This master thesis has been carried out on behalf of Stoneridge Electronics AB and is an investigation ofhow intelligent switches can replace the traditionally used direct controlled switches. The concept ofintelligent switches is that the switches contain electronic identification components which, by connectingthem to a network, give the same function independent of the location of the switch. This infers anincreased flexibility and configurability which can be a great advantage in development, production andcustomization in the commercial vehicle industry. Especially in the current situation when commercialvehicle manufacturers provides more and more functions and dashboard configurations.LIN (Local Interconnect Network) is a network protocol introduced in 1999. It is a simpler and lower costcomplement to CAN (Controller Area Network) and is adapted for applications where the demands forbandwidth are lower, for example reading sensors and switchers.

With the advance in computer and network technologies, multimedia systems and Internet applications are becoming more popular. As broadband network is prevailing, more clients are able to watch streaming videos or to play multimedia data over the Internet in real-time. Consequently, there is an increasing demand in the Internet for streaming video systems. As the run-time environment of such applications tends to be dynamic, it is imperative to handle transient overloads effectively. The goal of this work is to develop an algorithm that would provide a robust and controlled behavior of the video system so that important data is delivered on time to the video clients.

Through extensive research it has shown that today?s sail boat owners are very frustrated concerning the limited choice of engine alternatives offered by today?s market. Besides rising fuel-costs, environmental awareness is very important in today?s society. Hence it is vital to find alternative environmental-friendly motors and replace combustion-engines. Zilent Ocean is an extensive project within Development engineering program at Halmstad University.

Syftet med denna uppsats var att beskriva och analysera projektControllerns roll inom de projektintensiva enheterna FACTS och Substations på ABB AB. Studien bygger på tre personliga intervjuer utförda med projektControllers samt sex platsannonser som analyserats. Teorin består av två delar, dels projektaspekten och dels Controlleraspekten. Första delen behandlar vad ett projekt är och vad det innebär att jobb i projektform. Andra delen, Controlleraspekten, handlar om Controllers ursprung kontra dagens roll och dess arbetsuppgifter.

This masters thesis concerns a modeling project performed at Volvo Technology in Gothenburg, Sweden. The main purpose of the project has been to develop a physical model of the climate in construction vehicles that later on can be used in the development of an electronic climate Controller. The focus of the work has been on one type of wheel loader and one type of excavator. The temperature inside the compartment has been set equal to the notion climate. With physical theories about air flow and heat transfer in respect, relations between the components in the climate unit and the compartment has been calculated.

I dagens platsannonser frågas det ofta efter Controllers, men få vet egentligen vad yrket innebär eftersom rollen skiljer sig från arbetsplats till arbetsplats. Vi ville studera detta diffusa begrepp för att få en större klarhet i vad titeln innebär och vilka arbetsuppgifter som är karakteristiska Controlleruppgifter. Syftet med uppsatsen är att beskriva vilka arbetsuppgifter som har störst betydelse i olika organisationer. Utifrån tidigare forskning har vi skapat en modell som visar en uppdelning mellan olika organisationsformer och vilken/vilka av Controllerns funktioner som blir extra betonad i de olika.Vi har gjort en undersökning omfattande 30 telefonintervjuer med Controllers eller personer med motsvarande arbetsuppgifter. Intervjuerna har utgått från en intervjuguide med både öppna och slutna frågor.

Världen blir mer och mer datoriserad, detta gäller inte minst olika typer av fordon. Datorerna i fordonen blir allt mer avancerade. Detta har lett till att de verktyg som används för utveckling av dessa datorer inte längre klarar av att hantera de allt större datamängderna som genereras. För att råda bot på detta valde BAE Systems att implementera ett nytt protokoll för kommunikation med datorerna i fordonen, nämligen XCP (Universal Calibration Protocol). Genom att implementera XCP över Ethernet går det att överföra betydligt större datamängder än tidigare, då man använde CCP (CAN Calibration Protocol), som använder sig av CAN bussen (Controller Calibration Protocol) istället för Ethernet.

