F?r att analysera sambanden mellan bland annat politiska ideologier, syn p? omf?rdelning och individuella skillnader i relation till skatteattityder har faktor- och regressionsanalyser genomf?rts. Datainsamlingen genomf?rdes genom en enk?tunders?kning med hj?lp av Qualtrics och till analysen bestod 78 deltagare.

Syftet med denna uppsats är att belysa hur den inledande undervisningen inom ämnet matematik kan se ut samt se orsaker till de sjunkande resultat inom ämnet matematik som visats genom undersökningar.Uppsatsen har sin utgångspunkt i det resultat som undersökningen TIMSS 2007 visat och följs därefter upp av intervjuer med två grundskolelärare, en specialpedagog samt en matematikutvecklare som berättar om den inledande matematikinlärningen. Därtill genomförs ett kunskapstest med elever i årskurs 4. Intervjuerna samt resultatet av kunskapstestet blev, efter sammanställning, jämförda mot tidigare forskning tagen. Relevant litteratur söktes fram från bibliotek samt från databaser på Internet med inriktning mot matematik.Resultatet visar att många lärare har läroboken som utgångspunkt för sin undervisning men att det konkreta materialet är ett viktigt komplement som gör eleverna delaktiga samt befäster matematiken i vardagen. The aim of this Masters thesis is to examine public library and information technology IT discourses to see which relationships are established between them in four library journals. This is done in two steps, where first discourses are defined followed by an analysis of the relationships established between the public library and IT in each discourse. The questions from which the analysis emanates are as follows: What discourses exist around the public library and IT in the library journals? What conceptions of the tasks of the public library are constructed in the discourses? What conceptions of the tasks of IT are constructed in the discourses? What conceptions of the relationships between the public library and IT are constructed in the discourses? The theoretical and methodological starting-points are found in Ernesto Laclaus and Chantal Mouffes discourse theory. 37 articles from four library journals Biblioteksbladet, Bibliotek i Samhälle, DIK-forum and Ikoner - are analysed through a model in five phases.

This bachelor thesis explores how librarian graduates perceive the transfer from university to employment. The authors will examine how librarian graduates experience the relation between knowledge learned from university studies and the qualifications required from the employer. The basis of the thesis is the concept of transition process. In this thesis it is defined as the relation between the knowledge gained from education and the qualifications required by the employer as well as the problem to transfer knowledge between different contexts.The theoretical framework is build upon the concept of competence and its connection to re-contextualized knowledge. The empirical material of the thesis constitutes of five phone interviews with newly employed librarians.

The municipality of Falkenberg is a result of a unification of several smaller municipalities in 1971, each one with a small library. This left Falkenberg with an unusual large amount of smaller branch libraries. The object of this thesis is to describe and try to understand the political conflicts that have erupted during the period 1971-1994. Through a case study containing press clippings from the local newspaper, different reports, political meeting protocols, a historical background of the library and a study of library specific norms and regulations I can create an image of the heated debate. The participants in this debate can be divided into politicians and civil servants and the conflict circles round the fact that from an economical perspective, there is not enough budget to keep all the small, local libraries.

Uppsatsen beskriver arbetet och undersökning för hur deduplicering i filsystemet ZFS påverkar effektförbrukningen. En större mängd redundant data förekommer i centraliserade lagringssystem som förser virtualiserade servrar med lagringsutrymme. Deduplicering kan för den typen av lagringsmiljö eliminera redundant data och ger en stor besparing av lagringsutrymme. Frågan som undersökningen avsåg att besvara var hur ett lagringssystem påverkas av det extra arbete som det innebär att deduplicera data i realtid.Metoden för att undersöka problemet var att utföra fem experiment med olika typer av scenarion. Varje scenario innebar att filer kopierades till ett lagringssystem med eller utan deduplicering för att senare kunna analysera skillnaden.

During the late twentieth century, political and societal changes gave rise to an increased interest in performance evaluation in public organizations. This development also affected libraries in the public sector. The main concern for this master thesis is performance measurement in libraries. In this study two different types of libraries are investigated, one public and the other academic. My aim is to find out if and how performance measurement appears in the libraries annual activity reports.

The history of books and libraries in the Philippines starts after the arrival of the Spaniards in 1521. During the Spanish era, most of the libraries were established through the religious orders to support their own religious mission. The Americans came in the beginning of the 20th century and have had a decisive influence on the education system and the development of libraries in the Philippines. For the analysis, I have used the models of Michael H. Harris and Magnus Torstensson in their studies of library development.

Syftet med denna undersökning är att ta reda på hur barn med funktionsnedsättning framställs i barnlitteratur samt hur framställningen kan påverka läsarens syn på barn med funktionsnedsättning. En textanalys, utförs på tre barnlitterära verk, publicerade mellan 2005 och 2010, som går att finna på bibliotek i en svensk storstad. Undersökningens primära utgångspunkt är sprungen ur diskursteori och förutsätter därmed att språket i barnlitteratur påverkar hur barn ser på och agerar i världen. Diskursteori, tillsammans med semantisk kategorisering, ligger till grund för den metod som används, där beskrivande ord och fraser från undersökningens källor kategoriseras efter vissa kriterier. Analysen visar varierande resultat mellan de tre böckerna och det dras därmed inga generella slutsatser angående hur barn med funktionsnedsättning framställs i barnlitteratur.

The purpose of this master?s thesis is to describe and analyse the origin and development of the municipal library of Västervik. There have been four previous libraries and our examination starts in 1859 with the foundation of a parish library. The other forerunners were a working-class movement library and two libraries in the International Orders of Good Templars. Before the merger of the libraries there were discussions in the municipal council, among the working-class movement and in the IOGT.

The explosion of new digital media puts pressure for developments within copyright law both in Sweden and internationally. These developments are taking place on two different international areas: (1) WIPO which is a part of the UN family and (2) the EU where a new directive on copyright law is being prepared and probably implemented during 2001. The aim of this thesis is twofold: (1) to study which considerations libraries must make when handling the new digital media both under today's copyright laws and under those which are being developed internationally. (2) What will be the consequences, for Swedish libraries, if the new EU-directive on copyright law is implemented in Sweden? By analysing current copyright laws, international treaties and the proposal for a new EU-directive as well as the national debate the thesis brings attention to a number of central issues for libraries.

This essay takes its point of departure in the need for modern day public libraries to legitimize their place in today?s society. Societal changes call for constant reinvention of libraries and as part of this reinvention, new light is being shed on the public library?s role as a meeting place. By investigating contemporary debate articles published in Bibliotek i samhälle and Biblioteksbladet, two major Swedish library magazines, this essay aims to categorize and compare different conceptions of the library?s function as a meeting place.
