This report aims to provide an insight into the particle physics of today, and into the research that goes on within the field. The focus is partly on the recent discovery of the Higgs boson, and partly on how software can be used to simulate processes in particle accelerators. Basic concepts of particle physics and the search for the Higgs boson are discussed, and experimental results, including those from the Large Hadron Collider, are compared with simulations made in MadGraph 5. Furthermore, simple new models of particle physics are created in FeynRules, in order to make simulations based on the models. To support the presentations of these aspects, some of the underlying theory is built from the ground up.

Management consulting firms are an important part of the knowledge economy and they capitalize on the analytical ability and knowledge of their employees. Much research have been made on large consulting firms and their management of knowledge, but little is known about how small consultancies manage their knowledge. Even less is known about the management of knowledge in small consultancies specialized in change management. These firms rely solely on senior consultants and focus on the human aspect of organizational development. This thesis aims to show how these firms manage their knowledge and also provide an understanding of why.

In this study, emphasis was situated around pupils? expectations regarding body shape and physical proficiency among teachers within the subject of physical education. Additionally, possible outcomes of failure to uphold such demands were put in relation to aspects of legitimacy. To enable such study a qualitative study including semi-structured interviews was conducted and carried through, involving six pupils in the third grade of upper secondary education. Because of this some writers have the power to influence the minds of the reader. The purpose of this thesis was to study the importance of an artist?s personal brand from a record company and artist management perspective. We also aimed to investigate how these companies work to create and maintain an artist?s personal brand. The study conducted was a case study based on interviews with staff members of a major record company, Universal Music AB, and an artist management, United Stage Management Group AB.

The Authorities attitudes towards Gypsies have been characterized by prejudice for a long time. This has lead to the relief actions of the Authorities being formed by discriminating acts. In purpose of eliminating the discrimination of the Gypsies, the Delegation for Gypsy matters formulated a strategy for solving this problem in the report ?Gypsy rights ? a strategy for Gypsies in Sweden?. Despite the goodwill of the Authorities this report has been criticized by Gypsies in Sweden. In the investigation of the derivation of this criticism the aim of this essay is to look at how the Authorities attitude towards Gypsies is shown in this report and how it affects the creation of their ethos.

Denna uppsats syftar till att få insikt i hur några högskolestuderande på klassisk gitarr och klassiskt piano som spelar solo upplever en konsertsituation. Huvudfrågorna har varit: Vad känner de? Har de några problem/svårigheter och i så fall hur beskriver de upplevelsen av detta? Detta har undersökts genom kvalitativa intervjuer med fem musikhögskolestudenter. Resultatet visar på att samtliga informanter upplever att de delvis påverkas negativt av nervositet i samband med en konsert. Nervositeten yttrar sig bland annat genom "fjärilar i magen", svettningar och negativa tankar innan konserten som handlar om att man inte är tillräckligt förberedd, att det kommer gå dåligt och att man skall spela fel.

Abstract The increased focus on social capital theory has made its way into labour economics. This has led to the creation of a vast literature about the use of networks and informal search methods in the labour-market, a literature that to some extent also deals with immigrants search behaviour and their relatively high unemployment rate. Characteristic for the literature in the area is the lack of analysis of actual networks. Which types of contacts do these networks contain; how are the networks used in the labour-market; and which type of network generates a high amount of social capital. These questions are important for the general understanding of how social capital functions, within the labour-market, but also for the understanding of how immigrants use their networks in order to find themselves jobs.

The aim of this Master?s thesis is to investigate the library habits of young people, age 15 to 24. Our empirical data are gathered in a survey distributed to 104 young men and women at three different public libraries. The questions are about how young people use the public library, what media and services they use and whether or not they are content with what the public library can offer them. In our analysis we have compared our results to previous research and used a model by Marianne Andersson and Dorte Skot-Hansen to determine how they use the library.

In this essay the morphing of the interstate relations in the post-World War II Western Europe is taken in to consideration in discussing how these relations were stabilized and consolidated through community cooperation to achieve a state of stable peace. It concludes that the early 1900's of Western Europe comes close to being conditioned by Herz's security dilemma and then continues to analyze the development from this state to one of stable peace. In this analysis pivotal features of the ECSC, EEC and the EC are being scrutinized through the use of Boulding's Stable Peace theory and developments of the very same, in separate case studies, in order to account for the Communities? influence on the peace process.In doing this, conclusions are drawn that external pressures can be very effective in creating an incentive to move beyond an initial state of conflicting self-images and that a stabilizing process has got to provide a long term solution in order to sustain a trustful relationship. In order to provide this long term solution the community cooperations suggests that locking in through institutionalization, harmonization, and the creation of a state of irrevocable interdependence are highly effective..

Syftet med studien är att ta reda på hur fiolpedagoger på en kommunal musikskola undervisar i ämnet rytm och puls. Det saknas mer omfattande forskning inom området och vi ville därför göra en fördjupande studie som behandlar denna frågeställning. Det didaktiska perspektivet är vår teoretiska utgångspunkt och studien har sitt fokus på vilka hjälpmedel och metoder pedagogerna använder sig av när de lär ut.De metoder vi använde för att få svar på våra frågor var den kvalitativa intervjun samt videoobservation. De båda informanterna som medverkar i studien arbetar och verkar idag som fiolpedagoger på en kommunal musikskola. Resultaten visar på vilka olika sätt de båda informanterna undervisar i ämnet rytm och puls.

Denna uppsats syftar till att redogöra för hur producentens roll i musikproduktioner har utvecklats i förhållande till ny teknik. Förhoppningsvis kan denna kunskap leda till en bättre förståelse om yrkets utveckling och hjälpa (aspirerande) producenter att utveckla och anpassa sitt kunskapsområde därefter. En undersökning i form av intervjuer med två producenter/ tekniker har genomförts för att besvara vad som enligt dem är producentens roll i musikproduktioner och hur teknikens utveckling har påverkat dem i sina roller. Uppsatsens teoretiska ramverk är inspirerad av det sociokulturella perspektivet som visar på hur vi lär oss av den sociala och kulturella omgivning vi lever i. Resultaten visar att producentens roll blir alltmer multifunktionell och att vara musikproducent idag kan innebära att man sköter om allt från teknik till komposition, för att bara nämna några ansvarsområden.

The artefact is through analysis found to fulfil the purposes of marketing the Agency and of likely increasing traffic to the website upon which it is hosted. Regarding the primary, educational purpose this analysis finds that the artefact does not teach a user the accident-avoidance strategies it claims to do, but is dependent upon further materials..

The purpose of this essay was to reflect on previous made research, on examining how youth?s identity is formed by living in an area that society looks at negatively. The theoretical benchmarks that have been used in order to provide a better understanding are: identity, exclusion, ethnicity and adaption. The study is a qualitative study, since there is an aspiration in increasing the knowledge and understanding, of the conception that these individuals experience, as deviants in the society.
