Det smarta kapitalet : En studie av nyetablerade IT-företags syn på relationen till sitt riskkapitalbolag
Background: The growth of the venture capital industry has given birth to new relations between investors and entrepreneurial firms. Venture capital firms are by definition investors serving as an active partner which implies a deeper relation between investors and entrepreneurs than has been the case previously. This new situation leads to a number of questions. Do venture capitalists really act as active partners with a long term interest in the venture? Do they add any value besides capital? How important is their influence in the portfolio company's Decision Making process? Purpose: The purpose of this study is to give a deeper understanding of the relation between venture capital firms and IT companies in the start-up phase.
Odlingsstrategier på organogena jordar : en studie om beslutsfattande bland KRAV-anslutna lantbrukare
This study examines how farmers certified by KRAV face proposed regulations on organic soils put forward by KRAV economic association among others, and how they are affected economically. These soils are, from an environmental perspective, interesting as a target for production regulations as they cause greenhouse gas emissions through decomposition of organic material when cultivated. The regulations advocate that organic soils should be grown with pasture where soil cultivation is only allowed every fith year which implies that possible adjustments of cultivation have to be made in order to fulfill the regualtions. Collection of data have been made through a questionnaire sent out to 574 farmers certified by KRAV. The answers have been analysed using a Decision Making model and statistical findings suggest that proportion of organic soils, type of production, economic conditions and farmers? goals and values have an influence on whether the regulations and potential cultivation adjustments have been considered or not.
Hur hanterar ambulanspersonal ett hotfullt beteende vid utryckning
Varje gång ambulanspersonalen åker på ett larm finns risk för att de ska råka ut för personer som kan bli hotfulla eller våldsamma. Det behöver nödvändigtvis inte vara patienten som är hotfull, utan det kan lika gärna vara någon annan i omgivningen. Syftet med detta examensarbete var att undersöka hur ambulanspersonalen kan bedöma att ett hotfullt beteende föreligger och vilka beslut de därefter tar om hur de ska agera. En kvalitativ undersökning gjordes med hjälp av halvstrukturerade intervjuer där frågeställningarna var: Har ambulanspersonalen utbildning och kunskap för att bedöma vad som är ett riskfyllt beteende? Agerar personalen utifrån sin utbildning, kunskap eller gällande säkerhetsrutiner? Påverkar stress ambulanspersonalens bedömningar och beslut? Har personalen återkoppling efter ett larm för att diskutera om bedömningen och besluten de tog var korrekta? Den teoretiska utgångspunkten var Naturalistiskt beslutsfattande (NDM = Naturalistic Decision Making) och mer specifikt Igenkänningsbaserade beslut (RPD = Recognition-Primed Decision).

suggests that this may be case. The reason is that they are not aware of that
psychological decision traps exist. If so, it can lead to pernicious
consequences for the return on the portfolios they manage.
Purpose: To investigate if investors fall into four different psychological
decisions traps: anchoring, confirming evidence, overconfidence and regression
towards mean, at investments in IPOs
Method: We have collected data through a form of experiment.

Go East!: En fallstudie av lokaliseringsbeslutet vid offshoring
This paper aims to determine what is decisive for localisation of production units when a company engages in offshoring. By performing a case study on Electrolux and comparing the results with theoretical literature we discuss the implications for manufacturing companies in general. To facilitate a structured analysis we have developed a model dividing the localisation decision into five perspectives and four geographical levels. We have found that the determinants of localisation vary depending on the geographical level of the decision process. Since all geographical levels are interconnected, the analysis needed for a decision on all levels simultaneously is very comprehensive.

A current debate is going on in Sweden about the health-care organization, how it is structured today and how it should be structured in the future. Despite major changes in the county council structures, they still got problems with for instance economy and the providing of staff. As an answer to these problems new solutions are being developed.In this thesis I examine such a solution consisting of cooperation between county councils. The aim of the thesis is to examine how and why the county councils in Sörmland and Västmanland have made a decision regarding cooperation over the administrative border.My contribution is to construct a model over change and decision processes that can be used in other cases as well. The conclusion is partly that the decision to cooperate is built on changing structural factors, such as economy, demography and medical development.

Floor signs in stores have become a more common phenomenon during past years. The problem is that the knowledge about these signs is limited and the actual effects are unknown. This lack of knowledge can have a negative impact on store performance and marketing efforts. The purpose of this paper is to examine the effects of floor signs on consumer attitude and behaviour. The study was conducted in two grocery stores, where the movement pattern of 39 501 customers was recorded over a four week period.
Svenska kärnvapenprogrammet under Kalla kriget : En studie av den internationella arena som påverkade uppstartandet och nedläggandet av Sveriges kärnvapenprogram
The purpose of this paper is to investigate possible reasons Sweden might have had to motivate the start and end of its nuclear program during the Cold war. This investigation will be conducted using a qualitative research method and making a comparison between the theories realism and liberalism?s ability to explain the decisions. The question this paper is based upon is as follows: Can Sweden?s creating and shutting down of a nuclear weapons program during the Cold war be explained by the international events and actions that were taking place during this time period? The result consists of liberalism pointing out several failures on the international level that might explain the cynical decision from Sweden to create the nuclear weapons. Realism considers the decision to make perfect sense at this point in time, to protect Sweden on the anarchy that was going on at that time according to this theory.The ending of the nuclear weapons program is being explained largely by the rise of the MAD-concept which renders the acute need of nuclear weapons in Sweden void. Liberalism on the other hand considers this a logic step due to the better established UN that is playing a larger role now than in the 1940s. In conclusion, realism does a better job explaining the start of the nuclear weapons program, while liberalism explains the end of it more efficiently. The contribution this thesis has to the research of political science can be seen mainly in three areas.

This master degree paper is exploring a part of KB?s digitisation of those collections. It deals with the questions about what the KB had chosen for digitisation, why those choices were maid and who is responsible for making these decisions. The paper will also for example seek out different patterns and trends in the information.

With many different elective courses to choose between, a lot of students experience anxiety over deciding which courses to study next semester. The choice of a specific course can have a big impact on the students future studies and/or employment. Therefore the anxiety is justified. At the same time the number of students applying for a course often vary from year to year. This creates issues for the responsible teachers because of the ever-changing resource requirements.There are several different theories on Decision Making, addressing the different time related states as well as the different habitual styles.
Strategiskt beslutsfattande : hur svenska lantbrukare agerar för att anpassa sig till sockerreformen
A severe profitability decline in sugar beet production in all of Europe is one of the consequences of the latest reform of the EU sugar regime. In south of Sweden, sugar beets is the crop that has been the most profitable by far for the last decade. The high profitability has contributed to the high rate of increase in the price of land and has restrained the structural change towards a more effective agriculture. Because of the reform, all sugar beet producers are facing diminishing income and must find ways to compensate this.
The aim of this master thesis is to study how Swedish farmers adapt to the sugar beet reform. A questionnaire was sent to 354 randomly selected sugar beet producers.
