Abstract One of the leading causes of food borne infections in the world is due to Salmonella by con-suming poultry products including eggs and meat. According to US Food and Drug Admin-istration (2009), 2 to 4 million cases of Salmonellosis in humans occur every year only in US. Salmonella causes wide range of diseases with enteric and typhoid fever, food poisoning, di-arrhea and gastro-enteritis. Many serotypes of Salmonella do not have host specificity and cause disease in all kinds of animals and humans. Salmonella has capability to modify accord-ing to the changing environment and it can develop resistance against routine elimination practices of sanitation, chemical treatments and antibacterial drugs. Newly established poultry industries in Pakistan are confronting various infectious diseases including Salmonellosis while in Sweden Salmonella prevalence in animal products con-sumed for humans is extremely low.

Sleep is essential for all mammals and they all have different sleep patterns. Wild horses normally spend 2-8.5% of a 24-hour period in recumbent position while stabled horses lie down 11-20%. To fulfil the need of rapid eye movement (REM) sleep the horse must lie down with support against the ground for the head. The lying behavior can be affected by external stimuli such as age, food intake, bedding materials and if the horses feel safe or not. This study investigates the lying behavior of horses on different bedding materials; wood shavings and filled rubber mats (HIT SoftBed®).

För att finna långsiktigt hållbara lösningar på hur människan kan leva och utvecklas utan att belasta miljön har forskare utvecklat en gestaltningsmetod som möjliggör efterlikning av naturens lösningar. Metoden kallas biomimik, ett ord som härstammar från grekiskans bios som betyder levande och mimesis som betyder imitera. Förutom att beskriva en konkret metod så används även begreppet biomimik för att beskriva ett generellt förhållningssätt till naturen som förebild i gestaltningsprocessen. Trots biomimikens potentiella användbarhet kvarstår frågan hur implementerbar metoden är inom arkitekturkåren. Syftet med detta examensarbete är att föreslå ett förhållningssätt till biomimik samt undersöka på vilket, eller vilka sätt biomimik kan bidra till att stärka den gestaltande landskapsarkitektens arbetsmetodik. Arbetets huvudfråga har varit: På vilket sätt, och i vilka delar av landskapsarkitektens arbetsmetodik, kan biomimik implementeras i en gestaltningsprocess? Det analysen påvisar är att biomimik som gestaltningsmetod inte är ett komplett redskap som kan ersätta vårt traditionella arbetssätt. Till det finns två huvudsakliga anledningar: processen är tidskrävande och metoden är ett designverktyg för produkter snarare än miljöer som inte hanterar samtliga, för landskapsarkitekten relevanta hållbarhetsaspekter.

Uppsatsen syftar till att undersöka ungdomars reception av fenomenet manga/anime på ett etnografiskt arbetssätt, avgränsat med begreppet ungdomskultur. Fokus ligger på två mangayttringar som närmast berör ungdomar: sh?jo för flickor och sh?nen för pojkar. Resultatet redovisas i tre olika teman: Estetik/Stil, Makt/Könsroller och Berättelser/Myter,vilka tolkas med hjälp av ett raster på textuell, kontextuell och sociohistorisk nivå.Undersökningen är kvalitativ med sju ungdomar som informanter, och empirin består avfältanteckningar, fotodokumentation och intervjuer.Ungdomarnas fascination av mangaserier kan delvis förklaras med att de ritas i ett utstuderat ?filmiskt? maner, med snabba bildväxlingar och många olika bildvinklar, och delvis med att läsaren kan följa protagonistens utveckling under många år, parallellt med sin egen utveckling till ett vuxnare jag.

Vad är egentligen hållbar stadsutveckling och kommer vi i framtiden att kunna planera stadsmiljöer som har en positiv inverkan, på både natur och människa, i stället för en negativ? En av de grundläggande principerna för designteorin Cradle to Cradle är att vi ska agera hållbart i stället för mindre ohållbart. Dock är teorin ännu relativt outforskad inom fysisk planering. Utöver att undersöka Cradle to Cradle som designteori för hållbar stadsutveckling är syftet med uppsatsen att dess resultat och slutsatser ska kunna utgöra verktyg för hållbar fysisk planering. Uppsatsen syftar också till att inspirera med innovativa idéer och lösningar i den byggda miljön. Uppsatsen inleds med en teoretiskt grundad diskussion kring vad som kan utgöra normativa principer för hållbar stadsutveckling. Efter en grundlig objektiv översikt av Cradle to Cradle ställs designteorin i relation till de normer som ställts upp. Intentionerna med Cradle to Cradle är goda men designteorin är i dag främst inriktad mot ekologisk och ekonomisk hållbarhet och den viktiga sociala aspekten är inte utvecklad. För ett förverkligande av teorins visioner skulle en övergång till Cradle to Cradle, som står för det vi kallar ekologisk modernisering, behöva ske parallellt med beteendeförändring genom ett ifrågasättande av de normer, för till exempel produktion och konsumtion, som vi lever efter i dag.

