Ett ytterligare syfte var att undersöka tandhygienisters anledningar till varför anestesi används eller inte används. En enkätstudie skickades till 148 tandhygienister slumpmässigt utvalda av Sveriges Tandhygienistförening. Nittio enkäter (60,8 %) inkluderades i studiens resultat. Anestesi vid depuration användes främst en till två gånger per vecka med ett medelvärde på 38,6 % (±29,8).

Today there is an increasing market for businesses concerning horses, and since we are already running such establishments we sort of speak already have a finger in the pie. Due tothe increasing competition and demands, new and more practical constructions have become a necessity. In doing this project I wanted to make a comparison between having a stable integrated with a manege and having both constructions kept separate. I wanted to compare different layout and make an estimate of costs to see which solution would be less expensive and better with regard to working environment. I will further also deal with different ventilation-systems andlight transmissions.

ABSTRACT. Introduction: Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) is a retrovirus which occurs worldwide and spreads between humans mainly through sex, from mother to child, blood and blood products and between injecting drug users. After been infected with HIV for a couple of years the final stage of the infection progress into Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS), and there is no cure or vaccine, only medication that delays the development of the disease. Objective: The aim of this thesis is to examine the preventive work against HIV in Sweden, the groups at risk for getting infected and to highlight sexual attitudes and behaviours among adolescents and young adults. Method: A literature based study method was used and the material is based on scientific articles and reports from active actors within the field of HIV prevention.

AbstractSAAB has for a long time used user controlled pilot models in ARES. ARES is a simulation tool used in the desktop environment for simulations and calculations of the JAS 39 Gripen fighter and other aircraft. ARES stands for ?Aircraft Rigid body Engineering Simulation?. To work with these pilot models has been both time-consuming and inefficient.

This pre-study investigates the possibility of U-value measurements through an acoustic method. A hypothesis about an acoustic model built on acoustic theories combined with U-value theories is presented to answer the questions: ? Can U-value theory be combined with acoustic theories? ? Can the coefficient of heat be affirmed trough an acoustic measurement? The idea for this dissertation begun with a logical idea in mathematical similarity, between the coefficient of heat transmission units and sound intensity units. The U-value theory is based on assumptions such as initial resistance for inner walls and initial resistance for outer walls. The resistance in the material is interpreted through sound intensity theory. The argument is built upon mass law theory, which means if the frequency or thickness of the material layer doubles it implies an increase of sound reduction by 6 dB.

Syftet med denna systematiska litteraturöversikt var att utreda om det finns stöd i litteraturen avseende vilken betydelse kostens innehåll av polyfenoler och vitaminer kan ha för parodontala sjukdomar. Material och metod: En sökning i PubMed gjordes i mars 2012. Sökningen begränsades till humana studier på engelska och publicerade mellan januari 1990 och mars 2012. Kriterier för inkludering var: ?randomized controlled trial?, ?clinical controlled trial?, ?clinical trial? och ??humans.

Syftet med denna litteraturstudie är att ge en överblick i hur epiduralanestesi utförs och vilka risker och fördelar som tekniken medför. Epiduralanestesi är en typ av lokalanestesi och central nervblockad. Anestesimedlet injiceras extraduralt, det vill säga i epiduralrummet utanför den hårda hjärnhinnan (dura mater) vilken omger ryggmärgen. Användning av lokalanestetika vid ryggmärgens slut resulterar i förlust av viljestyrda rörelser och i upphörd känsel i områden innerverade av de påverkade känsel- och motorneuronen. Epidural administration av morfin ger långvarig (6-24h), effektiv analgesi som ej associeras med känsel-, sympatisk- eller motorblockad. Epiduralanestesi används framförallt för tre typer av patienter och situationer: Häst och ko (vid vaginal prolaps och kejsarsnitt), känsliga smådjur (nedsatta patienter som riskerar att inte överleva generell anestesin och vid kejsarsnitt) och postoperativ smärtlindring (patienter i behov av långvarig smärtlindring efter kirurgiska ingrepp i bakben, bäcken och kaudala delar av buken). Inom smådjurspraktiken läggs epiduralanestesi oftast i foramen lumbosacale (mellan L7 och S1) Området lokaliseras genom att fram höftbenskammarnas (crista iliaca) högsta punkt.

This is a study of some risk factors for Diabetes Mellitus (DM) in dogs. As a pilot study it is meant to give information to be used in a planned later, larger and better controlled study. The present study hypothesized that suboptimal feeding (high percentage of homemade and table foods), lack of activity and overweight contribute to the risk of DM. Twenty consecutive dogs diagnosed with DM at the Veterinary University Clinic in Uppsala between 2000 ? 2003 were chosen as the experimental group.

Propofol is an intravenously administered, hypnotic and short- acting pharmaceutical. One common sideeffect (>1:10) and therefore a disadvantage with propofol is the local pain that arise when the initial injection is given. Why the pain arise is not clearly understood. A majority of different pharmacological treatments, different doses and combinations, alternative administrations methods and physical interventions have been tried to reduce the pain when injection of propofol is given. One important task for the nurse is to relieve pain for patients.

Stickrädsla och stickfobi hos vuxna påträffas inom sjukvården. Dagligenvärlden över utförs ett flertal blodprovstagningar, injektioner, infusioneroch andra behandlingar som kräver injektionskanyler. Rädslan är därmedrelevant att beskriva och det krävs att problemet uppmärksammas. Syftetmed föreliggande litteraturstudie var att beskriva vilkaomvårdnadsåtgärder hälso- och sjukvårdspersonal kan vidta i mötet medvuxna patienter med stickrädsla. Resultatet av vetenskapligapublikationer visar att det finns olika omvårdnadsåtgärder som kan hjälpatill att minska rädslan.

My work has been an investigation project with focus on reproduction, method, structure and visual representation. The goal was to investigate how a story changes through time and space as well as how graphic design can affect a story depending on the visual representation. The result is a publication, an exploration of these subjects with the help of the book Expedition Kon-Tiki. Using more or less controlled methods of selections I have created different sorts of reproductions of the expedition. Just as subjective as reality itself..

In this study it was investigated if the adoption of a new routine for quality control could improve the precision of the dimension measurement obtained by harvesters. Data was collected from three different harvesters. First, a reference data set was collected before the new procedures had been incorporated, and then when the new methodology was implemented another data set was collected by the harvester operators, allowing the two data set to be compered. The results indicated that following the implementation of the new procedures, the reliability and the precision of the measurements has increased. All harvesters included in the study had improved regarding most of the controlled factors such as standard deviation, systematic difference and hit rate within ± 2 cm for length and ± 4 mm for diameter..

Syftet med studien var att undersöka samband mellan upplevelse av tandvårdsrädsla och smärta hos patienter vid tandhygienistbehandling. Ytterligare ett syfte var att undersöka om det fanns samband mellan kön och ålder i relation till tandvårdsrädsla och smärta. Studien genomfördes med användning av enkäter på patienter som behandlades av tandhygieniststudenter på Högskolan i Kristianstad. I studien ingick 78 respondenter, varav 39 män och lika många kvinnor i åldrarna 21-81 år. Enkäten bestod av två delar.
