As the Swedish governments long term goals include a reduction of fossil fuel dependency, increasing pressure is placed upon energy companies to create and develop new solutions for renewable energy. The following case study was done in collaboration with the company Sydved Energileveranser AB and one of their contractors, Enarssons Skogsentreprenad AB. The objective of the study is to examine the bioenergy situation in region of SkÄne and evaluate the potential solutions in the region for a forest-fuel assortment, based on a bioenergy-cutting-system. As a part of this study I have compared ordinary manual cuttings done with a chain saw and cuttings made using the new ?bio- energy cutting system?. The cuttings made under both systems were tested in areas near agricultural fields or pasture land in order to maintain an open landscape.

Augmented reality is an interesting technology which has increased in popularity the last couple of years. Even though we see more and more of this technology the use of it doesn?t match up to its true potential. This paper aims to investigate the possibilities of this technology and illustrate how companies can use it in their business to reach out to customers in a new and exciting way. The study consists of three parts.

Husums plant has a selection of different pulp pumps at bleaching plant 4 and 5. The displacement- (HC-pump, Sund Defibrator PTD-60) and centrifugalpumps (MC-pump, MCA 42-200, MCP 30/20) are of interest in this report. The centrifugal pumps are controlled by throttle valves, which result in an energy loss. Chemical mixers are used to mix ClO2 into the pulp before proceeding into a holding tower where the bleaching process occurs.The energy demand of the different positions has been measured or calculated to be used in comparisons against new equipment. Quotations were requested and delivered from Valmet and Sulzer.

VEP, visual evoked potential is an electrophysiologic test that can be used for evaluating the higher visual pathways. The aim of this study was to investigate if it is possible to adapt this method to horses. This method could have a clinical use in addition to the existing diagnostic methods that are available to evaluate vision in horses. Firstly, this study contains a summary of relevant studies done on animals and, secondly, an experimental part where the possibility of recording VEP in nonsedated and sedated horses is investigated and where to position the recording electrode to obtain the best results. Our results show that it is possible to record VEP in horses in a clinical setting. VEP was best recorded in the sedated horse to avoid movement artifacts and other disturbances.

Vidare Àr syftet att analysera möjligheten för börsprognostisering och analysera om denna möjlighet Àr lika stor för Dow Jones som för OMXS30. Detta kommer att ske genom att undersöka motsvarande variabler för respektive lands aktieindex. Variablerna arbetslöshet, rÀnta och oljepris visade sig inte ha nÄgon signifikant pÄverkan pÄ varken Dow Jones eller OMXS30. Det visade sig dock att aktieindexen reagerade pÄ samma sÀtt, för respektive lands variabler..

Corporate governance intensified due to the corporate scandals in the USA which led to a new law the so called Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX).In 2005 the "Svensk kod för bolagsstyrning" (The Code) was introduced. The main purpose of The Code is to strengthen the confidence in Swedish companies quoted on the Stockholm Stock Exchange. The Code focuses on the working process of boards. The rules set by The Code places higher demands on the board.  Among many other duties the board has to establish long term operational goals and strategy.

The purpose of this study is to discuss the use of social media by the Swedish Police for democratic purposes. The idea of citizen empowerment is closely related to the development of new communication technologies such as social media. Yet many studies indicate that governmental institutions rarely make use of the assumed potentials of social media.In this study, the democratic potential of social media is derived from Habermas normative concept of deliberative participation. Operational definitions emphasize discursive equality, interactive reciprocity and external impact. The analytical framework is combined with qualitative text analysis to highlight the conditions of interaction between representatives of the Police and citizens.In conclusion: the democratic potential of social media, from a Habermasian point of view, is to a significant extent neglected at the expense of its strategic advantages.

Most of the city of Uppsala rests on postglacial clay with a varying content of sulphur. The sulphur occurs naturally in the clay in reduced form as sulphide and the clay is for that reason usually called ?sulphide clay?. Excavation during construction activities gives rise to large amounts of excavation material, of which the sulphide clay is a considerable part.When the clay is exposed to air and water, an oxidation of the sulphides occurs which may produce an acid leachate and the mobilisation of heavy metals bound in the clay or underlying material. The aim of the work has been to improve our understanding of the behaviour of sulphide clays and produce a basis for risk assessment in the future handling of excavation material with high sulphide content.

