Inom fordonsbranschen har det skett en snabb förändring vad det gäller den tekniska utvecklingen. Detta ställer ökade krav på mekanikern som skall reparera fordonen. Syftet med denna studie var att visa på branschens syn i Västernorrland på den kompetensförändring som syns i andra studier, samt att visa på hur branschen ser på den utbildning inom fordons och transportprogrammet som bedrivs vid gymnasieskolan. Undersökningen utfördes genom kvalitativa intervjuer vid sju märkesverkstäder. Urvalet gjordes genom studier av försäljningssiffror av antalet sålda fordon inom deras fordonsmärken.

SMC is in the process of developing a micro simulation model. The existing micro simulation model developed at Cornell University for US data, CorSim, is one of the fundamental parts for the new micro simulation at SMC. To develop the Swedish model, Swedish data on all individuals in Sweden during 11 years are also available. These data are organized in a database. This paper describes the process of rebuilding the database to a more useful structure.

Faktum är att det tillkommer så mycket ny data att de nya resultaten inte längre kan publiceras i artiklar. Dessa sekvenser av data finns istället bara åtkomliga i speciella databaser. Dessa databaser är tillgängliga för allmänheten dels genom att ladda ned dem eller att använda en Internet browser.Det har, för ett par år sedan, kommit en ny standard för att strukturera upp och lagra data på.

Due to a growing interest in communication in today?s society the demand for equipment that is used in communication networks increases while the competition between companies that produce this equipment grows. To meet the increasing demand and at the same time having a competitive product development many companies use some effective product design, such as the modular product design. When a modular product design is used it?s good to compare different module configurations for a certain product and to simplify these comparisons some tool can be used.

The purpose of this thesis was to examine if there where fallacies in the design solutions for the business system IFS Applications from a user perspective, and if so, correct these from a cognitive science approach.Data collection consisted of three main portions. These where; workshop, individual interviews and observations. The collected data was analyzed and resulted in identification of two main areas in the application that where found lacking.The result of the study showed that the usability for processing large amounts of data and the lack of customization where the main flaws in the application. Two low fidelity prototypes where created with the purpose of rectifying the underlying flawed design solutions that where identified from the collected data..

Dagens informationssamhälle har bidragit till att människor, maskiner och företag genererar och lagrar stora mängder data. Hanteringen och bearbetningen av de stora datamängderna har fått samlingsnamnet Big Data.De stora datamängderna ökar bland annat möjligheterna att bedriva kunskapsbaserad verksamhetsutveckling. Med traditionella metoder för insamling och analys av data har kunskapsbaserad verksamhetsutveckling tillämpats genom att skicka ut resurskrävande marknadsundersökningar och kartläggningar, ofta genomförda av specialiserade undersökningsföretag. Efterhand som analyser av samhällets befintliga datamängder blir allt värdefullare,har undersökningsföretagen därmed en stor utvecklingsmöjlighet att vaska guld ifrån samhällets enorma datamängder. Studien är genomförd som en explorativ fallstudie som undersöker hur svenska undersökningsföretag arbetar med Big Data och identifierar några av de utmaningar de står inför tillämpningen av Big Data analyser i verksamheten. Resultatet visar att de deltagande undersökningsföretagen använder Big Data som verktyg för att effektivisera befintliga processer och i viss mån komplettera traditionella undersökningar.

Creating a database to manage medical data is not the easiest. We create a database to be used for a presentation tool that presents medical data about patients that is stored in the database. We examine which of the three databases, MySQL with relational design, MySQL with EAV design and MongoDB that are best suited for storing medical data. The analysis i performed in two steps. The first step handles the database that is most effective to retriev data. The second step examines how easy it is to change the structure of the various databases. The results show that depending on whether efficiency or maintenance is most important, different databases are the best choise. MySQL with relational design proves to be most effective while MongoDB is the easiest to maintain..

This report deals with the design of a controller for SmartMedia? flash memory cards, based on a hardware description found in the SmartMedia? Interface Library - SMIL. The design was made on logic gate level, using standard cells in OrCAD Capture. After simulation of the design in PSpice A/D, it was exported as an EDIF netlist, which was used to make a chip layout in L-Edit, a layout tool for making integrated circuits. The layout was made using a method called Standard Place and Route - SPR, where the layout tool places standard cells from a library and connects them according to the EDIF netlist.

