Kan man tala om en norm utan att befästa den? : En diskursanalys i hur homosexualitet behandlas i läromedel riktade till skolans senare år.
The purpose of this essay has been to investigate the research and national initiatives regarding film and Cineliteracy in the Swedish curriculum.The results show that, after all research, national initiatives and the continual clarification from the Swedish National Agency for Education concerning film's place in the Swedish subject, the vision of students cineliteracy not at all obtain an obvious place in the curriculum.The research points out the main causes behind this result to be teachers' lack of expertise and the fact that the formal education for future teachers in the subject still upholds traditional views on the subject of Swedish.The initiative presented in this essay also show lack of continuity, lack of adequate professional development opportunities for teachers and lack of practical guidance manuals to help teachers to develop and educate their pupils in line with current research and visions. .
Från Tahrirtorget till ett(o)demokratiskt Egypten? : -Demokratins förutsättningar och utmaningar i Egypten, efter den arabiska våren 2011
The aim of this bachelor thesis is to through a theoretical analyze, investigate the conditions and the challenges for a consolidated democracy in Egypt from 1952 until after the revolution of 2011. The central question in this thesis is what opportunities and challenges are there for the democratic consolidation in Egypt, with respect to civic, political and economic conditions. How have the conditions developed between 1952 and 2011? How has the transition government/military government handled the central problems in the transitions phase after 2011? The theory used in this analysis is Linz and Stepans famous five arenas (the political society, the economic society, the civil society, the bureaucracy and the state of rule, whit focus on the three first). Through a qualitative case study we have analyzed the conditions in Egypt from 1952 to after the revolution 2011.The empirical material shows that the arenas in Egypt are both historically and current very weak, and they are not supporting democratic consolidation as they are challenged by several enormous problems.
Estetik och funktion i stadsplaneringen : Substitut eller komplement?
This master thesis summarizes contemporary theories on secularization processes in the Western world, and compares these with the example of Sweden, which by many scholars is considered to be the most secularized country in the Western world.I do this by dividing the most influential theorists in five different groups. In each group I explain how the theorists formulate and motivate their positions. These groups are:1) The secularization paradigm, where secularization always accompanies modernization. (Therorists: Steve Bruce and Peter Berger (in the 1960s)2) The paradigm basically accepted, but revised to depend on existential security, rather than modernisation as such. (Pippa Norris and Ronald Inglehart)3) Religion returned in the public sphere.
Naturvetenskap ? en naturlig del av förskolan? : En kvantitativ studie kring förskollärares upplevelser av uppnåendet av de naturvetenskapliga målen
Med anledning av att riksdagen år 2010 fastslog en ny läroplan för förskolan, Läroplan för förskolan 98 reviderad 2010, Lpfö 98 (rev. 2010), där målen kring naturvetenskap inom förskolan skärptes ställdes även högre krav på förskollärare. Istället för ett natur-vetenskapligt mål blev det nu tre mål som förskolan skulle sträva efter att uppnå. Denna studie syftar till att undersöka huruvida personal i förskolverksamheten upple-ver sig kunna uppnå målen i Lpfö 98 (rev, 2010). Vad de anser är viktiga argument för naturvetenskap i förskolan samt vad de tror är anledningen till att tidigare studier visat på att undervisningen inom naturvetenskap inom förskolan är bristfällig.
Användandet av poesi i undervisningen : effekter på barns språkutveckling
The study focuses on the use of poetry in language teaching in the lower grades in the Swedish school. Poetry has a reputation of being an art form with such specific rules and structures that children and teachers think that it is something that they do not have the ability to work with. The purpose of this study is to get an understanding of how poetry is used in educating children. My research is based on the following questions. To which extent is poetry being used in schools and how is it being used?Can you as a teacher see any effects on childrens language development by using poetry?As a part of my study I have met with and interviewed four different people, who in one way or another is involved in teaching children. Two working teachers in the lower grades, one pedagogical resource and one artist that work with teachers in reaching different goals through the help of aesthetic processes.
Musiklärares inställning till IKT i sin undervisning : en studie med komparativ ansats mellan Nya Zeeland och Sverige
The aim in this thesis is to study what attitude music teachers in Sweden and New Zealand have towards Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in music education and obtain a better understanding of how their attitudes affect the way they use ICT in their teaching. Another intention is to discuss differences and similarities between the teachers´ preferences regarding this issue in the two different countries, and whether it has any effect on teaching. It's a qualitative study based on interviews with music teachers from both countries. Through the answers we can get an impression about how ICT is used in music education, how the curriculum is interpreted when it comes to use ICT in music education and how the teachers' attitudes towards ICT affect the music education. This thesis shows that teachers are positive towards ICT in music education but the attitude, knowledge and the way of using it differs, due to access to technology and different opinions about what is essential in music and what is pedagogical.

