On the 15th of May 2011 the former leader of the International Monetary Fund, Dominique Strauss-Kahn, was accused of sexually assaulting a maid in a hotel room in New York. Strauss-Kahn was cleared of all charges on the 23rd of August 2011 since it could not be proven that he had forced the maid to have sexual relations with him.The purpose of this study is to examine how the case was framed in two Swedish newspapers, Svenska Dagbladet and Aftonbladet. Svenska Dagbladet is a broadsheet newspaper and Aftonbladet is a tabloid newspaper. The purpose of this study is also to find differences and similarities in the framing of the case in broadsheet newspapers and tabloid newspapers.The study is primarily based on two different theories; the framing theory and the tabloidization theory. The method used is critical discourse analysis based on van Dijks theories and methods.

The two most controversial ends of life decisions are those in which physicians help patients take their lives and when the physician deliberately and directly intervenes to end the patients? life upon his request. These are often referred to as voluntary euthanasia and physician assisted suicide. Voluntary euthanasia and physician assisted suicide have continued to be controversial public issues. This controversy has agitated the minds of great thinkers including ethicians, physicians, psychologists, moralists, philosophers even the patient himself.

In the wake of the latest financial crisis, a group of individuals launched the Occupy WallStreet movement. It wanted to change the structures that economic and political life arefounded upon. They believe that the established structures are unfair and exploit the majorityof the population. Researchers critisised the movement saying it was ambiguous because itcould not produce any realistic ideas for change, while others thought that was a success forthe movement.Therefore, the aim of this Bachelor Thesis is to examine the different ideas articulatedby the Occupy movement and present them systematically. Through an inductive qualitativetext analysis six different themes are identified regarding how the movement wants to changethe structures in society to make them fair.

Under 1990-talet började en påtaglig decentralisering i den offentliga sektorn i Sverige. Detta har i sin tur lett till en fragmenterad statsmodell inspirerad av olika typer av New Public Managementmodeller.En av dessa modeller, under namnet Lean, har varit en vägledande inspirationsmodell för olika kommuner runt om i landet. Metoden är ursprungligen från Japan och är även känt som The Toyota Production System. Lean metoden har visat sig vara effektiv inom bilindustrin då den går ut på att driva ett resurssnålt företagande. Tankesättet har spridit sig över hela världen och en av de grundläggande principerna inom metoden går ut på nöjda kunder och kundtillfredsställelse.Sedan år 2009 har Södertälje kommun infört Lean metoden som verksamhetsstrategi för att utveckla organisationer och enheter i kommunen.

The purpose of this study was to find out how swedish newspapers writes about Lettland during 2005-2009, who gets to speak in media, which key words being used, and if the news articles content changes over the years. As a basis for my discussion I?ve used Stuart Hall's theories for representation and language. In the same litterature, Hall presents theories for stereotypes and power from different researchers which I have studied for this study. I?ve also used Van Ginnekens theory about who may be heard in media.

The aim for this paper has been to examine three textbooks designed for science education in upper secondary school in order to determine whether they convey any specific attitudes regarding what is considered to be ideal knowledge within the field of biology. The main focus has been to investigate if different types of design strategies have been used to emphasize certain values or attitudes and if this proves to be the case, how is this achieved specifically?                      For this purpose I have conducted several different qualitative linguistic analyses of the textbooks. The theoretical framework for the analyses lies within the main field of critical linguistics and more specifically in the context of systemic functional linguistics. The two main language models I have chosen to use for my investigations are functional grammar and multimodal text analysis.                      My results imply amongst other things that by conducting an overall assessment of the headlines in the textbooks a fair assessment can be made of which overall attitudes the books convey.

Kvinnors psykiska ohälsa ökar samtidigt som intresset för personlig utveckling är större än kanske någonsin tidigare. Hösten 2008 lanserades en ny, svensk metod för ökad självkänsla och självinsikt kallad Skrivhjärtat. Metoden, som är ensam i sitt slag, går ut på att på genom en tydlig struktur skriva sig till ökad självinsikt. Studiens syfte är att undersöka fem svenska kvinnors upplevelser av denna metod. De tre frågeställningarna är:? Hur beskriver kvinnorna arbetsformen i metoden Skrivhjärtat?? Vad kan metoden bidra med i fråga om ökad självkänsla, självinsikt och ökat handlingsutrymme?? Har metoden medfört någon bestående förändring i kvinnornas livssituation?Tidigare forskning visar på skrivandets positiva effekter på det mentala välbefinnandet men det finns mycket lite forskning på området i Sverige.

I detta arbete beskriver jag FMT-metoden ? Funktionsinriktad musikterapi och visar på hur den kan motsvara mål som är formulerade i grundsärskolans läroplan. Jag lyfter vid sidan av den även fram Salamancadeklarationen. Jag gör en kort beskrivning av SI-terapi ? sensorisk integrationsterapi och jämför den med FMT-metoden. Min slutsats är att metoden lämpar sig ypperligt vid arbete i såväl grundsärskolan, som i den ordinarie grundskolan.

