ITT Flygt is a world leading company that mainly manufactures submersible pumps. A problem of ITT Flygt is that product development projects rarely manage to hold the estimated project time. It shows that something unexpected occurs in projects quite often, which results in delays. The delays can both be due to an optimistic time plan of projects and risks in product development projects which are not discovered at an early stage. This added with unforeseen delays makes it difficult for ITT Flygt to estimate the duration of their projects.The goal with the Master thesis is to examine a suitable method for simulation of project time.

En uppsats som tar läsaren med på en resa genom ett designarbete med klistermärken i vinyl som slutprodukt. kan man med hjälp av klistermärken skapa en dynamisk inredning eller kan man med hjälp av design sätta fart på en miljödebatt om dricksvatten? I denna rapport får ni följa med på en resa genom mitt C arbete "The StickerProject" där jag med design och kreativitet designat klistermärken i försökt att, underlätta vardagsproblem, erbjuda ett enkelt och billigt dekorations alternativ till tapeter och färg, men även snabbt tittat på till hur design för inredning och klistermärken sett ut genom historien. Som en bonus följer även ett avsnitt om miljön med där diskussionen kring dricksvatten fått rollen som inspiration för några av mina produkter. Följ med och inspireras till att göra världen mindre ful.

Idag finns ett stort antal e-tjänster som riktar sig till breda användargrupper. Att designa e-tjänsteranpassade för dessa grupper kan vara mycket komplicerat, men det finns metoder för attunderlätta detta. Donald Norman beskrev 1983 ett antal principer för design av vardagsföremål.Dessa principer har blivit allmänt vedertagna inom design och används flitigt inominteraktionsdesign. Syftet med uppsatsen är att testa om principerna kan möta de behov en bredgrupp av användare kan ha. Vi vill utifrån dessa principer utvärdera en befintlig e-tjänst ochutifrån denna utvärdering och analys skapa nya designförslag.

As forthe swedish market, the traditional design-bid-build (DBB) have been the primary choice ofcontracting. Although changes have been made over time regarding contracting formswithin the road administration, the railway sector has not improved or justified changesregarding choice of contracting, they have conducted same contracting relationshipsbetween them and the contractor.This bachelor thesis, conducted at the Swedish railway administration with supervision ofprofessor Kristian Widén at Lunds University, explores the forces behind the new era ofcontracting within the railway administration. This bachelor thesis focuses mainly oncontracting regarding design-build-operate-main (DBOM), the new contracting formulabetween the owner and the contractor.

Aims: Patient associations have been around for some time and research has shown that such associations can influence society, politics and how diagnoses are thought of. This study is a comparative analysis of two patient associations in Sweden. The first association called Attention represents people diagnosed with neuropsychiatric disorders such as ADHD. The other association called RSMH represents people diagnosed with mental illness such as depression. The aim of this study is to explore the social and political agenda of these associations and to explain their relation to biological, psychological and social models of explanation.Method and theory: The method used was a qualitative document analysis using documents produced by the associations themselves as well as documents from media and politics.

Stockholm is growing with almost two fully loaded SL-buses a day. One of the consequences that derive from this is the increase of public transport travelers who put the regionally governed public transport up to the test in terms of its capacity. The Transport administration in Stockholm County initiated 2015 a project with the purpose of simplifying the calculation of bus stop capacities. A hypothesis (set up by the Transport administration) based on that a model for calculation of bus stop capacities could be calibrated for Stockholm conditions is being researched in this bachelor?s essay.The study is implemented by self-collected traffic data from bus stops located in the Stockholm city center.

The aim of my thesis was to examine if educators need to be critical of what they read to the children from a gender perspective. I examined how picture books depict gender and if the books enhances or breaks perception of gender roles. I also examined educator?s perception of gender and if they think picture books can affect children?s perceptions of gender, but also what educators think about gender equality through picture books. The study is based on analysis of five picture books and interview with five educators.The results of analyzes showed that picture books are stereotyped and enhances perceptions of gender roles.

This thesis examines how techniques from place marketing, developed to market places, can be used in the process of designing a visual identity for an institution. The thesis is a case study of the development of a new visual identity for the public art institution Malmö konsthall. The essay presents Malmö Konsthall, defines the term visual identity and describes the main principles in place branding. I then define target audiences and key values, discuss the application of place marketing principle and go through the design process of the new visual identity. The process showed that theories about flagship buildings, signature design and signature districts have the biggest influence on the design.

The aim of this thesis is to, through an empirical study ofthe social tags in the City of Stockholm libraries? OPACwith critical discourse analysis, examine the social tags?linguistic design, usability, and communicative potential? all in relation to the context. It is a linguistic study andit is important to take into account that the tags are extremelyshort texts ? single-word-texts. My starting-pointis that the tags are a form of utility texts.What I find is that a clear majority of the tags are nounsand function as index terms, but that there are differencescompared to authorized index terms.

This report was written as a result of a Bachelor Degree Project at the School of Technology and Society at University of Skövde, first semester 2007. The assigner was Tibrokök in Tibro, Sweden. The commission was originally to design a sliding door concept for kitchen. Later it was expanded to also include bathrooms.During the feasibility study of the project Internet was used as an information source. Kitchen brochures and magazines were ordered from different companies to give inspiration and ideas.

Med hjälp av teorier och slutsatser från filmteoretiker så som Michel Chion, David Sonnenschein och Klas Dykhoff, har vi till kortfilmen Alla ljuger skapat en ljudläggning med fokus på narrativa ljud utanför den rörliga bilden. Vårt resultat syftar till att skapa grunden till en svensk standardisering av de existerande teorier och metoder för gestaltning av akusmatiska ljud i film. The content of this bachelor thesis examines and discusses around the question: ?How does the implementation of acousmatic sounds affect the narrative of a motion picture??.

Today, there are few industries left in our cities. Industrial areas thatare located in urban settings close to water or city centers are oftenreplaced by housing. In my thesis I want to explore how such industrialsite located in an urban setting can be transformed into anindustrial park where the industrial structures are saved. By approachingthis type of environment in a positive manner, I wish tohighlight the potential aesthetic and functional value in the existingindustrial structure. Through the transformation and design of anexisting industrial site I will convey the previous use and history ofthe place.The wastewater treatment plant, Kungsängsverket, is located in thedistrict of Kungsängen in the southern part of Uppsala.

This thesis presents the design and implementation of an accounting and status notification system for the LPRng print spooler. A solution using SNMP to query for needed accounting and status data is presented, a design built upon this, and an implementation produced. As the system derives from the requirements specification, it will make no attempt to solve all printer accounting problems or to offer compatibility with all printers, database management systems or print spoolers. However, several solutions for printer accounting are discussed and the best solution derived from the requirements specification will be chosen..

I aktuellt arbete undersöks nya metoder och tekniker som kan användas för att skapa användarvänlig design i mobila enheter. Det har efterfrågas metoder och verktyg för att kunna skapa användarvänlig design i mobila gränssnitt, då det finns ett behov inom detta unga område som binder samman mobila gränssnitt, användarvänlighet och design. Därför har teorier studerats som behandlar områden inom interaktionsdesign och exempelvis innehållande användarvänlighet, skrivna av inflytelserika interaktionsdesigners som Alan Cooper . En sammanställning av designprinciper och användarvänlighetsprinciper baserades på en omfattande litteraturstudie, och har härefter lätt fram till en operationalisering som i undersökningen bildar, agerar och definieras som ett designverktyg. Detta verktyg har funktionaliteten att utgå från ett webbaserat gränssnitt och med hjälp av verktyget kan designern få hjälp att omforma detta till ett gränssnitt för mobila enheter.
