Toothbrushing is the best available method in remaining or restore dental health in dogs. This report treats different aspects about toothbrushing and other dental home care treatments in dogs. Questions like why the dog?s teeth should be brushed, what effects toothbrushing have on dental health and how the teeth can be brushed are treated. This essay concerns medical- and dental tourism. The main purpose with the essay was to study which factors that affects Swedish choices to seek medical- and dental care abroad and therefore reach an understanding for Swedish medical- and dental tourism to other countries. The aim has also been to try to reach an insight in how Swedish medical- and dental tourism might develop the future. The study is based on qualitative interviews with five officials who were well-grounded in the field. The theoretical framework concerned the need of travel, push- and pull factors, Maslow?s hierarchy of needs and the thinking about needs within business activities.

Syfte: Syftet med denna studie var att undersöka uppfattningar av hypnoterapins effekter och upplevelser av hypnoterapi som behandling av tandvårdsrädsla på tandvårdskliniker.Material och metod: Materialet inhämtades genom intervjuer med sex informanter som arbetade med hypnoterapi som behandling mot tandvårdsrädsla på tandvårdskliniker i Sverige. Intervjuerna har genomförts med användning av en intervjuguide och varade i ca 20 ? 35 minuter. Metoden var kvalitativ och data analyserades med innehållsanalys. Resultat: I studiens resultat framträdde ett huvudtema: Förebyggande behandlingsmetod. Resultatet visade att informanterna uppfattade hypnoterapins effekter som goda och de upplevde hypnoterapi som effektiv vid behandling av tandvårdsrädsla.

The aim of this study was to investigate patients? experiences of pain during dental hygienist treatment and scaling. The study is based on a questionnaire and includes 129 patients, from four dental clinics in Skåne, Sweden. The questionnaire consisted of ten questions with a Visual Analogue Scale as a main question. Questions about age, gender and dental anxiety were also included.

We choose to revise the need of dental care in horses. How important is the dental care for our horse´s use and for their health? The study is based on a review of dental records of adult patients from twenty years on a supportive treatment program. In all 640 patients were enrolled at the clinic, 20050309. A selection of 100 patients treated at the clinic from 2000 was made. Fifty off the dental records should have the diagnosis caries and fifty the diagnosis periodontitis.

The aim of this study was to examine nursing personnel?s knowledge about oral health care and attitudes towards the free assessment of the oral status done by the dental service for elderly and handicapped persons in a municipality in the south part of Skåne, and also how personnel experience the free assessment of the oral status done by the dental service and how it functioned at the facilities. Introduktion: Erosionsskador är ett växande problem bland barn, ungdomar och unga vuxna. Dental erosion har en multifaktoriell etiologi som består av endogena och exogena orsaker. Att erosionsskador på tänderna ökar kan bero på den höga konsumtionen av sura drycker bland barn, ungdomar och unga vuxna. Personer som idrottar kan löpa risk för dental erosion på grund av frekvent intag av sura sport/energidrycker men även till följd av påverkat salivflöde. Få studier har undersökt fotbollsspelares kunskap om dental erosion och dess konsumtion av sport/energidryck.Syfte: Att studera kunskapen om erosionsskador bland en grupp fotbollsspelande kvinnor och män.Frågeställningar: Vilken kunskap har fotbollsspelande kvinnor om erosionsskador? Vilken kunskap har fotbollsspelande män om erosionsskador? Vilken konsumtion har fotbollsspelarna av energi/sportdryck?Metod: Studien är en kvantitativ, empirisk, tvärsnittsstudie.Resultat: Totalt deltog 44 personer i studien, 29 kvinnor och 15 män.