The visions of the United Nations concerning sustainable development and conservation of biodiversity can only be realized if the human population succeeds in creating coexistence between human and wildlife. Landscape architects are able to influence on how landscapes are to be maintained and developed. The negative impact of infrastructure on wildlife has become a critical problem in Sweden and other parts of Europe. Wildlife crossings has been developed as a solution for the problems of road barriers in the landscape. The crossings are made to give animals a better opportunity to cross roads.

Denna fallstudie syftar till att undersöka och förstå hur det organisationella köpbeteendet för små och medelstora företag vid köp av molntjänster kan karaktäriseras. Molntjänster är ett område som vuxit snabbt det senaste decenniet i samband med att säljande organisationer börjat inse värdet i att komplettera sina redan existerande fysiska produkter med mer lönsamma tjänster. Affärsmodellen för molntjänsteföretag riktar sig mot små och medelstora företag för att ge företagen tillgång till komplexa och dyra mjukvaror genom att hyra dessa månadsvis. Då forskningen kring organisationellt köpbeteende hade sin storhetstid för över 50 år sedan finns det ett tydligt gap mellan detta område och ny teknologi som ständigt utvecklas.Med stöd av redan existerande teoretiska modeller har författarna samlat in, sammanställt och analyserat empiri från företag som under de senaste 12 månaderna genomgått en inköpsprocess för att få tillgång till en eller flera molntjänster. Empirin har samlats in genom tre semi-strukturerade intervjuer med små och medelstora kunder (SME) till Dialect AB.

This final thesis is performed on commission of Torsby forestry administration, Stora Enso Skog. Stora Enso Skog is one of the major forestry companies of Sweden. The main business area is located in and around the region of Bergslagen. During the last decade the practice of forest management has rapidly changed due to a new forest legislation. The new law has resulted in that the production goal is equal to the environmental goal within forestry.

Syftet med studien var att undersöka och analysera löneprocessen vid LKAB. Detta med fokus på de moment som rör interaktionen mellan chef och medarbetare. För att uppnå syftet har tolv kvalitativa intervjuer gjorts med chefer och fackligt förtroendevalda. Intervjuerna med de fackligt förtroendevalda är främst för att skapa en bild av dagsläget samt för att få en ökad förståelse för löneprocessen sett ur deras synvinkel. Resultatet visar på att det finns en tvetydighet i direktiven vilket skapar en osäkerhet bland både chefer och medarbetare.

This Master of Science thesis was completed at the Department of Machine Design at the Royal Instituteof Technology in Stockholm in collaboration with Lund Faculty of Engineering, Luleå University ofTechnology and Stanford University. At Stanford University a global product development project wasrealized as part of the course ME310. The project was initiated by the American company ImmerseGlobal whose vision was to develop a new type of Atmospheric Water Generators, a machine that absorbsthe moisture in the air and via a water system transforms it to pure drinking water. The project was partlyfinanced by the Product Innovation Engineering program, a Swedish research and development programfor increased innovation capability in organizations.In parallel with the global project in the ME310 course the product development process was studied inorder to compare it with a product development course at the Royal Institute of Technology, IPU. Thetwo courses are similar to each other in several aspects.

To understand and explain how the borderland between civil and corporate societies areconstructed and reproduced in the organisations subjectivity. I want to study the navigationsand interpretations of the different actors in the field in an explorative manner.? How do the leaders of the organisations interpret governing and strategic management? Whatconcepts are used? How is the leadership constructed?How do they discuss the demands of management and structure coming from outside theorganisations? How are the organisations shaped by accountability and normative conceptions of leadership?What is their view on the demands coming from within the organisations? What role does thedemocratic governance body have in relation to the employees and the management?What is their view on employment, relations with trade unions and employer associations andthe managerial position of the organisations?The Swedish context with strong emphasis on membership and democratic rights for themembers and volunteers has not gained a large impact on the international researchconcerning non-profit management. Instead the service delivering organisations working withgovernment contract and hired recruiters and volunteer management is in focus. This makes ita very interesting area of research.
