The field of coping has become more developed during the past decades but there is still a lot to be discovered and discussed. Theories of developmental psychology describe the possibility to map a general developmental structure of how the human mind expands. The aim of this study is to contribute to further research in whether there is a reason why we cope the way we do in relation to age. The questions answered in this study was, what coping two girls, whom lived during the Holocaust, used and how the coping found, were possible to interpret from theories of developmental psychology. In order to answer the questions asked a method called Template Analysis Style and three different theories have been applied.

The purpose of the following study is to examine whether or not differences can be found between a group of aspiring police students (N=59) and a student group (N=20). Comparisons were made between the following variables: general illhealth, subjective experienced stress, trait anxiety and the three coping strategies, which are emotion focused coping, problem focused coping and seeking social support. In addition the results were compared with former research on the general illhealth and trait anxiety of the police students with that of a group police officers with several years of experience (N=69).The result of this showed that the police students had a significantly better level of general than the studentgroup. Several positive relations between the variables were found, among others between illhealth and trait anxiety, subjective experienced stress and trait anxiety and also between different types of coping strategies and subjective experienced stress..

The purpose of this study is to examine how the identity of teenagers is affected by the loss of a parent as well as what coping strategies support identity development. The reactions the teenagers exhibit, in such circumstances, will also be examined. To accomplish this,  a theory package was created, comprising theories in developmental psychology, identity work, coping and theory of grief reactions of children and teenagers. This package provided a broad perspective, which facilitated the analysis. Furthermore, it made it easier to address the purpose and the issue of the analysis.

The adolescents also reported that they experienced a feeling of vulnerability, altered body image and that they saw themselves as different from healthy subjects.

Sjuksköterskor behöver då en strategi för att klara av det dagliga arbetet. Syftet var att belysa sjuksköterskors erfarenheter av palliativ vård och vilka Coping-strategier som kan användas för att hantera känslomässiga påfrestningar som kan uppkomma inom den palliativa vården. Litteraturstudien utgick från vetenskapliga artiklar som analyserats med hjälp av manifest innehållsanalys.

The aim of this qualitative study was to investigate the participants experiences of a parent support group and the effect of their participation on their parental role from a learning perspective. As the parent support group takes place as a group activity, the focus was on the individual learning processes which, in turn, are influenced by both the group itself as well as the leaders of the group. The empirical data was collected from a focus group interview with four mothers, and analyzed using empowerment and coping theories. Based on the participants´ narratives, the result showed that the parent support group had a great social and pedagogic effect on the participants. As a result of the received knowledge in the group from both leaders as well as from other participants, they felt less stressed and more confident in their parental role.

Bakgrund: Palliativ vård definieras som vård som ges till patienter vid deras sista tid i livet och målet är att lindra patienters lidande och främja livskvaliteten. För att sjuksköterskorna ska kunna skapa god omvårdnad krävs kunskap, helhetssyn och förmågan att förmedla trygghet.Syfte: Att belysa sjuksköterskors erfarenheter av att arbeta med palliativ vård.Metod: En systematisk litteraturstudie som inkluderade nio artiklar från tre olika databaser. Artiklarna analyserades utifrån kvalitativ innehållsanalys med induktiv ansats enligt Lundman & Graneheim (2008).Resultat: I resultatet framkom att palliativ vård är väldigt krävande för sjuksköterskor och det behövs mycket resurser för att de som arbetar inom detta område ska orka med sitt arbete. Huvudfynden presenterades i Sjuksköterskors professionella förhållningssätt, Innebörden av att arbeta med palliativ vård samt Sjuksköterskornas behov av Coping-strategier.Slutsats: Sjuksköterskors personliga egenskaper och kvaliteter hade stor betydelse för att ge god palliativ vård. Stort behov av stöd i form av exempelvis handledning krävdes för att sjuksköterskorna skulle klara av att vårda patienter palliativt.

Syfte: Beskriva förberedande faktorer vilket kan ha betydelse vid smärtsamma procedurer på barn. Vidare var syftet att granska vilket urval de inkluderade artiklarna använt sig av.Metod: Beskrivande litteraturstudie. Litteraturstudien grundar sig på tjugotvå inkluderade artiklar. Tre stycken artiklar med kvalitativ ansats, sjutton stycken med kvantitativ ansats, samt två med både kvalitativ och kvantitativ ansats.Resultat: Fyra områden vilka kan ha betydelse vid smärtsamma procedurer på barn framkom. Distraktion: ett effektivt verktyg mot oro och ångest.

Alzheimer?s disease has increasing effects on the Swedish population. Now, about 90 000 swedes have been diagnosed with the disease. Many of these persons are cared for by someone close to them. The aim of this study is to increase understanding for the situation and experiences of the persons caring for their affected partner and to examine which support they are given by the public sector.

Kronisk njursvikt är ett allvarligt och på sikt livshotande sjukdomstillstånd.Patienten med kronisk njursvikt utsätts för en mängd stressorer relaterade till sjukdomstillståndet och hemodialysbehandlingen. För att utföra omvårdnad behöver sjuksköterskor kunskap om hur patienten hanterar dessa stressorer. Syftet med litteraturstudien var att belysa hanteringsstrategier vid sjukdomsrelaterade stressorer hos patienten med hemodialys. Sju vetenskapliga artiklar analyserades. Två kategorier framkom i resultatet som var "att få förutsättninar för coping" och "att ha förutsättningar för coping".

Syftet med studien var att undersöka hur manliga elitfotbollspelare (1) upplever stress under sin rehabilitering samt (2) vilka typer av strategier de använder sig av för att minska den upplevda stressen under sin rehabilitering. Elitfotbollspelarna (N=11) med en medelålder på 22 år besvarade en semistrukturerad intervjuguide gällande stress och coping under rehabilitering. Intervjuerna analyserades genom tematisk innehållsanalys. Resultatet visade att elitfotbollspelare upplever störst press och stress från sig själva och att det sociala nätverket är en viktig del för att handskas med upplevd stress. Resultatet visade även att positiv inställning är en viktig komponent för att få ett bra rehabiliteringsutfall.
