Elitskon? is a new type of horseshoe for trotters. It is supposed to give the horse a trot that mimics the movement pattern of a horse trotting unshod. Many horses show a better trot unshod but this can only be used to a limited extent due to the great wear and tear of the hoof. The objective of this study was to evaluate whether the qualities of Elitskon? are similar to the unshod horse or the traditional aluminium horseshoe.

This thesis work includes studies and simulation how magnetization of the translator in a linear generator for wave power can be automated. The translator is the moving component in the generator that is "dressed" with permanent magnets. The translator is magnetized with rectangle-shaped permanent magnets that are today's strongest permanent magnet type of neodymium-iron-boron (NdFeB).Eight equivalent metal sheets are mounted around the translator. The plates have milled tracks where 106 permanent magnets per sheet are mounted. Today the assembling of the magnets is done by hand, which is a very tedious and time-consuming work.  This project presents investigations about the automation of the translator magnetization theoretically and simulation results are preformed in ABB's robot simulation software RobotStudio. Even robot-held tool was designed that enables the robot to be able to magnetize the translator in a simple manner.  The investment cost is roughly 1.5 million SEK. With an economic life-time of five years, the investment costs are estimated to 24000 SEK / month.  According to the calculations, this project is very motivated to implement, as it provides savings up to 17 000 SEK per translator which is 10.2 million SEK assuming that the robot cell is operating at full speed the whole year.According to this thesis work the result is a 4x9 meter cell with two industrial robots of the type ABB IRB6650S.The cycle time to magnetize one translator was calculated to about 10 hours.This prototype of project can possibly be implemented in a full-scale production line and performed according to the calculations and simulations presented in the report. The acquisition process as an object for research and empirical studies have increased in importance during the past decade. The purpose of this thesis is to investigate this process further. This was done by reviewing previous research covering the area of mergers and acquisitions. Seven key factors that should be considered in an acquisition process emerged; acquisition project management, planning, communication between the acquirer and the potential target, goal alignment within management, company-cultures, a trade-off between a certain speed in integrating the companies and consideration of the employees, and finally the follow-up. These factors have been shown to increase the likelihood of value creation in acquisitions.

I kölvattnet av Nollvisionen uppstår problem för oskyddade trafikanter. Vid mittseparering av 13-metersvägar blir utrymmet för dessa trafikantgrupper otillräckligt och nya lösningar måste till. Detta examensarbete syftar till att förbättra framkomligheten och trafiksäkerheten för oskyddade trafikanter på s k MLV (Mötesseparerad LandsVäg). Målet med examensarbetet har varit att inventera problem, identifiera förbättringsområden, finna bra lösningar samt att beräkna vilka kostnader som dessa lösningar orsakar.Som ett resultat av arbetet har framkommit att det saknas en nationell samstämmighet i synen på hur oskyddade trafikanter på MLV, skall behandlas. Vidare existerar det en stor fokusering i centrala direktiv, kanske mest inofficiella, på bilisters och transportörers behov vid utformningen av MLV.

This final project discusses renewal and upgrading of the area of Prim. It is discussed how this industrial area can be an attractive neighborhood with a varied range of services and commercial trade. Prim is located 2km north-east of the center of Barcelona. The area boarders to a deep railway valley that historically has separated Prim from its neighboring districts. At present there is almost no housing, services or commercial trade within the area and the industry is discontinued or the existing industrial buildings are derelict.

Detta kandidatarbete syftar till att studera glappet mellan samhällets aktörers mål och de yttre förutsättningar och attityder som individens färdmedelsval påverkas av. Fokus ligger på hur glappet mellan samhällets aktörer och individens färdmedelsval avseende cykling kan förminskas genom förändringar av ett befintligt hyrcykelsystem. Problematiken studeras utifrån en fallstudie av hyrcykelsystem Styr & Ställ, som Göteborgs Stad inrättat för att individen ska välja cykel i sitt färdmedelsval. Genom förbättringar på hyrcykelsystemet, med fokus på de yttre förutsättningar och attityder som individen har, kan andelen individer som väljer hyrcykel i deras färdmedelval öka och glappet mellan samhällets aktörers mål och individens färdmedelsval minska. En metodkombination av litteraturstudie, dokumentstudie och intervjuer har genomförts för att besvara examensarbetets frågeställningar och på så sätt belysa arbetets syfte.

Within process or manufacturing industries, the production of goods and services or the products themselves may have negative side effects such as pollution. An important task for environmental policy is to control and limit these pollutions, for example via regulatory measures. Although, the efficiency of such measures vary greatly between different industries and an increasingly important task for environmental policy is then to encourage companies to engage in environmentally motivated innovation. Governments can utilize other measures than regulation to indirectly decrease pollution. This thesis aims to analyze such activities and how it affects the innovativeness of wastewater treatment, refrigeration and automobile manufacturing industries.

