Distributed system development is a common occurrence in today?s technological and global world. Because the consequences of its geographically distributed nature it creates barriers between people that affects their communication and collaboration efforts in the distributed context. Despite a lot of technological breakthroughs over the last decades and the occurrence of video-conference applications and other tools for communication and collaboration, cultural and geographical issues have so far not yet been completely resolved. In this study I have made a literature study over distributed system development to form a set of central factors that affects the distributed development process.

Abstract Integrated mental training is a method that entails a systematic and long-term training of mental processes (thoughts, images, emotions) that aims to enhance performance as well as gratify feelings and improve thought processes. This training develops an alternative system of control by using substitute state of consciousness and self-hypnosis. The method is concerned with both mindfulness and performance approaches, which is crucial in order to feel and function better. The intent of this study is to highlight the experience of the different steps of integrated mental training to gain an understanding of how, where, and when changes occur. To achieve the objective of this study, a qualitative empirical method was used.

The aim of this paper was to study how Instagram forms a space for the Creation and development of religious and spiritual beliefs. For this purpose, Instagram updates from five women with yoga oriented Instagram accounts have been analyzed in relation to two theories: Paul Heelas? och Linda Woodhead?s theory of a spiritual revolution and Heidi Campbell?s theory of networked religion.The aim of the study was to explore how these women presented themselves in their Instagram flow and what part religion and spirituality had in their presentations.

In this thesis the author has through a discourse analysis examined how the concept of culture has been used in the discourse of integration during the late twentieth century in Sweden. The author argues that the integration of immigrating people has been the fundamental method in creating Swedish citizens within the immigrant communities. In this discourse the concept ?culture? has been a constant recurring way of explaining differences among the immigrants towards ?ethnic swedes? and Swedish way of life and establishing difficulties in performing integration outside of governmental policies. Undersökningengenomfördes med en kvalitativ metod för att belysa frågorna djupare. Förstskapades en kvalitativ intervju, och efter intervjuerna skapades tre nyafrågor som lades ut på två internetforum med inriktning mot MMORPGs.De spelare som verkade vara mest intresserade av karaktärsskapande ochprocessen kring karaktärsskapandet, var de spelare som ibland ägnade sig åtrollspelande.

This Masters thesis is a study of the truck-driver profession and their use of libraries located in gas-stations and restaurants along the highways in Sweden. The reason for this interest is the positive trend that has occurred concerning men without any university education and their reading-habits, that is due to their increased interest in listening to audio books. This challenges the general opinion that this group is not particularly interested in reading literature. Questions posed in this study are: How do the truck-drivers relate to the activity of reading literature, what part does the road-libraries play, and how can the services that the road-libraries offer be improved according to the truck-drivers. The method used in the study is interviews made by telephone.

The background also presents different views of masculinity, the construction of gender and the construction of norms.

This paper aims to describe how religion teachers in Swedish schools teach concerning questions about life issues and popular culture. To research the teachers' didactic approach to these issues, didactics has been defined with three educational questions: what, how and why. The essay focuses on teachers' effective implementation of teaching on life issues and popular culture, which we used a theory of offering meaningfulness describing what subject matter that may be imparted to the students. An offer of meaningfulness can be pursued and can be made visible in the context of what and how performs the teaching and also in the context where the teacher planned the teaching elements. The method that the paper has used is the interviews of four different active religious educators in Stockholm and Uppsala area.

 Frågeställning: Vilka nyckelaktiviteter använder sig företag av för att skapa värde tillsammansmed sina kunder i sociala interaktioner?Syfte: Studien syftar till att undersöka vilka aktiviteter respondentföretagen utför i sinvärdeskapande process tillsammans med sina kunder och användare i sociala interaktioner meddessa.Metod: En kvalitativ undersöknings design där semistrukturerade intervjuer utfördes medmålstyrt urval av 7 respondenter från olika företag i olika branscher.Slutsats: Studien visar att de företagen som undersökts ägnar sig åt olika typer avnyckelaktiviteter i den värdeskapande processen med kund i sociala interaktioner. Det finns vissanyckelaktiviteter som är gemensamma för de olika företagen och vissa används mer flitigt ellerframgångsrikt än andra. Oavsett vilka aktiviteter som utförs och oavsett företag så visar studienatt det finns en grundläggande process. Denna består av att företaget skickar ut någon form avoutput som når kunden och engagerar denna.

The EU-funded project European Cultural Heritage Online (ECHO) aims to integrateresources from various domains within the field of cultural heritage, and make them availableon the Internet. To accomplish this integration it is necessary to describe the various resourcesin a way that will achieve cross-domain interoperability. This description of digital resourcesis commonly referred to as metadata. The most well known and used metadata standard is theDublin Core Metadata Element Set, a general standard developed for the purpose ofdescribing all types of digital resources. Since the mid-1990's a large number of specializedstandards have emerged in different communities, for example IMDI, designed for detaileddescription of language resources.This thesis aims to examine the possibility of combining a general and a specialized metadatastandard to achieve cross-domain interoperability and at the same time provide a sufficientlydetailed description of language resources for researchers within the field of linguistics.

There has been an increasing interest for ranking of Swedish health care and a lot of emphasis has been placed on the Creation of indicators in order to rank hospital units. However, essays on to what extent the choice of statistical method affects the final result of the ranking of health care units have not been given the same attention. For this particular reason, the main objective of this essay has been to investigate whether the choice of statistical model has a significant impact or not on the final result, by using five different, more or less common, statistical approaches: bar charts (with and without confidence intervals), control charts, logistic regression, multi-level analysis using shrunken residuals. The analyzed material in the essay comprises 24119 patients that all have been prescribed some form of the lipid-reducing medicine statin. According to directives given by Region Skåne, doctors are encouraged to prescribe a particular type of statin medicine, namely Simvastatin, which has been proved to be equally effective, but significantly cheaper than other statin medicines.

Syftet är att identifiera olika typer av värdeskapande och konkurrensfördelar som kan uppstå i den fysiska resebyrån genom att undersöka och analysera; användandet av informationsteknologin, det fysiska servicelandskapet och erbjudandet för kunden. Relaterat till syftet har vi formulerat en forskningsfråga som blev enligt följande: Hur möjliggör traditionella resebyråer skapandet av olika typer av värde för sina kunder genom sitt fysiska servicelandskap? Vår uppsats är en kvalitativ forskningsmetod, då vi eftersträvat en djup undersökning för vår valda forskningsfråga. Vi har i uppsatsens gång använt oss av både primär- och sekundärkällor. Våra primära källor har bestått av sex intervjupersoner där vi använt oss av semistrukturerade intervjuer.

Syftet med studien var att undersöka och förstå villkoren för ungdomars identitetsskapande på behandlingshem. I denna kvalitativa studie har fem personer intervjuats ur personalstyrkan på ett behandlingshem med två avdelningar. Frågor ställdes gällande intervjupersonernas uppfattningar om de möjligheter och begränsningar som fanns för ungdomar att skapa en positiv identitet på behandlingshemmet. Den teoretiska referensram som användes i tolkningen av resultatet var Goffmans och Beckers tankar om identiteten som en produkt av interaktion samt även Wrangsjös tolkning av ungdomsutveckling.Resultatet visade att möjligheterna som nämndes kunde delas in i tre teman: trygghet, positiv bekräftelse och social färdighetsträning. Samtidigt kunde trygghet och bekräftelse vara begränsningar i ungdomarnas identitetsskapande.
