European cities of today are under the challenge to find ways to stay competitive and flourish in a rapidly changing world, where the old patterns of centrality and periphery not necessarily holds true. New and improved communication networks, a changed political geography in Europe, and the globalisation of not only the financial and industrial markets but also to a certain extent the globalisation of people, have all led to great challenges for cities and regions.In a changed spatial reality the classic monocentric models are challenged by newer models of urbanisation. The polycentric urban region is one such model which has been used to describe urban regions like the Randstad in the Netherlands and the Rhein-Ruhr region in Germany. Regions which lack the single dominant central city of the monocentric models of old, and instead shows a high degree of more equal-sized and sometimes more specialised cities in regional cooperation. The polycentric urban region is in that aspect a possible model for how other urbanised regions in Europe may act to be able to position themselves as attractive urban regions and regional hubs in the European urban network.Polycentric urban regions are not a universal solution, though.

This degree project has been performed on commission by Örsjöbelysning AB. The task has been to study alighting armature and compare it to the demands of The Swan Ecolabel. The task was also to recommend adjustments to improve the environmental adaption of the product to meet the demands of The Swan Ecolabel. Furthermore the task has been to gather documentation on the elements of the lighting armature. Such documentation is required to obtain The Swan Ecolabel.

SammanfattningBakgrundI alla tider har människan sökt nya organisationsformer för att effektivisera sitt arbete. Sedan 1900-talets början har organiseringen i projekt fått en alltmer framträdande roll. En effektiv projektorganisering kräver även ett väl avvägt urvalsbeslut för vilka projekt som ska genomföras. Denna studie har valt att undersöka förbättringsmöjligheter inom urvalsprocessen hos multiprojektorganisationer med avseende på effektivitet, konsekvens i besluten samt transparens och styreffekter för organisationen.GenomförandeVi har genomfört en kvalitativ studie med ett fallföretag. Syftet har varit att få ett djup i undersökningen och en god förståelse för processen inom flera hierarkiska nivåer.

Under våren 2013 har jag genomfört ett estetiskt och multimodalt projekt tillsammans med pedagoger och barn på en specialförskola för barn med flerfunktionsnedsättningar. The purpose of this study is to determine if and how male or female everyday languagesdiffer. The study is based on ten interviews with five men and five women living inHalmstad, who are between the ages of 22-29. The interview results were analyzed andcompared with previous research on the subject. The result shows that there is adifference between the male and female informants use of language. Women laughing,using italics, hedges, the word så ?so? and response signals to a greater degree than men.The reason may be that men and women basically use different conversation styleswhen they communicate, that men prefer a public speech, intended to provideinformation and knowledge.

The aim of this project was to design a furniture that raises thoughts and curiosity about how to relate to people you share furniture with. Luova, a changing piece of furniture for public spaces is a bench where the user can choose the degree of social interaction. Furniture for public spaces has a diverse audience ranging from children to adults. Some come alone, others in group. Some are sitting down for a short time while others stay for longer.

The aim for this essay is to identify and distinguish the metal casting of Uppåkra during late Iron Age by examine related material that primarily consist of finds made with a metal detector. I intend to, by analysing maps, concentrations in the detector material and probable constructions within the settlement, find patterns that can indicate a metal casting activity. The results of the essay show that a number of concentrations can be seen and that they both indicate metalworking activities and to some degree a structural specialization in the settlement. The exclusive artefacts also indicate that Uppåkra was a settlement with over-regional functions when it comes to traditions dealing with metal casting..

This degree project has been done in parallel to the advertising agency Hera in Uppsala, and containsthe creating of a logotype and graphic profile for Aircall, a new big chain of shops dealing with telecommunication.Aircall was found 1 February 2004, when three smaller companies became one. Thisnew company were in need of a common brand and a uniform profile. The created graphic profile hasbeen applied to visiting cards, letterhead, envelopes, letter cards, bags, cars and advertisement. Thegraphic profile has also been used when designing the shop interior end exterior. Research has beendone on competitors graphic profiles and advertisement.

