Atopisk dermatit (AD) är en kliande, inflammatorisk hudsjukdom som beror på allergi. Det är en av de vanligaste orsakerna till hudsjukdom hos hund. Många inflammatoriska mediatorer har påståtts spela en roll i patogenesen av atopisk dermatit, och den viktigaste vasoaktiva mediatorn är histamin. Farmakologisk behandling av AD inriktar sig på symtomen där glukokortikoidbehandling är vanligast och effektivt men tyvärr förknippad med många biverkningar. Kompletterande läkemedel som till exempel antihistaminer behövs därför.

Summary The estate of Johannishus is situated in the south of Sweden and in the province of Blekinge, about 8 kilometres from the city of Ronneby. The main building together with the park represents the province´s only example of a well preserved estate environment from the early 1800th Century, and was declared as a historic monument in 1982 because of its unique role in the province. Johannishus Park has during 300 years developed in close relation to the main building, the landscape and the surrounding infrastructure. Each century and owner has had an influence on the park, which has resulted in an interesting visible cross-section of 300 years of Swedish garden history. Most noticeable today are the traces from late 19th Century, but in its oldest parts the park contains structures from the early 18th Century.

Antihistaminer utgör ibland en del av behandlingen av hundar som lider av atopisk dermatit (AD), en allergisjukdom som ger hudinflammation. Den mest effektiva farmakologiska behandlingen av AD är glukokortikoider. Denna är dock förknippad med många biverkningar varav flera kan vara allvarliga. För att kunna minska glukokortikoiddosen hos de behandlade hundarna behövs kompletterande läkemedel. Läkemedel ur gruppen antihistaminer används i stor utsträckning vid allergiska tillstånd hos människa och även försöksvis till hund men det finns ett behov av studier för dessa preparat givna till hund.

Stavning handlar ej enbart om att stava rätt! Att lära sig stava kan vara en hjälp i en individs läs- och skrivutveckling. Genom att lära sig stava kan det bli lättare att lära sig läsa, samtidigt som läsningen kan bidra till att lära sig stava. Genom att skriva kan en elev lära sig stava bättre samtidigt som goda stavningskunskaper kan skapa en känsla av trygghet och säkerhet i skriftspråket som gör att han/hon vill skriva. Syftet med studien är att ta reda på när, hur och varför lärare arbetar med stavning i de tidiga skolåren och att skapa en överblick över olika synsätt på stavning samt hur dessa kan påverka undervisningen. Studien tar upp stavning ur olika perspektiv, från det teoretiska till det praktiska samt hur elever uppfattar stavning.

Denna rapport presenterar det examensarbete som gjorts i samarbete med företaget Artimplant. Syftet med arbetet är att ta fram en prototyp av ett meniskimplantat i trikåteknik. Det kräver stickning av en given form och att prototypen ska inneha vissa egenskaper.Ämnesområden som berörs under arbetets gång är textiltillverkning med inriktning mot väfttrikå samt medicinsk textil. Förutom textila ämnesområden tas även ämnen som knäledens anatomi och meniskens uppbyggnad, funktion och skador upp. Kunskaper inom dessa områden krävs för att på bästa sätt ta fram prototyper av meniskimplantat.Att sticka det triangulära tvärsnittet och den böjda formen som krävs för ett meniskimplantat har varit ett arbete som pågått under hela projektet.

Most of the beef production in Sweden has been integrated with milk production. Since the 1990:s, the number of dairy cows has decreased. A specialised beef production has developed in purpose to compensate for this decrease. The consumption of beef have increased in the last decade, but the Swedish production has no followed this trend. In 2004, the percentage of beef self-sufficiency in Sweden was 60 %.

In Sweden today so-called "prescribed nature conservation burning" is performed due to the change in silvicultural law, certification and an increased knowledge regarding the field of fire in the forest landscape. The aim is to re-create structures and qualities made by the fire regimes of the past, though on a much smaller geographical scale. The structures and qualities to be re-created are for example broad leaf stands, trees with large diameter, heterogeneous stands regarding variables such as age and diameter. If we increase our knowledge of the constitution of forests characterized by fire, then we will be able to set goals for what achievements to reach both on landscape scale and stand scale. The aim of this paper is to try to describe how a stand from the past was composed regarding mainly the spatial arrangement and compare it with the stand of today in the same place. This to be done by using relict material, that is stumps and dead standing trees.

Spannmål med varierande fuktighetsgrad kan lagras i kvadratiska silor med väggelement bestående av korrugerad plåt. Då det lagrade spannmålet ska tömmas har det fuktiga spannmålet en tendens att fastna på väggarna, vilket medför att spannmålet i efterhand måste avlägsnas manuellt. För att slippa denna tidskrävande process monteras en slät plåt på den korrugerade plåten, för att på så vis hindra det fuktiga spannmålet från att fastna. Om samma plåtdimensioner för den korrugerade plåten används då den släta plåten är och inte är monterad kan väggelementen utsättas för buckling. Det här examensarbetet handlar således om hur väggelementen ska dimensioneras för att strukturen inte ska utsättas för buckling.

AbstractThis essay begins with a presentation of the complex set of problems which relate to the interaction between freedom of speech and the ban against discrimination based on a person's race, the colour of their skin or ethnic origin, confession of faith or sexual preference (BrB 16:8, incitement to racial hatred). Can conflicts arise between freedom of speech and the ban against discrimination? To shed light on this question, we have chosen to look at the issue from a new perspective. This perspective is based on the new challenges faced by Swedish society as a result of the changed composition of our population, our membership in the EU and our acknowledgment of certain international conventions concerning human rights.Fifty years ago our population almost solely comprised of ?native Swedes?.

The aim with this thesis was to investigate what characterises an English Arts and Crafts garden how they could be modernised in Sweden. My research was limited to 20 weeks of full-time writing and worth 30 ECTS. Through literature studies, interviews and site visits I could analyse my findings which resulted in a concrete garden design project. The Arts and Crafts was a movement that started in England during the 1880?s and evolved as a reaction towards the industrialisation. The influence came from the writings and practices of John Ruskin (1819-1900) and William Morris (1834-1896) who advocated the importance of craftsmanship. The Arts and Crafts movement also became a ?recipe for life? and was associated with a healthy and morally pure way of living.
