ABSTRACTThe aim of the observation study was to examine the Dental hygienists working tasks and the time they used carrying them out. Four Dental hygienists where observed during four days each. The total time the Dental hygienists used with patients during sixteen fulltime days come to a sum of 89 hours of the possible 111 hours. Twelve hours was late cancels and time when patients didn?t come to their appointment and ten hours were used for meetings.

The aim of this study was to investigate patients? experiences of pain during Dental hygienist treatment and scaling. The study is based on a questionnaire and includes 129 patients, from four Dental clinics in Skåne, Sweden. The questionnaire consisted of ten questions with a Visual Analogue Scale as a main question. Questions about age, gender and Dental anxiety were also included.

The study is based on a review of Dental records of adult patients from twenty years on a supportive treatment program. In all 640 patients were enrolled at the clinic, 20050309. A selection of 100 patients treated at the clinic from 2000 was made. Fifty off the Dental records should have the diagnosis caries and fifty the diagnosis periodontitis.

The aim of this study was to examine nursing personnel?s knowledge about oral health care and attitudes towards the free assessment of the oral status done by the Dental service for elderly and handicapped persons in a municipality in the south part of Skåne, and also how personnel experience the free assessment of the oral status done by the Dental service and how it functioned at the facilities. Introduktion: Erosionsskador är ett växande problem bland barn, ungdomar och unga vuxna. Dental erosion har en multifaktoriell etiologi som består av endogena och exogena orsaker. Att erosionsskador på tänderna ökar kan bero på den höga konsumtionen av sura drycker bland barn, ungdomar och unga vuxna. Personer som idrottar kan löpa risk för Dental erosion på grund av frekvent intag av sura sport/energidrycker men även till följd av påverkat salivflöde. Få studier har undersökt fotbollsspelares kunskap om Dental erosion och dess konsumtion av sport/energidryck.Syfte: Att studera kunskapen om erosionsskador bland en grupp fotbollsspelande kvinnor och män.Frågeställningar: Vilken kunskap har fotbollsspelande kvinnor om erosionsskador? Vilken kunskap har fotbollsspelande män om erosionsskador? Vilken konsumtion har fotbollsspelarna av energi/sportdryck?Metod: Studien är en kvantitativ, empirisk, tvärsnittsstudie.Resultat: Totalt deltog 44 personer i studien, 29 kvinnor och 15 män.

The aim of the present study was to examine smoking behaviour and motivation for smoking cessation in patients at a Dental clinic. Another aim was to examine if the patients had been asked by the Dental staff regarding their smoking habits.Twenty-two patients from a student clinic and twenty-one patients from a Swedish Public Dental Service Clinic in southern of Sweden participated in the study. Participants consisted of eighteen women and twenty-five men. Data collection was carried out using a questionnaire that was directed at smokers. The questionnaire was answered in connection with the visit to the Dental hygienist.The patients smoked between eight and twelve cigarettes per day and had on average smoked between 5 -15 years.

Introduction: Dental health globally is not equally distributed as shown by caries prevalence is higher in areas with more immigration outside Scandinavia and Western Europe and areas with lower socioeconomic status. To reduce the health inequalities in Borås, a Dental health project was made in five kindergartens in the district Hässleholmen. Purpose: The purpose of the survey was, by interviews with the actors involved (teachers, children, parents and the public Dental service) find out the views of the project, and whether the project is relevant and should continue. Method: The method used was qualitative interviews with the actors involved in Dental health project. A total of 21 interviews were then consolidated by a qualitative content analysis.
