Renal dysplasi (RD) is a congenital chronic renal disease affecting young dogs. It is a rather common disease that occurs in a large number of dogs and in some breeds there is a familiar incidence or suspected hereditary background. Both the etiology and pathogenesis are still unknown, but a theory about the cause of RD is that the two components that form the kidney, the uretheric bud and the metanephrogenic blastema, don´t interact normally in the embryo. Kidneys affected by RD contain fetal (immature) structures that are inappropriate for the state of development/age of the dog and abnormal structures caused by an abnormal differentiation. In today's society there are a lot of offers towards consumers, where they actively have to choose the most appealing offer. In order for an offer to be attractive it must add value in line with the customers demand. Also, it requires that the offer provides a sufficient level of attraction so that the customer selects the particular product/service over another. Furthermore, each offer must exceed the expectations of the visitors to an event, so they feel that the event is something "extraordinary". We have chosen to study how LHC (Linkoping Hockey Club) works with marketing in order to improve the overall customer experience.

Följande arbete undersöker den abnormala avvikelsen på olika företags aktiekurser i samband med respektive VD avgångar. Undersökningen utförs med syfte att hitta möjliga mönster för VD avgångars påverkan på aktiekurser, där dagen för ett pressmeddelande angående en VD avgång nämns som händelsedagen. Den normala avvikelsen utgörs av standardavvikelsen mellan aktiekurs utvecklingen för varje bolag och ett generellt branschindex under ett tio dagars händelsefönster. Den abnormala avvikelsen framförs i att forma av skillnaden mellan den normala avvikelsen och standard avvikelsen för samma variabler under händelsedagen. Undersökningen delar upp de observerade företagen i två kategorier i avgränsnings syfte, dessa två typer framförs som Typ av Avgång samt bransch.

Syfte med detta arbete är att undersöka huruvida avkastningsberäkning för en datalagerinvestering bör göras, hur det kan göras och om det görs. Vidare avses att undersöka om generella kalkylmetoder kan användas av företag, oavsett storlek, som avser att starta datalagerinvesteringsprojekt. Datalagerteknologin har ännu en hög utvecklingstakt och detta medför ofta höga utvecklingskostnader i samband med investeringar inom datalager.Undersökningen baseras på en kombinerad dokumentstudie och enkätundersökning. Dokumentstudien belyser den problematik vilken förknippas med problemområdet. Enkätundersökningen fokuseras mot olika större organisationer såsom banker, post och dagligvaruhandeln, vilka idag använder sig av datalager.

Between 1860 and 1940 approximately 1,1 million Swedish citizens emigrated to North America. But over 200 000 of them returned to Sweden. In this essay I have tried to estimate the impact of these people on the Swedish society. To make a deeper analyze possible, I have studied the parish of Glima?kra in southern Sweden and tried to trace the immigrants? lives after their return to Sweden and thus estimate their impact on society.By statistical analysis of migrants between Sweden and USA and between the parish of Glima?kra and USA I have concluded that the result can be used as a model for Sweden on a national basis.

Background: Prediabetes is caused by relative insulin deficiency and insulin resistance in the body tissue which leads to abnormal blood glucose levels. Prediabetes can over time lead to type 2 diabetes mellitus. To prevent the onset of type 2 diabetes and its complications, it is important to identify early elevated blood glucose levels and thereby prediabetes.Objective: To describe nurses' knowledge and experience regarding the management of patients with prediabetes.Methods: Qualitative descriptive design with individual interviews. Three nurses, three community health nurses and three diabetes nurses were interviewed.Results: The result can be understood from the nurses' experiences of encountering patients with prediabetes. An overarching theme in the analysis was that the nurses are working or aspiring to work preventively.

In the school subject of the natural sciences it is imperative that the students are given opportunities to ?talk science?, since the dialogues that occur in the classroom have a significant importance for the students? abilities to engage in meaning-making in their learning process. Hence, the student and teacher interaction in the classroom and the feedback given there play a significant role in the students? learning process. The aim of this study is to contribute to the development of formative assessment tools that can mediate the students? meaning-making in natural sciences subjects in upper-secondary school.

This thesis aims to investigate if there are any differences in the value relevance of yearly earnings announcements before (2000-2004) and after (2005-2009) IFRS were implemented for listed companies in the European Union. To assess the value relevance of earnings, an earnings response coefficient (ERC) is estimated using a linear OLS-regression model. The regression model uses accounting earnings per share as the explaining variable, with the corresponding return starting from (but not including) the previous year's earnings announcement date, ending at (and including) the current earnings announcement date, as the dependent variable. This study finds that there is no statistically significant difference between the estimated ERCs for the two periods. Although no statistically significant difference is found, data shows that the R2-values, which measure the explanatory power of the regressions, are higher for the period before IFRS.

