Förbättringsarbete mot Lean Production på Tooling Support Halmstad AB

Nowdays an efficient production is critical to achieve for companies competing on the market for steel cutting tools. One of such companies is Halmstad based Tooling Support Halmstad AB that manufactures threading-taps, threading-dies and parting off tools, towards a centralized warehouse in Schiedam, Holland. The large amount of different products, approximately 2500 is a big contributor to the problem along with a new order system that creates a demand of low setup times. Previously the company was forwarded orders through quarter based prognoses which enabled planning of the production over a longer time span. Currently the newer order system ZENIT is in use and the company thereby gets their orders weekly.

The purpose of this thesis is to investigate the two new phenomena; the pricing model Pay-What-You-Want (PWYW) and the launch of daily newspapers in the iPad. A quantitative study was conducted in order to examine what would happen if the PWYW-model where to be used by a daily newspaper for its iPad product, and what this would signal to consumers about the brand in terms of brand association and brand attitude. Furthermore, we have investigated which of these factors that are affecting willingness to pay in this PWYW-situation. Moreover, a secondary purpose was to test the two possible presentations of the digital newspaper in the iPad; Product and Access ? and how the results differed between these two.

I mitt examensarbete har jag arbetat fram en glaskollektion med tema mens. Målet med mitt arbete var dels att höja mensen ur tabut, dels att ge bruksglaset en ny scen. Genom att göra en menskoppsbehållare i transparent glas vill jag ifrågasätta varför vi gömmer och smusslar med våra mensskydd men också varför mensen idag framställs som oren, äcklig och skamlig. Jag vill uppmuntra till att bryta det mönstret, ge den som menstruerar en möjlighet att hylla mensen, sätta den i fokus, på piedestal. Mitt arbete resulterade i ett mensaltare, en tolkning av hur jag tror mensen hade framställts om vi levt i ett matriarkat.

In the spring of 2014 Sweco Systems AB were commissioned to design a ventilation system for a newly built preschool in Linköping. Terms from the client was that it cost efficiency would cope with the energy demands that are placed on the building. The unit chosen was a cross-flow heat exchanger, and this work is to compare it with two other heat exchangers to see if a more energy and cost efficient could have been chosen. The heat exchangers that was chosen for the comparison was a rotating- and a counterflow heat exchanger. Simulations have been made to the different heat exchangers by the manufacturers.

There are also two filial factories in France and China.Today has the company no logistic guidelines committed and that leads to problems since the salesmen promise different things to the customers. This contributes too many different logistic solutions for Isaberg Rapid AB. The company has also noted problems with returns of goods.The purpose with this task is to standardize and compile logistic guidelines, usable to all Isaberg Rapid AB's small to midsize customers.

Syfte: Syftet är att undersöka sambandet mellan kundkort, lojalitet och lönsamhet. Vidare ämnar vi kartlägga lojalitetsskapande åtgärder och hur dessa påverkar lönsamheten. Metod: För att uppfylla det beskrivande syftet med uppsatsen, valde vi att kvalitativt undersöka hur två företag i petroleumbranschen arbetar med lojalitetsprogram. Intervjuer genomfördes med ansvariga för kundkort på AB Svenska Shell och Svenska Statoil AB. Empirin analyserades sedan med hjälp av teorier om Customer Relationship Management, relationsmarknadsföring samt lojalitet och lönsamhet.

Vikten av kunduppföljning för en fastighetsmäklare

Syfte Konkurrensen i fastighetsmäklarbranschen ökar vilket innebär att fastighetsmäklarna blir allt mer beroende av att vårda sina kunder och skapa långsiktiga kundrelationer. Syftet med denna undersökning är att få större kunskap om hur mäklare arbetar med kunduppföljning i det dagliga arbete samt få en djupare förståelse för varför det egentligen är viktigt med uppföljning. Hur arbetar fastighetsmäklare med kunduppföljning i praktiken?MetodUndersökningen är gjord utifrån en kvalitativ metodansats då den huvudsakliga frågeställningen i undersökningen kräver en beskrivning av verkligheten. Intervjuer, med en låg grad av strukturering och standardisering, har gjorts med fastighetsmäklare.

