Abstract: The aim of this study is to investigate the attitudes towards the labour movement?s strategies, goals and organisational issues in Swedish Miners? Union?s (Gruvindustriarbetareförbundet, hereafter Gruv) paper, Gruvarbetaren 1917-1925.The theoretical starting point is Engels? view on the class state. This perspective turns the question of socialism and the way to get there into an issue of working class power over the state. Another theoretical perspective is the partition of the labour movement into a trade-unionistic branch, seeing unions as financial organisations of interest, and a pro-state one, considering unions as political organisations.During the period investigated Gruvarbetaren was quite radical and advocated a firm class struggle strategy towards employers. Since these were considered unreliable, class struggle was seen as the only way to better the conditions for the working class.

AbstractSouth Africa is a country where apartheid has created a segregated population and the countrys cultural traditions affects the human situations in a unique way. Equalities between gender, class and ethnicity is a main focus for female activists in their work to give the exposed population tools and knowledges to stand up for themselves to cope with the unbalanced structure. This examination paper is done in a qualitative case study in South Africa. The content consists of thourough descriptions of how the society is percieved by four different people, explained by feministic theories and former research that is connected to the papers purpose and question formulations. The purpose of this paper is to examine how Sikhula Sonke, a women´s movement in South Africa looks at the female?s situation in the society and how they are going about their work to improve social equality.

Syfte och frågeställningarHuvudsyftet med denna studie var att se om ett vertikalhopp eller ett trippelhopp uppvisade större känslighet att identifiera skillnader mellan opererat och icke-opererat ben i jämförelse med ett horisontalhopp hos individer som genomgått främre korsbands(ACL)-rekonstruktion.Studien syftade även till att undersöka om individens kön påverkade resultatet och om prestationen på de olika hoppen hade ett samband med isokinetisk benstyrka respektive det knäspecifika instrumentet KOOS, The Knee injury and Osteoarthritis Outcome Score.Metod17 försökspersoner, 9 män och 8 kvinnor (medelålder 28 år) deltog i studien. De hade alla genomgått primär unilateral ACL-rekonstruktion i genomsnitt 7 månader tidigare. Vid ett och samma mättillfälle utfördes ett isokinetiskt styrketest samt tre funktionella hopp: vertikalhopp (?Jump and Reach?), trippelhopp samt horisontalhopp. KOOS fylldes i av försökspersonerna runt samma tidpunkt (nätbaserat frågeformulär för utvärdering av patientens upplevelse av sitt knä och knärelaterade besvär).ResultatVertikalhoppet uppvisade en högre sensitivitet i jämförelse med horisontalhoppet vid test 7 månader efter ACL-rekonstruktion.Gällande de absoluta värdena (opererat ben) uppvisade både vertikalhoppet som trippelhoppet ett statistiskt samband med explosiv quadricepsstyrka (240grader/sekund), r=0,75 respektive r=0,73.Inget samband kunde ses mellan hopp och resultatet på KOOS.Inga könsskillnader hittades.SlutsatsResultaten visar att vertikalhoppet är ett mer sensitivt test för att identifiera funktionella nedsättningar i ACL-rekonstruerat knä i jämförelse med horisontalhoppet som ofta används som ?gold standard? i forskning och i den kliniska vardagen.En enkel och billig testmetod för vertikalhoppet, ?Jump and Reach? som användes i denna studie visar liknande resultat på sensitiviteten i jämförelse med datoriserade mätmetoder som är dyra och ofta inte tillgängliga i sjukgymnastens kliniska vardag..

The town square is an important public space and is often described as the city´s living room. By creating a lively city center a sense of security is developed among the citizens which makes them wanting to use the town square regardless the time of the day. One important meeting point in Gävle is the centrally located Stortorget, sited between Drottninggatan and Nygatan. The town square went through an extensive renovation followed by both positive and negative reactions among the City´s inhabitants.  The aim with the study was to investigate the main walking paths and meeting points as a planning support to Gävle Municipality in their work with a new city plan. By studying the pedestrian movement patterns at Stortorget, Nygatan and Drottninggatan, the main walking paths and meeting points during all hours of the day was obtained.