Hägglunds Drives in Mellansel, Sweden, manufacture radial piston hydraulic motors foremostwithin applications in the industry. These motors have several sliding contacts, one of these, isthe contact between piston ring and cylinder bore. The radial piston hydraulic motors advantageis to produce high torque in very low rotation velocity, this result in that the maximum slidingvelocity between piston ring and cylinder bore, during the whole stroke, is very low. Theconsequence of this low sliding velocity is that the contact between piston ring and cylinderbore, during the whole stroke, is bound to the boundary lubrication regime. This result in, thatthe piston ring is exposed to wear, thus affect the service life of the complete hydraulic motor.To minimize wear of piston ring, it is essential to determine the oil film thickness between thepiston ring and cylinder bore.

Tycho Hedéns Väg in Uppsala has evolved from being a through fare passage and highwayto the oversized road frame running through the city it is today. At the present time, dueto the relocation of the E4 highway east of Uppsala, Tycho Hedéns road creates a barrierbetween the north eastern area of Uppsala and the remaining parts of the city centre. Theroad is designed to endure heavy traffic and high speed limits, generating a surrounding urbanarea were inhabitants are complied to follow the standards set for a high traffic-accessibleenvironment. Fire is an important ecological factor, but its consumption of coarse woody debris, CWD, has hardly received any attention. In this study, I investigate the consumption in relation to the time of initial flame exposure and propensity for continued combustion of standing CWD of pine (Pinus sylvestris). Two types of CWD were studied. Firstly, wood that had been dead for one to ten years. Secondly, wood that had been dead for several decades. In the burning experiments, logs of approx.

The objective of this study was to examine three common mobile phoneplatforms in relation to their network traffic features. The platforms to beexamined are Android, iOS 5 and Windows Phone. After the investigation wascompleted a prototype application was implemented in order to demonstratethese features in the most suitable platform. In 1993 the internal market within the European Union was formed and ensured free movement of goods, services, capital and people. This led to the removal of trade barriers between members of the European Union. When opening up for competition, price differences between countries decreased and more jobs were created. A single currency was introduced by eleven countries in 1999 with the goal of reducing transaction costs, eliminating exchange rate risk and to further simplify trade. In 2001 Greece joined the collaboration and introduced the euro.

The purpose of this thesis was to trace and discuss tendencies in the debate of the computerization of the libraries, in Swedish library press during the period of 1970-1999. The set-out was the issue of how the library journals, as representatives and mouthpieces of a by tradition humanistic profession, coped with a revolutionary innovation related to a field (data technology) which they hadn't any knowledge or even interest in. The examination included three Swedish library journals: Biblioteksbladet with connection to Sweden?s most established library organization (SAB); Bis which is founded upon a socialistic base and; DIK-forum rooted in the union. The analysis of the debate was partly based on three different sets of values related to data and systems development.

Målet med detta arbete är att kartlägga hur svängningar inom kommunikation och formspråk artat sig inom svensk TV-reklam från 1990-talet, då de kommersiella TV-sändningarna började ta mark, fram till idag. Med denna analys av tidigare reklam i ryggen har jag även tagit mig friheten att sia om hur TV-reklam skulle kunna yttra sig under 2020-talet.Den huvudsakliga metoden har bestått av en retrospektiv analys av svensk TV-reklam för att kategorisera de karaktäristiska beståndsdelarna för varje decennium - klargöra var fokus ligger och vilken kommunikationsmodell man valt. När jag hittat den röda tråd som inbegriper de dominerande karaktärsdragen anser jag mig kort och gott ha hittat själva definitionen av respektive decenniums reklam.De definierande karaktärspunkterna har sedan applicerats på ett fiktivt schablonvarumärke, i detta fall ett flaskvatten vars varumärke jag valt att döpa till "100" eftersom innehållet är just 100% vatten. Varje årtionde jag valt att behandla, från 1990-tal till 2010-tal, har fått en egen reklamkampanj utformad efter respektive decenniums karaktärspunkter.Förhoppningen är att hitta cykliska tendenser från 1990-2010-tal och därigenom förutspå hur cykeln skulle kunna ta sig vidare in i 2020-talet. Sannolikheten att 2020-talet fortsätter sin cykel i 1990-talets manér kan ses lika rimlig som att det istället tvärvänder och en ny trend skapas för att forma reklamen för det kommande decenniet.
