Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka hur Karlskrona kommun skulle betygsättas utifrån Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan verktyget ADVANCE. Studien utgår framförallt ifrån forskningsförhållningssättet fallstudier, som framförallt har genomförts med hjälp av metoderna litteraturstudier samt ADVANCE. Litteraturstudierna har framförallt bestått av de strategier Karlskrona kommun har antagit angående dess mobilitetsplanering och ADVANCE har använts som ett verktyg för att kunna upptäcka de positiva och negativa effekter dessa strategier har för kommunen. Utifrån denna fallstudie, samt genom diskussioner med Lars Olofsson (trafiknämnden, Karlskrona kommun), analyseras de resultat som verktyget ADVANCE visar upp, i dessa analyser ges även exempel på lösningar som Karlskrona kommun skulle kunna använda sig av för att kunna förbättra sin nuvarande mobilitetsstrategi.

Stortorget i Karlskrona är ett centralt beläget offentligt rum som idag förlorat sin funktion som en plats med ett rikt offentligt liv och en trivsam plats i staden. Detta arbete tar tag i den problematiken och presenterar ett sätt på vilket man kan förändra torget och göra det attraktivare för stadens befolkning. Förslaget går ut på att göra torget mer anpassat för oskyddade trafikanter genom att bilarna får ta ett steg åt sidan men samtidigt göra det lättillgängligt med en ny kollektivtrafiklösning för Trossö. För att göra torget attraktivare har dess storlek försökt tonas ner och därmed göra det mer anpassat till den mänskliga skalan. Detta har skett bland annat genom att plantera träd men även genom nya byggnader som bättre integrerar med det stora torget..

This degree project concerns the redesigning of the travelguides of Vagabond, or to be precise: their cityguide over Istanbul. The purpose of the new design is to assure the resemblance between the guidebook and the magazine, as wanted by the Art Director of Vagabond Angelica Zander.Prior to the redesigning process preliminary studies that make up the fundamental ideas were made. Three other big titles of guidebooks on the market were analyzed, and in addition a great deal of focus ? considering the final purpose ? was put on the concept of magazine design.

Light pollution in urban areas - How to prevent light pollution at construction Jakob Sjöling Light pollution is a relatively new but rapidly growing form of pollution. Society's increasing demand for light coupled with the pace at which lighting technology evolves is accelerating that growth. The purpose of this study was to analyse how the construction industry plan and design outdoor lighting when erecting new buildings, specifically with regards to the issue of light pollution. It also investigated how local authorities work with these issues during urban planning. In both cases special interest was placed in ways to improve the planning and use of outdoor lighting in order to minimize light pollution.

De socioekonomiska klyftorna har blivit allt tydligare och bostadssegregationen har under de senaste decennierna växt fram i de svenska städerna. Det finns många föreställningar om hur man planerar den goda staden och vilka komponenter som behövs för att skapa en stad där alla är jämlika. I detta kandidatarbete undersöks hur den fysiska utformningen påverkar städers boendemönster och området Möllevången i Malmö studeras som fallstudie.

Detta examensarbete på masternivå i Fysisk Planering är en kvalitativ studie som genom innehållsanalys och tematisering undersöker blandstaden som planeringsideal utifrån de anspråk som görs gällande problemlösning. Studien innefattar en presentation av praktikdiskurs, teori och empiri i form av kommunala översiktsplaner vilket studeras utifrån institutionalisering genom tankefigurer, spårbundenhet och kognitiv dissonans. The aim of this paper is to analyse how the term attractiveness is interpreted in Swedish contemporary urban planning. The focus is to analyse how the term is discursively constructed and by this highlight the conceptions that exist around what makes a city attractive. We want to emphasize the importance of a deeper understanding of how attractiveness is used in urban planning and how the term is a part of the development of our cities. Given the use of attractiveness as a part of visionary goals for Malmö´s and other Swedish cities future development, our intention, therefore, is to enhance the understanding of what the use of attractiveness means in respect of the creation and construction of power relations in time and place. The framework of our analysis is based on the discourse theory approach and used as a way of understanding how urban ideals is discursively constructed.

The purpose of current paper is to identify the differences (ifany) between Swedish and Turkish consumers in terms ofproduct design perception and to identify the differences toproduct design in relating the four dimensions / characteristics:1.Aesthetical attractiveness, 2.Functionality, 3.Value and4.Quality.The findings of the study indicate the existence of a universal perception of design. Despite the culturally different countries that are examined the empirical material consistently display similarities between the two countries. Both the quantitative and qualitative data point to a very similar perception in terms of design. The possibilities of global design are discussed for companies as well as managerial implications and future research..

Transcending sound design is possible. There are unseen possibilities and a great potential for improvement and development in sound and music design ? but there is a great difficulty penetrating the obstacles that lies in the way for such development to take place and to exist. The difficulties in being negotiable and productive lies more within the limits of the audience it has to gain, than in itself. It is as though music and sound design has to evolve very slowly, in an almost evolutionary style; one step at a time, to be accepted.

Climate change is expected to lead to increased rainfall and higher temperatures, among other things. This will have a major impact on our cities. Floods can lead to property damage as well as damages to human and animal health. Higher temperatures will increase the frequency of heat-related health risks and premature deaths. The consequences of climate change will be particularly large in our cities because of the city's morphology with a high amount of paved surfaces and buildings that affect the natural processes in areas such as drainage and absorption of solar radiation.

This thesis explores the emotional aspects of graphic design, with a focus on environmental graphics for the public space. The goal is to find ways in which the emotional aspects of a design solution can be varied without compromising the practical aspects, i.e. affect the conveyance of information. In this newworld, media companies and organizations need new tools and business models tostay competitive. One such tool is Design Thinking, a term used to describe a cognitivedesign-specific set of activities used during a design process. It has been popularizedin commercial areas and there the term is used to describe an applicable workflowused to promote the skills required to use Design Thinking.

I Sveriges storstadsregioner har behovet av mer strategiskt utformade planer växt fram under senare år. I korthet beror detta på kommunens begränsande möjligheter att påverka bebyggelseutvecklingen. Samtidigt har kommunerna fortfarande ett ansvar för att bebyggelseutvecklingen leds mot en social, ekonomisk och ekologisk hållbarhet. Behovet av att koncentrera de kommunala insatserna har då ökat. Kommunens roll blir att tillhandahålla hållbara rumsliga ramar där förändringar på kvartersnivå sker i privat regi. Syftet med mitt examensarbete har varit att utforma en strukturplan för Högsbo industriområde.

Syftet med arbetet är att redovisa och diskutera planeringsprocessens förhållande till begreppet social hållbarhet, samt beskriva olika demokratimodeller och dimensioner av social hållbarhet. Vidare är syftet att undersöka hur olika aktörer i projektet Fjordbyen i Oslo arbetar med och tar hänsyn till olika aspekt av hållbarhetsdimensionen. Arbetet bygger på en forskningsöversikt över relevant planeringsvetenskaplig litteratur kombinerat med en fallstudie över Fjordbyen i Oslo där metoderna innehållsanalys och intervju användes. Den teoretiska översikten gjordes för att skapa ett underlagsmaterial för analys av fallstudiens empiri, genom skapandet av analyskriterier. Analysen visar att social hållbarhet spelar en viktig roll både för kommunen och privata aktörer, men att det finns svårigheter med deltagandet som samsvarar med vad som beskrivs i forskningsöversikten. Analysen visar också på en stark kommun som har initiativet över planeringen och styr efter sin vision, något som båda har positiva och negativa sidor..
