The aim of this thesis is to create an understanding of the incentives for forest companies to invest in reducing carbon dioxide emissions from deforestation and forest degradation, which is termed REDD. The Brazilian Amazonas was chosen as the base for the investment case. Brazil has the largest area of rainforest in the world, and also the biggest problem with deforestation. The Amazon region of Brazil comprises rainforest which is largely intact and unexploited. Accordingly, there is significant potential scope for prospective investments in a REDD-project, and so have a noteworthy impact in preventing deforestation.The research approach used the United Nation?s Clean Development Mechanism concept was used as a framework for ascertaining the investment costs in potential REDD-projects.

This degree project has been carried out by Oscar Adolfsson and Marcus Blomqvist, during the spring of 2010, both studying to become Bachelor of Science in Innovation and Design Engineering, at Karlstad University. The degree project includes 22,5 Credits.The work is done on behalf of Etac Supply Center AB in Anderstorp. Etac is a company developing and manufacturing home health care products, with operation in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, England and Germany, and with sales worldwide. Bo Lindqvist, R & D manager has been the contact person at Etac.During the project the students has had a workplace at Semcon Caran AB in Karlstad. Semcon has also been helpful as a sounding board.The objective of the work has been developing a new, wall mounted shower chair, assigned for persons with difficulty to stand up while showering.Etacs requirement of the shower chair is that it should be able to support a user with a weight of 100 kg, the chair shouldn?t have any outrigger, optional should be armrests and backrest.

Further, we wish to contribute with advice for companies that are considering the option of outsourcing their economic function.Method:                             An intensive study of existing literature and a pre-study were conducted in order to create a framework for the thesis. The pre-study was conducted with one business counselor and two suppliers of economic services and resulted in local practical examples that supplemented the found literature. Users of the product value comfort, flexibility, softness, comfort and a discreet product. Users are for individuals with incontinence problems that usually receive the products via prescription. The product must also have an attractive price and good quality from the purchase / originator's perspective.Currently there are two models that Attends supplies, which the project intends to develop, (Slips / Briefs and Pull On's).

Abstract   This degree project comprises 30 Credits, i.e. 20 weeks of work. The work mainly deals with the energy balance for a multi-family house in Västerås and the requirements for energy conservation in the Swedish building code, BBR. Calculations of the energy balance are supplemented by a number of interviews. Energy conservation in general has become more important in recent years and the subject is in line with increased public awareness. This importance and attention is explained by environmental problems in general and global warming in particular, but also by rising energy prices.

Denna kandidatuppsats behandlar miljöcertifieringssystemet LEED ur ett internationellt perspektiv. Uppsatsen behandlar den problematik som finns inom systemet och redogör för hur det bör utvecklas för att bli mer fungerande på den svenska såväl som internationella marknaden. I arbetet presenteras även förslag på punkter som bör förbättras eller tilläggas till systemet. Byggnader står för 40 % av den totala energiförbrukningen i Europa och miljöcertifiering av byggnader kan därför spela en viktig roll i att uppnå de gemensamma energi- och klimatmålen såväl som för utvecklingen av en hållbar framtid. Allt fler hyresgäster efterfrågar miljöcertifierade fastigheter och pressen på fastighetsägare ökar, då de måste börja certifiera sina befintliga byggnader för att konkurrera med energieffektiv nyproduktion. Miljöcertifiering ökar fokus mot miljöfrågor, driver på utvecklingen av miljötekniska lösningar och en LEED certifierad byggnad bidrar bland annat till förbättrad luft- och vattenkvalitet, minskad miljöpåverkan, ökat driftnetto och förbättrad hälsa bland hyresgäster. LEED är det miljöcertifieringssystem med störst internationellt spridning och allt fler svenska byggnader registreras och certifieras enligt LEED.