This bachelor thesis includes two different manuals and design of an interface box between a test object and a general test station (computer) with ARINC429 communication.There are three different purposes with this project:The first is to setup a general test station with ARINC429 communication using a communications card from DDC (DD-42916i3-300) and software from Ampol Technologies (dataSIMS).The second is to design a new interface between the test computer and the test object. There are two different kinds of users of this equipment, technicians and system engineers. Technicians use the equipment to test and repair flight components. The original promise behind the Internet Protocol was to deliver data from a sender to the receiver using a best-effort approach. This means that the protocol makes no guarantees except that it will try to deliver the data to the destination. If some problem occurs the packet may be discarded by the network without any notice. No guarantees are made regarding the time it takes to deliver the data, the rate at which data will be delivered or if data is delivered in the same order it was sent. The best-effort approach is arguably the reason behind the success of the Internet Protocol and is what makes IP scalable to networks the size of the Internet.

The report descripbs how a diplexer for a hybrid analog/digital filterbank has been constructed and tested. A diplexer divides the frequency band into two different bands that do not who doesn't overlapp each other. The sampling rate for the two ADC:s is 80 Msps, and therefore it is advantage to have zero at 80 MHz. The reason for this is that a proposed class of hybrid filterbanks with very good quality requires a zero at or close the sampling frequency to work well. The diplexer was made in three versions.

Sverige har länge haft en god kultur av öppenhet i den offentliga sektorn tack vareoffentlighetsprincipen. Men med allt större tekniska framsteg och ökade krav på datatillgängligheträcker den klassiska öppenheten inte längre till. Det finns redan mycket intressant offentlig data iSverige, men i de flesta fall är den antingen sparad i format som är svåra att avläsa digitalt eller fördyr att använda.I denna uppsats undersöks hur ett API kan utvecklas, användas och integreras med andra API:er föratt öppna upp ovan nämnda data på ett bättre sätt och göra den mer tillgänglig för potentiellaanvändare. Vidare undersöks också PSI-direktivets egentliga nytta och hur det tillsammans medoffentlighetsprincipen kan bidra till den nya öppenheten. Med koppling till denna uppsats har ävenen prototyp utvecklats för att ge exempel på hur man kan kombinera olika API:er för att visualiserageografisk data samt hur ett API kan byggas ovanpå visualiseringen för att göra denna data mertillgänglig..

Det här examensarbetet har gått ut på att hos Saab Systems, en del av koncernen Saab Group, i Linköping vidareutveckla en mätplattform som ska användas för att studera kosmisk strålnings inverkan på RAM-minnen, i detta fall handlar det om minnen av typen DDR2 SDRAM. Kosmisk strålning är något som elektronik utsätts för då den finns i ett flygburet system på hög höjd, den här strålningen finns även nere på jorden till viss del men det är inte förens på hög höjd som det blir ett problem. Strålningen kan ge upphov till bit fel i minnena, att en nolla ändras till en etta eller tvärtom. Detta är exempel på mjuka fel, det kan även uppstå så kallade hårda fel där själva hårdvaran tar skada. Att elektroniken idag blir av mindre och mindre storlek ger tyvärr upphov till ökad känslighet mot den här typen av strålning, något som ökar behovet för att kunna testa minnen ordentligt innan de används i flygplan, vilket skulle kunna genomföras med en sådan här mätplattform.Mätplattformen består av en PowerPC mikrokontroller och mitt uppdrag var att skapa en mjukvara till denna som skulle skrivas i programmeringsspråken C och Assembler.

The purpose of this degree project was to build laboratory equipment for a new course in power electronics that starts this autumn 2010 at Uppsala University. The equipment is intended for student labs and it covers the most important areas of the course including rectifying, buck-/boost-converters and PWM-modulation. It is built as one sealed unit where all the electronics are built-in but visible and it has a connection board where students safely can connect the different circuits. The project has advanced from theoretical studies of circuit design, choosing of components and simulations to drawing the printed circuit board (PCB), soldering, case building, final testing and troubleshooting - basically most steps from an early idea to a final product. Measurements on the final product gave about the same results as the earlier simulations of the circuits and the result is overall satisfying..

Syfte och frågeställningar: Studiens syfte är att undersöka hur internetanvändares medvetenhet, uppfattningar och attityder kring övervakning på internet ser ut. Övervakning i  form av insamling och kartläggning av data, genom cookies. Metod och material: En kvantitativ enkätundersökning och kvalitativa djupintervjuer har genomförts. Huvudresultat: Internetanvändare är medvetna om insamlingen, men inte om kartläggningen, av data på internet. Respondenterna och intervjupersonerna uppfattade och associerade cookies med personifierad annonsering, men reflekterade sällan över det.
