The aim of this paper is to examine how the press describes the public and private role of the Swedish monarch in texts that report about the biography Carl XVI Gustaf ? den motvillige monarken (Sjöberg et al. 2010) when it is published in November 2010. The examined period ranges between the days just before the release and a fortnight after. The analysis is limited to standard Swedish papers: a daily, Svenska Dagbladet, and an evening paper, Expressen.Questions asked in the study are: In what ways do the analysed texts raise a discussion about the monarchy?s importance or function in the society of today, that is a public debate on the monarchy? To what extension are status symbols used in the constructing of royalty, that is what Jürgen Habermas (2003) describes as representative publicity? What similarities and differences are found when comparing the news articles in the daily and in the evening paper?The method used to answer the aim and questions is the critical discourse analysis, as Norman Fairclough (1995) describes it, and the theoretical perspective of the essay is Jürgen Habermas? (2003) theory about the bourgeois public sphere.The result shows that the news articles in the daily unsurprisingly construct only a public who wants to debate on the monarchy.

In recent years, the right-wing extremist site Avpixlat (?Unveiled?) and the anti-racist blog Inte rasist, men... (?Not a racist, but??, IRM) have established themselves as political actors and platforms for political discussion in Sweden. However, we know very little about them and their impact on democracy.

The interest in the subject of this study was raised during our education when we read about thedifficulties for young people to find a place at the labour-market.The aim of this study was to find out what the view of the possibilities to find a place on the labourmarketis for young people, 16 - 18 years old, who don't follow a national program but follow theindividual program.Both quantitative and qualitative methods have been used through a survey questionnaire and agroup-interview. The results show that young people know that education is important to get a jobbut at the same time the majority says that they would leave school if they got a job-offer. Theyoung people think that they have a relatively good knowledge about the labour-market but at thesame time they can't describe what it imply. This could mean that there is a gap between school andworking life. .

The aim of this Master?s thesis is to examine how the literature criticism are in the Swedish media in the reception of the novel Mosquitoes and tigers from 2007 written by the Swedish author Maja Lundgren. A second aim is to examine how master suppression techniques have been used by the literature critics in the newspaper debate. This qualitative study is based upon a total of 52 articles and reviews from five big Swedish newspapers. The theoretical approach, literature criticism, mainly originates from the Swedish professor in Literature Science Tomas Forser and the literature scholar Gunnar Hansson.

In this thesis I examine the events that followed the death of August Strindberg and resulted in his private belongings becoming an important part of Swedens cultural heritage. My purpose has been twofold: firstly, to identify which aims were sought to be achieved when dealing with Strindberg's archives and his home and to relate these to a nationalistic interpretation of history, secondly, to relate this work to the then newly introduced archival principle, the Principle of provenance. I identified three different aims: firstly the economic aim must be seen in the light of an increasingly expanding publishing market. I argue that the author gained a new and important role in the general social debate a nationalistic one, an important point with regard to my following conclusions. Secondly, the aim to store and display the material in a museum is discussed in relation to different views of cultural history and the interpretation of history.

To enable the enhancement of the driver's environment in a forklift, an alternative form of steering has been evaluated. An earlier concept with a combined driving and steering wheel has been exchanged to a concept with two driving wheels. A link wheel has replaced the combined driving and steering wheel. The steering is done through differentiation of the velocities of the two driving wheels. The scope of this master thesis is to create a simulation model, create a control program and to evaluate the concept of two driving wheels.

Skolan har ett demokratiuppdrag såväl som ett kunskapsuppdrag som ligger till grund för denna studies inriktning. Det politiska deltagandet har minskat bland ungdomar under 1990-talet och i en undersökning från Skolverket visade det sig att elever från praktiska och teoretiska program hade stora skillnader i kunskaper om demokrati. Vår studie syftade till att undersöka hur demokrati framställs och problematiseras i fyra samhällskunskapsläroböckers demokratiavsnitt där två används på praktiska program, Bok-och-webb (2004), Aspekt (2005), samt två som används på teoretiska program, Reflex (2004) och Zigma (2000).Läroböckerna i denna studie är exempel på brukstexter som har både en teoretisk och en praktisk funktion. Eleverna möter en textbaserad verklighet och skall utifrån den teoretiska kunskapen kunna fungera och agera praktiskt, i skolan och samhället. Till undersökningen valde vi att tillämpa en kunskapskritisk analys för att utröna vilken kunskap om demokrati läroböckerna förmedlar för att sedan relatera detta till skolans kunskaps- och demokratiuppdrag.

