A controversial party?s entry into parliament - a review of Expressen?s depiction of the Sweden Democrats (Sverigedemokraterna)The purpose of this essay was to study how Expressen presents the Sweden Democrats, as well as reasoning about the effects this depiction could have on the citizens? opinion. Using a quantitative method I studied 122 articles, and through a qualitative method four of these could be further analyzed to reach a deeper result. The theoretical perspective that was applied in this study was primary agenda-setting and framing theory, to illuminate the power of media. The result showed that a prominent theme was to present Sweden Democrats as racists.

These days, schools are obliged by the law to prepare an annual plan for the prevention of bullying and degrading treatment. The purpose of my work is to investigate the 2 schools efforts to prevent bullying and abuse and how they live up to legal standards. But I have also examined how students in school are experiencing anti-bullying work in their school. I have also examined how much funding schools put on to prevent bullying I school. In this study, I have done interviews with school principals and students to have a clear picture about the school?s anti-bullying work.

Denna forskningsöversikt handlar om effektiviteten av platsbaserat polisiärt arbete, som fokuserar på små geografiska områden med hög kriminalitet. Har platsbaserat polisiärt arbete en brottsminskande effekt? Minskar bara en viss typ av kriminalitet? Flyttar brottsligheten bara på sig? - Genom lämpliga sökord och välkända databaser valdes de studier ut som hade bra utvärderingsdesigner. Resultatet blev 14 studier varav 9 randomiserade experiment, 4 kvasiexperimentella studier och 1 metaanalys. Översikten visar på en delad bild när det kommer till signifikant effekt vid brottsminskning.

Syftet med arbetet är att undersöka hur elever upplever den pedagogledda rastaktiviteten utomhus och om den deltagande vuxne har någon betydelse. Målet är att ta del av elevernas egna tankar och synsätt. Undersökningen utgår ifrån vad barnen tycker och tänker, barns perspektiv. Den skola som undersökningen gjordes på har sedan ett års tid haft pedagogledda rastaktiviteter utomhus.Undersökningen utgörs av litteraturstudier och en kvalitativ undersökning genom intervjuer med några elever. Resultatet visar att de intervjuade eleverna upplever den pedagogledda rastaktiviteterna som något positivt.

This thesis has examined a co-operation called SSP, between the social authorities, the school and the police, located in Malmö. The intention with SSP is to prevent crime and drug use among juveniles but also to evolve a structure for a long-term co-operation between the authorities.The purpose of the thesis was to understand and analyse what the co- operation represented and stood for. The study also examined how the co- operation was effected by differences in the organisation of the three parts.The main questions were the following; what does SSP contain, is SSP preventive and for whom, what motivates the co-operation and how is the cooperation effected by the view the authorities have on the target group?The method used for answering the questions was based on qualitative interviews with the three authorities involved. We have also searched for literature on the subjects involved.The main content of the thesis has showed that the limits of SSP are diffuse, and the focus of the co- operation lies at a structural level.

Purpose/Aim: This essay explores the framing and representation of pensioners in Swedish press during the period of 2002-2008. The aim was to investigate what meaning news give elderly people on the manifest level, and also what meaning the media texts construct on the latent level.Material/Method: For this paper I have investigated framing of pensioners using quantitative analysis of 100 news articles, followed by a qualitative hermeneutic analysis applied on the most frequent frames discovered in the quantitative study.Main results: Four frames were identified concerning pensioners: crime victims, heroes in daily dues, economically advantaged and economically disadvantaged. The dualistic result in the economy frame was investigated in the qualitative research. The study revealed that pensioners as a group may have good economic standards, although there are individual differences. Three stereotypes were discovered in the articles: ?kind granny?, ?fragile and miserable? and ?look what I can do?..

Syftet var att undersöka samband mellan stress, hälsoångest, sjukvårdsbesök samt läkemedelsförbrukning i fängelsemiljö. Respondenterna var 66 män i åldrarna 21 - 68 år med avtjänade straff från en månad till tretton år och nio månader. Studien baserades på självskattningsfrågeformulär vilket mäter stress  (Perceived Stress Scale, PSS ) och hälsoångest (Health Anxiety Inventory, Short Version, SHAI). Dataanalyser kontrollerade samband, predicerbarhet och interaktionseffekter. Resultatet påvisade samband och predicerbarhet mellan stress och hälsoångest samt med hur ofta intagna besöker sjukmottagningen men inget samband med förbrukning av läkemedel.

