En kvalitetskontroll - Snustillverkaren Fiedler & Lundgren kvalitetstestas
This paper aims to describe the variation and develop a method to control the production for the product Metropol Kaktus from the snuff developer Fiedler & Lundgren. We are going to use the requirements from the product specifications as limits of the expected quality when we present methods to control the process. One method attempts to control during the process and the other attempts to maximize the number of products with strived quality before the process starts. Metropol Kaktus is a product produced with high quality, the mean weight is 20,023 gram and this is very close to the weight, 20 gram, which is reported in the product specifications. The variation in weight variable is less than what is reported in the specifications and the minimum weight is over the limit set by Livsmedelsverket.
Högskolestudenter och alkohol : Akademisk locus of control i förhållande till alkoholrelaterade studieproblem
Studenter är bland de som konsumerar mest alkohol i Sverige. Hög alkoholkonsumtion och extern akademisk locus of control (ALC) har liknande negativ effekter på studier. Denna studie undersökte relationen mellan alkoholkonsumtion, ALC och alkoholrelaterade studieproblem. 120 studenter, varav 91 var kvinnor, deltog genom att besvara en enkät bestående av The Academic Locus of Control Scale for College Students, the AUDIT Alcohol Consumption Questions och en egenkonstruerad skala som mätte alkoholrelaterade studieproblem. Data analyserades med en 2 (riskbruk/ickeriskbruk) x 2 (extern ALC/intern ALC) ANOVA för oberoende mätningar.
Demokrati - skyddar det mot fred? : ? en teoriprövande fallstudie på konflikten mellan Ryssland och Georgien 2008
The aim of the following paper has been to test the democratic peace theory through applying it on the conflict between Russia and Georgia in 2008. This to either falsify the theory or come to the conclusion that the states? democracy was not satisfactory in regards to the definition of liberal democracy. The questions asked are: Was Russia and Georgia democratic states? Is democracy a protection from war? And which aspects of the liberal democratic theory, if any, were not satisfactory in either of the countries? The results show that the democratic peace theory is valid in this case and that neither one of the states were democratic.

The purpose of this paper has been to follow how a decision made has developed within anorganization. We have intended to find underlying causes for the development in order to contribute to the understanding of the lifecycle of decisions.The decision we have chosen is Gröna Skolgårdar (Green School Yards) within the city of Västerås. This project has aimed to make the school yards in Västerås more green, more beautiful and more useful for teaching.We have used Grounded Theory Method as our foundation, complemented with decisionmaking theory.The work with this paper has led to the conclusion that Gröna Skolgårdar changed over time, and did not turn out as first intended. This has had several couses such as how resources wasdistributed, political changes, and different views of the project.We have learned that over time a decision can take unexpected paths, and we have contributed with an example of how this can happen..

I dagens samhälle är majoriteten av våra tillgångar digitaliserade och bevarade i olika typer av informationssystem. Genom Access Control (sv. behörighetsstyrning) säkerställs att användare får korrekt åtkomst till dessa tillgångar. I takt med att organisationer genererar allt mer affärskritisk data i sina informationssystem har dock hanteringen av användare och behörigheter komplicerats. En modern genre inom begreppet informationssystem som länge visat ökad tillväxt är Business Intelligence (BI).
Kontroll-lokus och beteende i grupp: en studie om sambandet mellan kontroll-lokus och individers beteende i en arbetsgrupp
The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between locus of control and behavior in a work group. The investigation was performed using two methods, self-report and observation, which were used in order to provide a description of how the individuals experienced their own behavior in a group context as well as of how they actually could be observed to behave. The 31 participants were divided into five groups. During the procedure each group received a task, which was to be discussed and solved by the group members together. Observations were carried out using IPA.

Service branding is a subject that has been excluded from the traditional branding theory. Our main purpose with this paper is to distinguish what characterizes service branding. To do this, we have looked in to both service marketing theory as well as branding theory. We have also looked at the existing theory concerning service branding. Six qualitative interviews have been performed to explain what characterizes service branding.
Lagerkostnadsarbete i teori och praktik: En fallstudie av lagerkostnader på ett sågverksföretag
This thesis investigates how inventory management is practiced at a Swedish sawmill company, how practice differs from theory in this field and how the company could make more use of this theory. To do this we have performed a study on relevant literature and compared our findings with a field study on Moelven Valåsen AB. Our analysis shows that a large gap between theory and practice exists. We identify several reasons to this, including some sector specific problems when calculating cost rate for timber inventories. Suggestions on solutions to these problems and an example of how a cost rate can be estimated with relatively simple means are presented.

This master of science thesis is focusing on how the fault handling on hardware connected toa control unit on a Scania vehicle is working. To the hardware counts buttons levers, sensorsand CAN. The work has been concentrated upon how the fault handling is working and if it ispossible to find any new fault modes.The control unit that has been studied is called the Coordinator and is the core in Scanias threenetworks of control units. The Incentives Behind Capital Structure Decision - A Survey of the Swedish Market -
The aim of this thesis is to investigate which the main determinants of capital structure in Swedish listed firms are and to identify which incentives lies behind managers choice of capital structure determinants. Further, the study investigates whether the Post Keynesian theory and theories which incorporate behavioral aspects can be used to explain the capital structure decisions or if the traditional Neoclassical theory give an better explanation. We have used a qualitative method to analyze the determinants of capital structure and the managers incentives behind capital structure decision. We conducted a survey which was sent to 83 Chief Financial Managers and financial executives in Swedish firms listed on Mid Cap or Large Cap. The questionnaire was on-line which enabled for the respondents to quickly and convenient respond.

This thesis paper is based on Ian Manners Normative Power Europe-theory with a focus on EU?s military operation in Somalia. By examining documents from EU institutions in the form of reports concerning EU NAVFOR ? Operation ATALANTA ? EUTM Somalia ? EUCAP NESTOR. This study shows that the Normative Power Europe-theory can get expressed and that the EU continues its normative statements in Somalia. Hur styrs ett interorganisatoriskt samarbete: en fallstudie om ett samarbetsprojekt inom processindustrin
Tidigare forskning har påvisat vilken positiv verkan olika sorters samarbeten har på innovationer. Interorganisatoriska samarbeten är ett samlingsnamn för olika typer av samarbeten mellan organisationer och dessa kan exempelvis vara nätverk, allianser och forsknings- och utvecklingssamarbeten där det sistnämnda behandlas i vår studie. Organisationer som är involverade kompletterar varandra istället för att konkurrera med varandra. Interorganisatoriska samarbeten uppstår när organisationer söker effektivitet och konkurrensfördelar. Genom att ingå i ett interorganisatoriskt samarbete uppstår en samarbetsfördel som uppnås genom att organisationerna kan tillverka och bistå med olika faktorer som andra organisationer inte kan eller har möjlighet till.

Tidigare ombesörjde organisationen karriär och karriärutveckling för den anställde och karriärkontraktet byggde på livslånga anställningar. Det nya karriärkontraktet bygger istället på en så kallad proteisk karriär (Hall, 1996), vilket utmärks av att individen ser sig själv som ansvarig för och drivande av sin karriär, att egna värderingar får styra samt att psykologisk utveckling är främsta mål. Studiens frågeställning var att undersöka om personlighetsfaktorer i termer av self-efficacy, självkänsla, locus of control samt neuroticism kan predicera proteiska karriärattityder. I studien användes kvantitativ metod och en enkätundersökning genomfördes på studenter. Korrelationsberäkningar visade att samliga personlighetsfaktorer samt proteiska karriärattityder var korrelerade.