This thesis is based on the implementation of a bilateral rural development program in Burkina Faso. The main purpose of this study was to put the actual implementation process of a bilateral development program in view. This was done by investigating how two dominant perspectives in the implementation literature can explain what in fact happens during the realization of an aid program. A further aim of the thesis was to explore the limitations of these two dominant theories, in order to get a full understanding of the complexity of the realization of an aid program. Based on the implementation theory, this study shows that the realization of an aid program can be understood from three different angles.

The Veiled Party: A Discourse Analysis of Sweden Democratic Texts aims to further the understanding of the underlying ideology of the Sweden Democratic party, by revealing whether or not there is any ideological content that include race, racialization, and racism in the party?s political texts. The study offers a background description of the discursive change in the social and political climate of debate in Sweden, which opened a policy window for xenophobic agenda setting. In addition, the study delivers a presentation of the public debate regarding the Sweden Democrats, as well as statements by party representatives.Through a social constructionist and discourse analytic framework, the study aims at understanding how the application of racial ideas are done and mapped. The core of the theoretical framework is a critical race and whiteness theoretical approach.

Foreign aid is a very debated and controversial topic. The most recent studies have focused more on GDP growth and foreign aid correlation, however not much of the debate has focused on what kind of foreign aid should be given. The most common foreign aid is budget support, often a bilateral funds transfer between two countries. This kind of foreign aid can be both conditional and unconditional from the donors? perspective.

?Ofta att det är värt? är en språksociologisk undersökning av orden ofta, orka, värt och ovärt. Syftet var att undersöka om, och i så fall hur, orden användes på ett icke-traditionellt sätt av gymnasieungdomar i Lerum och om denna användning kan klassas som slang. En enkät delades ut till elever i årskurs tre på samtliga gymnasieprogram på Lerums Gymnasium. Hypotesen var att flickor, i högre utsträckning än pojkar, skulle använda orden på ett icke-traditionellt sätt och att elever på teoretiska program skulle använda dem mer än elever på praktiska program.

In the years 1996-2001 the European Union`s copyright-directive was drawn up. This directive led to much lobbying activities from both copyright holders and library organisations like EBLIDA and IFLA. The Internet and filesharing networks like Napster had led to strong reactions among some copyright holders. Internet gave people an easy opportunity of accessing copyright protected material. Some researchers of copyright have written books where they state that the copyright holders utilize authors fear of illegal copying to strengthen the copyright laws, and by that benefit economical.

In contemporary encryption the vast amount of text subject to cracking has brought about the demand for methods distinguish files more likely to be encrypted. The encryption software Truecrypt can encrypt files that are not possible to identify with a file signature. To solve the detection problem, an algorithm sensitive to the absence of structure in the very code of files was developed. The program was written in the programming language EnScript which is built into the forensic software suite EnCase. The essential part of the algorithm therefore deployes the statistic of a chi-square test for deviance from a uniform distribution to distinguish files with contents that appear to be random.

Dynagraph AB i Göteborg är ett företag som håller på med 3D och virtual reality. Största delen av verksamheten går till 3D-modellbyggande, en mindre del går åt försäljning av 3D-programvaror. Företaget ville ta fram information om vilka funktioner som användare av 3D-visualiseringsprogram tycker är viktiga för deras verksamhet och även ta fram en metod att utvärdera olika 3D-visualiseringsprogram mot varandra. Resultatet av denna undersökning skulle vara Dynagraph till nytta i form av bakgrundsinformation vid seminarier och försäljning av programvara. Metoden för betygsättning av program kan även användas generellt av programvaruleverantörer för att väga program mot varandra.

Syftet med detta examensarbete var att undersöka vilka faktorer det är som påverkar elevers motivation i ämnet Engelska. Examensarbetet behandlar om det finns eventuella skillnader, och i så fall vilka, beträffande motivation på teoretiskt gymnasieprogram respektive praktiskt gymnasieprogram.Metoden som använts i denna undersökning är en enkätstudie. Enkäten distribuerades till sammanlagt 183 elever varav 91 elever läser på teoretiskt program och 92 elever på praktiskt program. De elever som går på det teoretiska programmet läser på teknik programmet medan de som går praktiskt program läser på byggprogrammet och livsmedelprogrammet. Gemensamt för dessa program är att de läser Engelska 5 som motsvarar Engelska A i den gamla läroplanen Lpf 94, Engelska 5 ingår alltså i Gy11 som är den reformerade läroplanen som infördes hösten 2011.          Det finns en uppsjö av olika motivationsteorier och då denna studie behandlar psykologiska motivationsfaktorer har kognitiva, humanistiska samt behavioristiska perspektiv på motivation använts.