Uppsatsen ?Maktrelation stat och kommun: debatten om den kommunala självstyrelsen 2004-2010? är en beskrivande idéanalys som utifrån tidningars debatt- och ledarartiklar undersöker synen på förhållandet mellan stat och kommun i Sverige. År 2004 startades en grundlagsutredning i vilken frågan om den kommunala självstyrelsen ingick. Utredningen resulterade i en reformerad grundlag som antogs år 2011. Denna uppsats analyserar de argument för och emot kommuners ökade självstyre som fördes fram i debatten under denna tid.
Lag 2010:879 om allmännyttiga kommunala bostadsaktiebolag : Hur den implementerats av aktörerna
Bakgrund:Den första januari 2011 trädde lagen om allmännyttiga kommunala bostadsaktiebolag i kraft. Dess ändamål var att jämställa konkurrensen sinsemellan de privata fastighetsägarna och de allmännyttiga kommunala bostadaktiebolagen. Lagen yrkade främst på att de allmännyttiga kommunala bostadsaktiebolagen skulle agera mer affärsmässigt för att konkurrensen inte skulle snedvridas. Kommunen som ägare var bland annat tvungen att ställa tydligare krav på bolagen genom att ta ut marknadsmässiga borgensavgifter och låneräntor samt ställa marknadsmässiga avkastningskrav.Frågan är nu hur de allmännyttiga kommunala bostadsaktiebolagen agerat utifrån dessa nya förutsättningar sedan lagen trädde i kraft den 1 januari 2011. Uppsatsen syftar till att undersöka hur den nya lagen om allmännyttiga kommunala bostadsaktiebolag har implementerats av aktörerna på bostadshyresmarknaden.
Kristendomens särställning i religionsläroböcker : en komparativ studie av hur kristendomen och dess tre inriktningar framställs i religionsläroböcker anpassade till Lpo 94 och Lgr 11
Christianity has for a long time played a significant role in the Swedish school system, which can be seen in the syllabus of the course religion in 2011 where Christianity got a special status and the Christian alignments were explicit named. The aim of this essay was to see whether, and if so how, Christianity and its three alignments ? Catholicism, Orthodoxy and Protestantism ? had developed a greater impact in religion textbooks for grades 7?9 adapted to Lgr 11 compared to Lpo 94 and partly to see if there had been any changes and to what extent. The main question concerned whether Christianity had a greater impact in religion textbooks adapted to Lgr 11 than Lpo 94 and how Christianity could be seen as culture-religion. The sub-questions concerned whether there was any differences in what Christianity is and to what extent Christianity were represented in religion textbooks, but also if any difference to what range the three alignments where represented. The study consisted of six religion textbooks for grades 7?9, where three were adapted to Lpo 94 and three to Lgr 11.

The aim of this study is to investigate how multiple tree handling harvesters perform compared to earlier developed standards. The study shows that multiple tree handling harvesters are more efficient in thinnings stands with mean stock volumes less than 0,12 m3fub per stock. The increased efficiency is different for different mean stem classes. In stands with a mean stem volume of 0,04 m3fub per stock, the increase can be as high as 40 percent while it is about 10 percent in stands with a mean stem volume of 0,12 m3fub.
Comparisons have been done between stands that are felled with partly limbed stands and stands without partly limbed assortments. The difference in performance is clear and shows that the partly limbed assortments strengthen the multiple tree handling harvesters positive effects in low dimension thinnings.

Genom kunskaper om historien förstår vi nuet : En kvalitativ studie om gymnasieelevers uppfattningar av historieämnet
The purpose of this survey is to better understand how students in Swedish upper secondary school perceive knowledge in history. 44 students from two different schools took part in the survey. The students partaking were asked to make a rough plan for a course in history, in which they were to both suggest contents of the course and also motivate their choice of content by arguing their view of the purpose of knowledge in history. The results of the survey were then compared to the curriculum of the history subject. The survey shows that a majority of the students asked find modern history, especially World War 1 & 2, and Swedish history to be of importance.
Synliggöra språket : Dynamisk självreglerande korrigerande (DSK) återkoppling - en aspekt av lärande bedömning i gymnasieämnet svenska som andraspråk
I studien prövas en ny undervisningsmetod i svenska som andraspråk kallad kortskrivande med dynamisk självreglerande korrigerande återkoppling (DSK), vilken gett goda resultat i en pilotstudie. I linje med Evans m.fl. (2010) tas på ett unikt sätt hänsyn till tre kontextuella variabler: metodologiska, individuella och situationella, vid korrigerande återkoppling i andraspråksundervisning. DSK anpassas här till gymnasiet utifrån Bitchener & Ferris (2012), Sheen (2011), Brookhart (2010), Hattie & Timperley (2007) och den nya ämnesplanen i svenska som andraspråk gymnasiekurs 2.Genom metodtriangulering, främst enkät, intervju och deltagande observationer, undersöks studerandes upplevelser av DSK. I analysen studeras hur olika inlärare gynnas eller missgynnas av olika individuella och kontextuella variabler föreslagna i aktuell forskning.I resultatet framkommer att de studerande är positiva till DSK.
Individualisering i undervisningen : Fyra lärares uppfattning om och arbete med individualisering
The purpose of this study is to increase the knowledge of individualism also how individualism is applied in a teacher?s classroom. Based on the curriculum, teaching is tailored to each and every student?s expectations and needs. My research has been qualitative and includes four interviews with practicing teachers in two multi-cultural schools in the city of Stockholm. I have investigated how these four teachers perceive individualism, also how they individualize when teaching to meet all students' expectations and needs according to them.
Religionskunskapsämnet i förändring : en historisk exposé samt nutida jämförelser
AbstractThe purpose with this essay is to present a picture of the changes in religious education in Sweden, and to make comparisons between Denmark?s and the USA?s model about teaching in religion. I have consequently described the historical development, with the beginning of the establishement of the public school, inte the year of 1842. 1919, a new document about the religious education was released, wich result in some major changes. This was in a time were the debate about religion and the Lutheran State Church of Sweden authority was an issue.