This paper investigates the autobiography of Damien Echols. The autobiographical subject, Echols, depicts his life as a marginalized youth during the nineteen seventies and nineteen eighties in Arkansas, USA. It also explores the years that Echols spent on Death Row after having been arrested along with two other youths for the murder of three eight-year-old boys; a crime all three of the accused denied having committed. In 2011, after eighteen years of incarceration, the three now grown up men were released from prison. The author of this paper discusses biography and especially autobiography as a genre and explores to what extent memories represent the actual life the autobiographical subject, Echols, has lived and if memories are or can be truthful.

Att bli utsatt för brott innebär ofta starka känslomässiga reaktioner och sättet som brottsoffer hanterar situationen beror till stor del på upplevelser som de har strax efter det inträffade brottet. Eftersom polisen i regel är de första att möta personer som utsatts för brott så har polisen en unik möjlighet att hjälpa brottsoffren att hantera det akuta traumat och undvika att de drabbas av sekundär viktmisering. Forskning har visat att brottsoffer, även de som utsatts för våldsbrott, generellt är nöjda med polisens hjälp och upplever kontakten med polisen som positiv. Denna uppsats syfte var att undersöka hur personer som utsatts för våldsbrott upplevde kontakten med polisen i samband med anmälan av brottet och vid utredningen av brottet. En kvalitativ ansats valdes och semistrukturerade intervjuer genomfördes med sex personer.

Fenomenet stalkning har funnits sedan lång tid tillbaka men har med tiden blivit allt mer uppmärksammat, bland annat beroende på att ett flertal offentliga personer har varit bland de drabbade. Det finns flera olika sätt genom vilka man kan bli utsatt för stalkning. Det kan innebära allt ifrån att ständigt bli uppringd, få besök och e-post med kränkande innehåll till att bli hotad, misshandlad eller få sin egendom förstörd. Ämnet är idag högaktuellt i och med att regeringen nyligen utgivit en proposition avseende kriminaliseringen av upprepade förföljelser gentemot ett och samma brottsoffer. Det nya brottet benämns ?olaga förföljelse?.

The aim of this study is to increase knowledge and understanding regarding which institutional demands can be identified by social welfare secretary?s in their work with juvenile offenders. The study uses organizational theory to try and find different institutional strategies that social workers use to handle such demands. The study takes a qualitative approach and consists of six semi-structural interviews with social welfare secretary?s who work with juvenile offenders.The results of the study show how institutional influence comes from various organizations and institutions such as media, legislation as well as the police and justice system.

On December 20, 2001, the Swedish citizen Mehdi Ghezali was captured on the border between Afghanistan and Pakistan. Ghezali spent the following 930 days in U.S. captivity, without being charged with any crime. My aim in this essay is to analyze how Ghezali was portrayed in three Swedish newspapers under and after his captivity, two nationwide and one local newspaper based in Ghezali's hometown. My purpose is to see whether Ghezali's identity is constructed differently in the three newspapers, as regards The Other, Stereotypization, etc.

ABSTRACT The main purpose of IT security policies is to protect companies against intrusion and unwanted spread of information. Statistics show that IT related crimes tend to increase and because of that it is important, from the company?s side of view, to be well prepared. The IT security policy is an important part of that preparation. A lot of the crimes related to IT can be deduced indirectly to employees at the companies where the crime takes place.

This essay concerns the Celts during the Iron Age, and their ritual practice in human sacrifice. The method applied is an eclectic historic-critic reading of the few classical sources that exist together with archeological material and scholars conclusions of literal sources and archeological material. The hypothesis is that human sacrifice in the Celtic realm not is to be seen as a primitive act of violence, but that it filled a social function to preserve society and the Celtic way of life.The question this essay strives to answer is Which function/s do human sacrifice fill in a Celtic context during the Iron Age? The question is analysed with the aid of Radcliffe-Brown?s and Catherine Bell?s theories on ritual, as well as Malcolm Chapman?s postmodern ideas of the conception of the Celtic. The conclusion of the essay is that the prime functions of Celtic human sacrifice are to preserve society and the Celtic social way of life, combined with an aim to eliminate disturbing elements in that same society, such as crime and individuals who did not fit in to the social community..