For my advanced degree in archival science, I have organized and catalogued the Blomqvist family archive.  The Blomqvist family archive consists of records from the end of the 19th century to the beginning of the 21th century. The records in the archive depict and describe different aspect of the Blomqvist familys life and work. Specific problems and theoretical questions that appeared during the cataloguing of the Blomqvist archive were related to the great presence of objects and photographs in the archive. A discussion concerning the role of objects in archives and within archive institution took place. The problem with cataloguing photographs as well as the problem of searching for photographs in archives, were also discussed.       .

Syftet med examensarbetet är att hjälpa ett företag med att införa standardlittera för deras prefabricerade betongelement som ingår i deras Konceptet. Införandet av standardlittera ska resultera till att återfinna och gruppera deras betongelement i CAD-systemen. We did our thesis project at one of the most prestigious Swedish construction companies. We have examined the possibilities of doing sandwich elements to standard elements which would increase the degree of industrialization. The company has developed a concept that is based on a more refined process of industrialization.

Torneå stad och Haparanda kommun ligger på gränsen mellan Finland och Sverige. Dessa gränsstäder bildar ett öppet gränsområde, där fri övergång är möjligt. Städerna samarbetar ständigt med varandra och ?På gränsen- Rajalla?- projekt avser en av dessa samarbetsformer. Projektets syfte är att i mitt på riskgränsen bygga ett gemensamt stadscentrum.

Denna kvalitativa intervjustudie söker svar på frågan hur rehabiliteringsarbetet med kommunalanställda som är långtidssjukskrivna på grund av mental ohälsa i Burlövs Kommun fungerar. Detta arbete sker i samverkan mellan flera aktörer och studeras därför som ett projekt där de olika aktörerna utgör projektets deltagare. Det empiriska materialet analyseras med hjälp av de teoretiska analysverktygen Rationalitet, Verklighet och Makt.Studien visar på brister i rehabiliteringsarbetet som framförallt beror på en ojämnlik maktfördelning inom projektet. Arbetsgivarens syn på sjukskrivning, mental ohälsa och rehabilitering styr i hög grad projektets början, riktning och slut och flera av de övriga projektdeltagarna upplever därför att deras kunskap och möjligheter att bedriva en god rehabilitering ignoreras. Inte minst gäller detta de sjukskrivna själva som känner sig misstrodda, övergivna och pressade i rehabiliteringsarbetet, vilket förvärrar och försvårar deras aktiva väg tillbaka till arbete och långsiktig hälsa..

För att arbetet i ett projekt ska flyta på så smidigt som möjligt så gäller det att ha en bra projektorganisation. I litteraturen finns flera projektorganisationsmodeller beskrivna, men dessa är skapade för idealförlopp och går sällan att använda rakt av i verkligheten. Istället för att ta fram helt nya organisationsformer skulle företag kunna spara både tid och pengar på att direkt kombinera teorins idealmodeller. Syftet med denna uppsats är att undersöka hur teorins traditionella projektorganisationsmodeller kan kombineras. Rapporten baseras på intervjuer på ett företag som har en lång erfarenhet av projektarbeten och som tagit fram en projektorganisationsmodell som innehåller delar från flera idealmodeller.

Syftet med detta examensarbete är att göra en inventering av anlagda våtmarker i Kalmar kommun för att sedan göra en översiktlig bedömning av våtmarkernas förutsättning för näringsretention. Våtmarker har under flera sekel utdikats för att utöka arealen odlingsmark. Därigenom har naturliga näringsfällor förlorats, och i takt med att odlingsmarken har ökat har även övergödningen i Östersjön förvärrats. Anläggande av våtmarker på nya platser eller på platser där våtmarker har legat förr har blivit populärt för vattenrening. Våren 2012 startade Kalmar kommun och Linnéuniversitetet ett projekt för uppföljning och restaurering av våtmarker, och detta examensarbete ingår delvis i detta projekt.

The primary ambition of this degree thesis is to create a representative outdoor environment that surrounds Malmö Konsthall (Malmö art center) which reflects the amazing inside of the artcenter. During this work it has become more and more obvious that Magistratsparken, which is situated right next to the artcenter, ought to be incorporated into this project. This thesis aims to examine the possibilities of implementing temporary outdoor artshows on this site. First; is there any interest in exhibiting art at this site? And secondly, if that is the case, what are the spatial needs and how can you prepare the place for future exhibitions and still keep its flexibility for different kinds of art forms to comfortably perform at this site?.
