Mind the Gap En explorativ studie i hur storföretag verksamma i Sverige stänger gapet mellan strategi och prestation samt vilka paralleller som kan dras till Corporate Performance Management
Bakgrund & Problem: Många studier pekar på att det är stor skillnad mellan den formuleradeföretagsstrategin och den faktiska prestationen. Detta har benämnts som ?The Strategy toPerformance Gap?. En föreslagen metod för att komma tillrätta med detta gap är Gartner GroupsCorporate Performance Management (CPM) initiativ. Stora och internationellt verksamma företagborde ha mest att tjäna på att minska gapet, de torde även vara de som har kommit längst inyttjandet av nya teorier för att nå dit.
Ulf Ekmans konversion till Katolska kyrkan i svensk dagspress : Diskussion utifrån ett diskursanalytiskt perspektiv
The purpose of this paper is to analyze the reasons a religious minority leader has to convert to a larger religious group and how the leader chooses to communicate this event in certain daily press. In March 2014 the leader and founder of the Christian and charismatic movement ?Livets Ord? (Words of Life), Ulf Ekman, announced his decision converting to the Roman Catholic Church after a 10 year long process of thinking. The communications of Ekman?s linguistic language in the articles are discussed through two discourse analyzing perspective, Laclau & Mouffe?s and Fairclough?s.
Corporate Governance och incitament inom banksektorn - En studie av kompensationsutbetalningar och risktagande i samband med finanskrisen
Med utgångspunkt i dagens debatt kring omfattande kompensationer i banksektorn har vi valtatt i denna uppsats undersöka korrelationen mellan kompensation till ledandebefattningshavare och antagen kreditrisk och korrelationen mellan kompensation till ledandebefattningshavare och lönsamhet inom några av Europas största banker. Vi undersöker ävenom det föreligger någon trend över åren 2006-2011 för kompensation och beviljad kredit.Genom en kvantitativ metodansats har vi samlat in data och analyserat denna med hjälp avredan existerande teorier. Resultatet av undersökningen visar att det varken föreligger någrakorrelationer eller tydlig trend för de undersökta variablerna. Slutsatserna vi kan dra är attförhållandet mellan kompensation och kreditrisk och förhållandet mellan kompensation ochlönsamhet är komplexa och kan inte förklaras med några enkla samband. Design och implementering av styrlagar för generisk flygplansmodell
For research purposes Saab has developed a generic mathematical model denoted VEGAS of an aircraft with a configuration similar to JAS 39 Gripen. Today parts of Gripen backup control system are used also for VEGAS making the system subject to both corporate and defense secrecy. The main objective of this master thesis is to design, verify and implement public pitch axis flight control system for VEGAS. Furthermore, simplifications regarding the design process is to be examined. Design of pitch axis flight control system for the entire flight envelope has been carried out.
Institutionella ägares inverkan på redovisningskonservatism - En empirisk studie av företag noterade på Stockholmsbörsen
The increasing holdings by institutional investors have raised concerns about the institutions passive investment strategies and the implications for corporate governance. A way for investors to address moral hazard and opportunistic behaviour of management is to demand conservatism in accounting practices. This paper analyses the relation between institutional ownership and accounting conservatism in the Swedish market by studying firms on the Nasdaq OMX Stockholm over a three-year period. Furthermore, the study investigates whether ownership by institutions with high probability of monitoring managers leads to higher conservatism in financial reporting. To measure accounting conservatism this study uses the asymmetric timeliness measure developed by Basu (1997).

The United Nations has, during many years, developed a model for a globally harmonized system for classification and labeling of chemicals, with the aim of it becoming a global standard. This system is implemented in the European Union through the CLP-regulation and is now working parallel to the existing directives until 1st of June 2015, when all the new classifications of substances and mixtures must be completed. The aim of this project was to adjust the laboratory to the new legislation, through inventory of stored chemicals, update the list of chemicals and perform self-classifications of mixtures. The work included handling of about 650 different chemicals with varying hazard classifications and search for information in corporate websites and chemical databases. This resulted in a new and complete list of chemicals stored and used in the laboratory and, in addition, an example of how to make a self classification of a mixture.

Resiliensforskning, varumärke och identitet : Stockholm Resilience Centres nyhetsbrev i ett marknadskommunikationsperspektiv
Since the beginning of 2007 Stockholm Resilience Centre has produced scientifictransdisciplinary research in the subjects of sustainability and resilience. There is a highambition to communicate the results of the research to key stakeholders. One of the targetgroups is policy makers, because the mission identifies this group as important when reachingfor the main goal (vision) of the research institute. The media of choice is an e-newsletterwith the latest resilience research produced within Stockholm Resilience Centre. It is at thesame time an opportunity to bring forth the organisations objective connected with the vision.The newsletter is studied in the light of marketing communication with the purpose to clarifythe needs of policy makers, examine the limits and possibilities of the media and theorganisational aspects with the intention to give guidelines concerning the development of thenewsletter.