Bakgrund: Mycket forskning har riktats mot att undersöka hur börskursen påverkas vid tillkännagivandet av företagsförvärv. Inga studier har dock undersökt om det finns någon skillnad mellan hög- och lågkonjunktur eller om det skiljer sig mellan olika branscher.Syfte: Studien syftar till att undersöka hur börskursen för det uppköpan-de företaget påverkas vid tillkännagivandet av ett företagsförvärv under två konjunkturscyklar. Vidare syftar studien till att under-söka om det föreligger skillnader i börskursens utveckling bero-ende på vilken bransch företagsförvärvet genomförts i.Genomförande: Sekundärdata om företagsförvärv har samlats in från en företags-förvärvsdatabasen Zephyr samt börskursverktygen Google Fi-nance och Yahoo Finance. Dessa data har sedan sammanställts och kategoriserats för att räkna ut den abnormala avkastning för högkonjunkturen (2007) och lågkonjunkturen (2008/2009). Dessa data har sedan använts för att undersöka om det föreligger några skillnader mellan konjunkturscyklerna och de olika branscherna.Resultat: Det fanns skillnader i hur marknaden reagerade vid tillkännagi-vandet av ett företagsförvärv under hög- och lågkonjunkturen.

The purpose of this study was to find out what different groups of visitors do when they are at Borås City Library. Three issues were formulated from the purpose and they were: What do users do when they visit the City Library in Borås? What occupations do those who visit the library have? What similarities and differences are there in the use of the library depending on the visitors? occupations? To answer these questions a questionnaire was handed out among the visitors at Borås City Library. The theory that was used when the material was analyzed comes from the book?Gør biblioteket en forskel?? and the book is written by Henrik Jochumsen and Casper Hveneegaard Rasmussen.

Hospital records of 32 non-racehorses referred to Skara Animal Hospital and Halland Animal Hospital, Sweden, between January 1995 and September 2001 for intraarticular fractures of the third phalanx, were reviewed, and follow-up information on final outcome was collected to determine whether any injury or treatment factors could be associated with the outcome. Mean age of the horses was 8.3 years (range, 1-20 years), and follow-up time ranged from 1 to 7 years after injury. In 11 (34%) of the horses, injury involved the front limbs. Twenty-two (69%) horses returned to their original level of use. There was no statistically significant correlation between outcome and elapsed time from injury to treatment, treatment variables, or bony union in the present study.

The thesis handles the principal-agency problem between shareholders and the Chief Executive Officer. The purpose of the thesis was to examine the link between CEO compensation and corporate performance measured as a change in Market to Book ratio. Data was collected from corporate annual reports between the years 2000 ? 2008 and the study covers 39 Swedish companies from the Stockholm Stock Exchange Large Cap list. To examine whether there is a link between the CEO´s compensation and firm performance, we performed a regression analysis, and no significant relation is found.

Over the past two decades, trends of integration processes in terms of citizens of different ethnicities, different gender and different sexual belongings, etc. has grown thanks to debates and new legislations. A marginalized and discriminated group in society such as women, immigrants, homosexuals, transsexuals and people with disabilities during this time has gained momentum in the community. The curiosity over whether these developments have changed our attitudes and values to the world around us, and if so how, is the reason for this master's thesis in disability studies.The Swedish development forms the basis for my belief on a younger generation of people who would be more tolerant than previous generations, in terms of what is considered to belong to the norm in our society, or not. The purpose of this study is therefore to increase knowledge about what beliefs young people today have about people with disabilities.

Syftet med denna uppsats är att undersöka hur annonseringar om reporänteförändringar påverkar aktiekursen för banker och kommersiella fastighetsbolag samt om räntenivån har en långsiktig effekt på dessa branschers risk gentemot marknaden. Vidare ska det fastställas om det förekommer abnormala avkastningar för dessa två branscher gentemot marknaden vid annonseringstillfälle. Studien använder sig av en eventstudiemetodologi med sekundär data där tillkännagivanden angående ränteförändringar från Riksbanken används som eventdag från perioden 2000-2009. Sju företag från OMX Large Cap är indelade i två sektorer där den abormala avkastningen från varje bolag beräknas för att se om det förekommer några skillnader gentemot ett marknadsindex. Vidare undersöks hur den årliga räntenivån påverkar beta och volatiliteten för banker och fastighetsbolag på längre sikt.Undersökningen finner en statistiskt signifikant men svag positiv korrelation mellan reporänteförändringar och banker där dock inga avgörande slutsatser angående orsaken till detta kan fastställas. Kommersiella fastighetsbolag visar ingen signifikant korrelation mellan ränteförändringar och kumulativa abnormala avkastningar gentemot ett marknadsindex.

In this thesis we have examined Västra Götalandsregionens ways to lobby and network in the European Union. Our aim was to examine which kind of methods the region uses to lobby in a successful way in Brussels. We found that the region uses both formal and informal methods of lobbying to gain advantages in Brussels. We also wanted to locate various networks which the region is involved in to more easily have their interests satisfied. We found that they had a lot of different alliances and that it is necessary to be involved in different networks to have a chance to lobby the EU institutions.