Utvärdering av ett värmepumpsystems prestanda till en HWC-tvättmaskin : Med fokus på fläktvarvtal och köldmedieflöde

This report was performed in order to evaluate a new technological measure and focuses generally on a heat pump system to a HWC-washing machine. The client is Asko Appliances AB, a company well known for its environmentally friendly products. The goal of this study was to improve the energy efficiency of a washing machine by combining a heat pump device to the heater of the wash water, in order to reduce the energy consumed for heating the water. Besides reducing the energy consumption in heating the water, the washing machine was required to meet low noise and short operating time specifications. For that purpose, nine trials in three test series have been carried out.

Modell för dimensionering av AGV-system inom tung industri

Interest in the implementation of AGV-systems (Automated Guided Vehicle) has in recent decades increased. The reason is that it allows companies to perform reliably and secure internal transport while reducing the need of personnel. It is one of todays most advanced and complex material handling system that can independently make their own decisions regarding flow paths and traffic control. An AGV-system consists of transport units carrying cargo from point A to point B, and communicates using a computer.The purpose of this study is to develop a model on how to proceed in order to design an AGV system in heavy industry. The model is tested by a case study of a company in the metal industry to determine if the model works and gives the correct result.

Expansion av existerande spelsystem : Erfarna spelare kontra nybörjare

Detta arbete exponerar den problematik som existerar för spelutvecklare med avseende på att både erfarna och nya spelare ska tillgodoses i vidareutvecklingen av spelkoncept. I anknytning till detta diskuteras flow-teorin som kan sammanfattas som den optimala upplevelsen där balansen mellan utmaning och skicklighet är perfekt. Teorin ligger till grund för analysen och varför designfilosofin ?intern expansion? undersöks som en eventuell lösning på problemet. Det som undersöks är designfilosofins potential att generera en likvärdig upplevelse för både erfarna och nya spelare.

The purpose of this study is to investigate and increase the understanding of how the two commercial companies IKEA and SAS and the two aid organizations/nonprofit organizations UNICEF and Save the Children use perceptions of Christmas to produce messages in their Christmas advertising/commercial film. The study also discusses if there may be communicative and pictorial similarities and differences in how these brands constructs messages in commercials, and why it may be that the brands choose to use these messages in commercials based on the recipient possible interpretations. The theories used in this study are promotional culture, framing theory, preferred meaning, semiotics (denotation and connotation), myth and rhetoric (ethos, pathos and logos). The method used to answer the purpose and issues are the qualitative method that uses the theories semiotic and rhetoric to analyze the material. The study's results derived from the qualitative content analyzes of the material (the brands IKEA, SAS, UNICEF and Save the Children Christmas advertising films) show that IKEA message might want to show that they want to help the customer and that they pay attention to the customer needs.

The aim of this Masters thesis is to investigate the factors that contribute to childrens feelings of enjoyment and wellbeing while reading pleasure reading. The research is founded on qualitative interviews with eight children aged between 9 and 12 years. In the review of the literature different theories of reading experiences are examined and the theory of flow is used to analyse and interpret childrens statements of reading experiences. The theory of flow has not been developed to investigate reading but aims to describe and explain when and how people experience happiness and joy. The results of this study reveal that many different factors influence childrens reading.

The Swedish boat industry is considered quite conservative and subject to only limited development. The purpose of the study is to explain the structure of the boat industry, to analyze and evaluate ways of competing and provide recommendations for developing a competitive strategy. The aim of this thesis is to explain how to be competitive in the Swedish boat industry. To be able to do so three areas are used to deepen as well as broaden the understanding. The three areas within competitiveness we have chosen to highlight are differentiation, individualization and distribution.