Trade is the driving force for economic development. A greater equity in international trade can improve the livelihoods and the well being of producers in developing countries. The small-scale farmers have limited resources and have difficulties to get access to the international market. As a result of this, the Fair Trade movement has been developed and has now formed a trading partnership between the producer and the consumer. This study analyses if the Fair Trade movement can be a way for the workers in developing countries to achieve more justice in their production manner in the international trade of cut flowers and continue to be an important competitor of these products, but with better livelihood conditions. My method has been to do a comprehensive literature study of the Fair Trade movement, in which I describe the certification process, and the market of Fair Trade in Sweden.

This study is about how eurhythmic teachers create a comfortable and educational environment in their classrooms. In other words how they create a healthy working environment. Four teachers were chosen for the study, one of them male. I?ve used qualitative interviews because I believe it's the best method to collect information that illustrates what a teacher's working situation looks like and what he/she does to realize their own ideas.

This essay concerns dance as an exhibition object by examining the permanent exhibition at The Museum of Dance in Stockholm, Dansmuseet. Due to its dependence on the temporality and movement of the lived body, dance does not easily lend itself to being exhibited in a traditional exhibition display; and since the live dance performance itself is ostensibly absent at the exhibition display, other means of representation must be relied upon in order to evoke the exhibition visitors? experiences of time and movement as well as the feeling of dance. Starting from a phenomenological first-person perspective, as an exhibition visitor, I present three ways in which such experiences may come about. The cross-section of the experience evoked and the means that trigger them are intermedial, spatial, and performative taking their departure in the visitor?s pre-understanding of dance..

AbstractThe struggle for land has been an issue ever since Brazil was colonized by the Portuguese Crown. The deep social inequalities that the country faces were raised then. More than 45% of the agricultural land is controlled by only 1% of the landowners. There have been many movements since then, who has fought for agrarian reforms.MST, the largest social movement in Brazil, was born in the 1980s. They managed to mobilize the peasants and the poor people.

This paper describes the Swedish reconnaissance squads in the engineer battalions, their equipment, tasks and organization. An analysis is made to compare the present weapons and fire power of the reconnaissance squad with an extended weapon alternative. The analysis focuses on the abilities effect, protection and movement in different situations typical of a reconnaissance squad.The facts that are presented in this paper are mostly founded on the new field manual FältarbR Dyktjänst 2007, which regulates much of the reconnaissance activities. Begreppet EBO har sedan 1991 gradvis växt fram som ett viktigt och centralt begrepp kopplat tillgenomförandet av operationer. Senaste exemplet är Operation Iraqi Freedom som började 2003 därförespråkarna anser att det fanns ett effektbaserat tankesätt från koalitionens sida i genomförandet. Detfinns dock många olika beskrivningar av vad begreppet egentligen innebär vilket gör att man kan diskuteraförekomsten av det effektbaserade tankesättet i en operation.Syftet med denna uppsats är att ge ett perspektiv på effektbaserade operationer samt att ge en fördjupadbeskrivning av uttrycket genom att ta fram kriterier som kan användas för att påvisa förekomsten avtankesättet i en specifik operation.Uppgiften besvaras genom att undersöka följande frågor.? Hur är det möjligt att förstå konceptet EBO i förhållande till begreppet Counter-insurgency?? Använder Koalitionen ett effektbaserat tankesätt när de genomför upprorsbekämpning i IRAKunder 2004?? Vilken effekt fick det effektbaserade tankesättet på operationerna?Resultatet av undersökningen visar att det förekommer effektbaserat tankesätt i de två COINoperationernai Haditha och Fallujah. Effekterna av båda operationerna är enligt amerikanska källorväldigt positiva vilket kan stämma i det korta perspektivet utifrån tilldelade uppgifter.