The ability to tackle NP-hard problems has been greatly extended by the introduction of Metaheuristics (see Blum & Roli (2003)) for a summary of most Metaheuristics, general problem-independent optimisation algorithms extending the hill-climbing local search approach to escape local minima. One of these algorithms is Iterated Local Search (ILS) (Lourenco et al., 2002; Stützle, 1999a, p. 25ff), a recent easy to implement but powerful algorithm with results comparable or superior to other state-of-the-art methods for many combinatorial optimisation problems, among them the Traveling Salesman (TSP) and Quadratic Assignment Problem (QAP). ILS iteratively samples local minima by modifying the current local minimum and restartinga local search porcedure on this modified solution. This thesis will show how ILS can be implemented for MSA.

Precer Group har en patenterad teknologi för förbränning av fasta bränslen, till exempel pellets eller metallbränslen. Tekniken är användbar till bland annat fordon och nu är deras vision är att skapa en ny typ av miljövänligt och bränslesnålt fordon som drivs av fast bränsle. Det kommer att vara ett lättviktsfordon med seriehybriddrivlina. Drivlinan till fordonet kommer att bestå av Precers förbränningsenhet, en värmemotor, generator, batteri, motor Controller och en eller flera elmotorer med tillhörande kraftelektronik.Vi har gjort en studie på vilka typer av elmotorer som kan användas för fordonsdrift och jämfört olika lösningar på vilka motorer och Controllers som kan passa till fordonet Precer Group kommer att tillverka. Vi har också gjort en bedömning om det kan vara användbart med regenerativ bromsning i fordonet och på vilka sätt tekniken kan implementeras.Den generator vi anser lämpligast till värmemotorn är en borstlös DC-generator då den har hög toppverkningsgrad och en passande karaktäristik för att användas till värmemotorn.

Linux is a growing operating system in embedded systems. Today, Linux is not only in heavy servers but also in cell phones, PDAs, cameras and other devices running on battery power. While current technology is more energy efficient, more and more technologies are implemented into a single unit resulting in an overall increase of power consumption.Low power consumption is an increasingly important feature of a system today. Lower power consumption means lower costs, less environmental impact, and longer life for applications that runs on batteries.This work compiles methods to reduce power consumption of Linux systems. The work includes examining whether the available opportunities are platform-specific or of a more general nature.

The aim of the Master?s Thesis work is to study and develop algorithms for autonomous travel of a UGV (Unmanned Ground Vehicle). A vehicle for the mounting of sensors has been constructed in order to perform the work. Since the UGV is to be used outdoor in urban areas, GPS can be used. To improve precision and robustness, inertial navigation is used in addition to GPS, since GPS reception is likely to be diminished in such areas.

Bakgrund: En viktig fråga hos företag rör belöningssystem och hur dessa ska utformas, såväl hos chefer som hos anställda. Belöningssystem inkluderar allt från lön och bonus till kompetensutveckling. Belöningar finns för att motivera de anställda, men är belöningar alltid bra? Det är inte bara förändringen av belöningssystem som kan leda till negativa reaktioner. En faktor kan vara att implementeringen i sig kan få negativa konsekvenser. Syfte: Huvudsyftet med denna studie är att utvärdera det nya belöningssystemet och hur det har påverkat lastbilschaufförerna inom Södra Skogs åkeri.

Two of Swedens´s major banks, SEB and Handelsbanken, which appears in the same industry and have similar strategy. Both banks can achieve a similar result despite the fact that their reward system looks quite different. An issue that arises from this observation is the relative reward system to the rest of the economy control system.Our purpose of this paper is therefore to examine the reward system in the organization's financial management systems. We wonder if the reward system may be a function of economic control system, or part of the system, or perhaps made independent of the system and then gradually adapted?In our study, we choose to assume a reward system has three functions to manage, motivate and compose the employee group.

SammanfattningDetta examensarbete har haft till syfte att ta fram nya metoder för automatiseradtestning och validering av information som skickas över CAN (Controller-Area-Network)i en tung Lastbil. Signalinnehållet realiseras i flertalet komplexa och distribueradesystem. En implementering har gjorts där loggad CAN-trafikdata från en HIL (HardwareIn the Loop) miljö automatiskt analyserats och testats.Testen har genomförts på två nivåer: funktionell och ickefunktionell. Där denickefunktionella delen har testat tidkrav på meddelanden med kompensation förtändningsstörningar. Dessutom har signalinnehållet testats för att finna ogiltigafelflaggor.