AbstractIn this text the attitudes towards and using of blogs in teaching Swedish toteenagers will be explored. The results are based on a survey made amongst 17teachers and 58 students from all over Sweden. The end results show that theusage of blog still hasn?t found a permanent way into the classrooms, but has anappeal to and is being used by predominantly younger teachers both, male andfemale, with a positive response from students regardless of gender. Requirements for usability and accessibility are available from several agencies, an example is Myndigheten för delaktighet. Through literature studies, I get answer to what are usability and accessibility and the demands that can be set on a public website. In this study of three municipalities you get a glance how local authorities have been working on their web pages and if they fulfill the requirements so that the disabled would consider that the page has good usability and accessibility. In the interviews conducted in one of the municipalities you will receive information how they plan, organize, implement, monitor and develop their websites.

I det hÀr arbetet undersöks och jÀmförs tvÄ olika sökalgoritmer nÀr de anvÀnds för implementation av AI-spelare till brÀdspelet Pentago. De tvÄ algoritmerna som anvÀndes var alfa-betabeskÀrning och en nyare algoritm som kombinerar genetiska algoritmer och minimax, kallad genetisk minimax. UtvÀrderingen av resultaten visar att alfa-betabeskÀrning passar bÀttre vid implementation av en AI till Pentago Àn genetisk minimax. Alfa-betabeskÀrning med ytterligare optimeringar har potential att lÀmpa sig vÀldigt vÀl för implementation av spelare till Pentago. Ytterligare visar resultaten att genetisk minimax inte Àr en passande algoritm för AI till Pentago.

Stockholm har inför 2050 satt upp ett mÄl om att bli koldioxidfritt. I strÀvan mot detta söker man utvinna energi med förnybara metoder och ett alternativ för elproduktion inom stadskÀrnan skulle kunna vara solceller. Solceller Àr en teknik som genom sammanfogande av halvledarmaterial och den fotoelektrisk effekt genererar el ur solinstrÄlning.Avhandlingen studerar dagens solceller, med verkningsgrader uppemot 20 % och deras potential att tÀcka den mindre del av Stockholms elbehov som idag hÀrstammar frÄn fossila brÀnslen. Genom att se till en uppskattad befintlig takyta i Stockholms kommun och jÀmföra den med ytan som baserat pÄ solcellernas potential behövs för att tÀcka behovet, konstateras att endast en liten del av detta kommer kunna tÀckas. För att solceller skall vara aktuella inom storskalig elproduktion, krÀvs att de Àr ekonomiskt lönsamma och att det i dagens lÀge Àr praktiskt genomförbart att montera dem inom stadskÀrnan.

AbstractThe market?s demand to purchase more cost effective products is continuously increasing. The producers are forced to become more efficient and flexible with resources to produce high quality products at a low cost in order to maintain or increase market shares. With this in mind Isaberg Rapid AB is requesting a project to increase efficiency in the assembly cell of hammertackers. The company has found in Kaizen-events that there is a potential of efficiency improvements in the assembly group that has not been achieved.The objective with this paper is to identify the major factors that influence the efficiency in the assembly cell for hammertackers.

We are heading for a line, and its a fine one. This project is a dialogue between you and I; about the dialogue itself. The initial interest was to use literary text to address the visitor in the exhibition space. The purpose was to make man aware of its relation to others and narrative objects. I planned for the dialectical event in every descision.

Syftet med denna studie Àr att undersöka vad som hÀnder i olika naturvetenskapliga situationer i den fria verksamheten i förskolan. PÄ vilket sÀtt tas sÄdana situationer tillvara pÄ av pedagogen? Jag har anvÀnt mig av videoobservationer i tvÄ förskolor i Mellansverige för att försöka upptÀcka situationer i den fria verksamheten som har potential att bli en naturvetenskaplig lÀrandesituation för barnen. I studien observerades 11 pedagoger. Resultatet visade att det finns potential för att utveckla naturvetenskapligt lÀrande för barnen i den fria verksamheten i förskolan.