Today, Sweden has about forty companies owned by the government. These are active on markets with variable competition. Some have been given special areas of responsibility that in a practical notion make them monopolists. The period when most public companies where formed (and with that the following subjection to competition) during the nineties and early 2000's, forced the formerly protected businesses to act on the terms of the open market. Parallel to this development the brand has for the last twenty years evolved into something great strategic importance for the business, including the business-to-businesses (B2B).

Kläder och identitet är starkt förknippade eftersom människan mer eller mindre är beroende av kläder, åtminstone på våra breddgrader. Med kläder visar vi också vilka vi är och vilken grupp vi tillhör. Vår studie syftar till att undersöka hur lärare förhåller sig till ett införande av obligatorisk skoluniform. Fokus ligger på hur ett införande av obligatorisk skoluniform påverkar eleverna i relation till mobbning. Metoden som användes var kvalitativ och datainsamlingen skedde genom tio intervjuer.
Styrelsesammansättning - och dess inverkan på företagets prestation
Uppsatsens syfte är att söka klarlägga om olika styrelseutformning, med avseende på sex bestämda faktorer, påverkar företagets prestation och om det går att genom statistisk analys fastslå om dessa faktorer utgör en mätbar påverkan på prestationen. Faktorererna utgörs av styrelsemedlemmarnas kön, genomsnittålder, andel utländska ledamöter i styrelsen som på ett direkt sett utgör oilka kategorier av styrelsemedlemmar. Dessutom har uppsatsen sett på effekten av styrelsens storlek och ledamöternas eventuella beroende. Dessa faktorer har jämförts med ett prestationsmått som utgjorts av företagets värdeförändring på börsen, korrigerat med respektive branschindex. Jämförelsen har gjorts över fem år, med hjälp av regressionsanalys.

The purpose of this study is to investigate and increase the understanding of how the two commercial companies IKEA and SAS and the two aid organizations/nonprofit organizations UNICEF and Save the Children use perceptions of Christmas to produce messages in their Christmas advertising/commercial film. The study also discusses if there may be communicative and pictorial similarities and differences in how these brands constructs messages in commercials, and why it may be that the brands choose to use these messages in commercials based on the recipient possible interpretations. The theories used in this study are promotional culture, framing theory, preferred meaning, semiotics (denotation and connotation), myth and rhetoric (ethos, pathos and logos). The method used to answer the purpose and issues are the qualitative method that uses the theories semiotic and rhetoric to analyze the material. The study's results derived from the qualitative content analyzes of the material (the brands IKEA, SAS, UNICEF and Save the Children Christmas advertising films) show that IKEA message might want to show that they want to help the customer and that they pay attention to the customer needs.
Mer än bara vatten? : En kritisk diskursanalys av Ramlösa och Lokas CSR-initiativ
Syfte: Syftet med studien är att identifiera skillnader och likheter i Ramlösa och Lokas CSR-initiativ, samt att placera deras hållbarhetstexter i relation till vårt teoretiska ramverk.Metod: Kritisk diskursanalys av Ramlösa och Lokas texter kring deras CSR-arbete.Slutsatser: Alla delar av Carrolls CSR-pyramid inkluderas i båda verksamheternas texter, men den etiska byggstenen är mest framträdande hos båda. Det framkom att den främsta explicita skillnaden låg inom den filantropiska byggstenen. Loka har valt ett mer lågmält förhållningssätt gällande framställningen av sitt filantropiska arbete till skillnad från Ramlösa som påvisar sitt filantropiska arbete på både hemsida, reklamfilmer samt på dess flaskor. Båda företagens texter vidmakthåller och bidrar till den rådande diskursordningen inom CSR. .

The history of environmental reporting began in the early 1990?s when some companies included the environmental issue in their annual report. The increased interest of ethical and sustainable investments and demands from different stakeholders conjure a change of the report design. To develop the environmental reports and create design guidance for sustainability reports an organisation called Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) was born. The GRI is environmental reporting taken to another level, a level that is according to sustainable development.

Shareholder, who decides to continue with the company, can cause that they become per-sonally liable for its upcoming obligations. Creditors must lodge an appeal against the shareholder to get compensation for the harm they have suffered. The damage rules in Swedish company law are designed to utilize the company?s interest, that is, shareholders and other corporate members shall promote the interests of the company and not cause damage.The rules about compensation that shareholder obligates itself to are difficult to apply and are adapt to the specific cases. For a shareholder to be personally responsible in a real situation a company has to establish a subsidiary company, which is being driven undercapitalized, intended to benefit the shareholder.