Usability studies are not a central field of research in library and information science. Although literature in library and information science treats the importance of usable user interfaces quite extensively, the literature does not significantly treat potential problems in measuring usability. The aim of this master thesis is to investigate, through a critical analysis, the methods used when conducting usability studies in library and information science. The critical analysis is based on potential problems in measuring usability identified through a literature review from the field of studies Human-Computer Interaction, the concept of usabilitys original domain. The material which is to be analysed, is chosen from one library and information science journal Journal of the American Society for Information Science and Technology.

Studien har skett i samarbete med Bjuvs kommun som beviljats bidrag från Kulturrådet för att genomföra RGRM i äldreomsorgen. Vår studie fokuserar på hur deltagande i RGRM-metoden upplevs av omsorgstagarna och om RGRM-metoden har någon inverkan på relationen mellan omsorgstagare och omsorgspersonal. Resultattolkningen leder fram till att deltagande i aktivitet som tillämpar RGRM-metoden, förutom bättre fysisk hälsa och ?hjärngympa? i form av koncentration, också skapar möjligheter för social samvaro, återkoppling via musiken till tidigare minnen och känsla av tillhörighet. I fråga om RGRM-metodens inverkan på relationer så är det framförallt omsorgspersonalen som uttrycker att de får en fördjupad kontakt med omsorgstagarna..

The purpose of this study was to describe and analyses educators? experiences of reflective conversations in their teams and part of teams in relation to their work with pupils in need of special support. Ten educators representing ten different teams have been interviewed since all had experiences of working in teams and working with pupils in need of special support. Focus has been on the educators? experiences of the organisation, the effects of the reflections and the need to develop the reflective conversations in their teams and part of teams.

The purpose of this essay is to examine at how to portray characters in the stories and narratives which depicts one of these children's books and if they really have something to ethnicity and its identification to be done.The Research questions is: What are the different identification markers given, to the reading child in the books, which might indicate that the story depicts people of different ethnicities? How are the characters portrayed in the story and which role is assigned to the main character? What story is portrayed and is it relevant to an identifier can occur?The conclusions of the five children's books shows that it is important with identifications markers, to show that there are different ethnicities. For example the analysis revealed the specific features of the illustrations and how the books portrayes someone with a different ethnicity and cultural background as something exotic.In the texts, the analysis showed how it occurred ethnic differences, by explicitly demonstrating differences between the characters. It was found that the characters were produced mostly as good, happy, curious, suspicious and unsympathetic. Common to all the main characters was that they had been placed, in one for them unusual context and that they were trying to assimilate to the new situations.Depictions consisted of realism and fiction.

The main aim of this study is to examine the political debate in Sweden around a potentionalcriminalization of buying sex abroad. A second additional aim is to analyze the debate from anintersectional feminist gender perspective, by bringing attention to ideas about gender, ethnicity andpower expressed in the empirical material.The questions at issue are:What are the arguments for and against the potentional criminalization of buying sex abroad andwhich central discursive battles can be discerned throughout the debate?What impact do ideas about gender and power have on the construction of a general advocatediscourse versus a general antagonist discourse?The methodological point of departure is Critical Discourse Analysis, drawing on the theories ofNorman Fairclough, Ernesto Laclau and Chantal Mouffe. The empirical material consists of 27articles and editorials publicized in Swedish newspapers between January 2011 and November2014.The result shows that the polemics manifested in the debate are based on different ideas aboutgender, ethnicity and power. A crucial discursive battle stands between human rights andinternational law as a superior principle.

Studier visar att åtgärder krävs för att minska svenska barns intag av sötsaker och fett samt öka intaget av frukt och grönsaker. Skolors roll i att främja en hälsosammare kosthållning hos barn måste därför få en ökad uppmärksamhet. Lärare bör ta tillvara på tillfällen som ges att i undervisningen förmedla en positiv syn på mat. Sapere-metoden är en pedagogisk metod som syftar till att öva upp elevers sensoriska förmåga, utveckla deras språk samt på sikt förbättra deras matvanor. Denna metod tillämpas idag på skolor i Västmanland.

Syftet med denna uppsats är att undersöka hur undersköterskor i fyra olika verksamheter upplever att deras arbetssituation har förändrats sedan man införde LCP (Liverpool Care Pathway). Vidare belyses hur undersköterskorna menar att samarbete, kommunikation och relation har påverkats och på vilket sätt och i så fall hur. Uppsatsen är skriven utifrån samverkan och ett professionellt förhållningssätt i socialt arbete. Ett annat perspektiv som uppsatsen belyser är på vilket sätt metoden blev introducerad i organisationen, detta utifrån implementeringsprocesser och kommunikationsteorin. Resultatet visar att undersköterskorna upplever en större delaktighet och trygghet i deras arbete idag jämfört med tidigare.
