De senaste årens många företagsskandaler i kombination med en intensiv klimatdebatt, har lett till ett ökat fokus på företagens sociala ansvar. En kategori som även är i fokus när företagen beslutar om att avslöja frivillig information. Negativ uppmärksamhet i media kan påverka företagens beslutsfattande angående frivilligt utlämnande av information.

The aim of this study is to find and highlight the differences and similarities in the strategic communication in two real estate businesses with different proprietaries. In order to achieve the purpose, theories and previous research on public relations, strategic communication, mediatization, framing and new public management has been used. The study was conducted through interviews with two different organizations, Lerstenen who is based in Umeå, and Övikshem who is based in Örnsköldsvik. The analysis and results showed that the key difference between the firms was the spontaneity that influenced the private one, in contrast to the public firm that relied on solid structures to manage their communication. The results also showed that differences in basis conditions both allowed and hindered the possibilities with the communicative efforts that the two firms could do..

In this paper, a navigation support approach for speech-only interaction based on auditory icons for room-based designs is presented, i.e. naturally occurring sounds that have a natural mapping to the system's underlying design metaphor. In contrast to many recent investigations that have focused on multi-modal or augmented reality systems, this paper concerns a unimodal speech and sound-only system. An auditory icon based prototype system for buildings maintenance support using a room-based metaphor was developed. The design was evaluated in a comparison with earcons and no-sound designs.

The aim of this thesis is to analyze the media discussions of the rape in Bjästa 2009 and to reveal how stereotypical illusions of ethnicity, religion and gender affect how media understands and defines violence. The rape in Bjästa occurred in a ?Swedish context? but has been defined as honor related in other arenas outside media. This discussion occurred because the whole village turned against the woman that was raped and supported the perpetrator? a phenomena that speaks against the idea of an equal society and a behavior that is usually understood as honor related and something that the ?others? do.

A wild debate broke out inSwedish media in September 2012, after the artistic leader ofKulturhuset in Stockholm; Behrang Miri decided to weed out allthe Tintin albums from the children´s library Tiotretton. Hewanted to start a debate on stereotypes in children´s fiction, andwhat damage they do to children who face them. The purpose ofthe thesis is to carry out a discourse analysis of this media debate,and to identify the different views that are expressed on thedemocratic mission of the libraries, what media they shouldpresent. The method and theory is based on the discourse theory ofErnesto Laclau and Chantal Mouffe and their concepts are used toarrange the analysis around certain themes that build up twodifferent discourses; ?Freedom of information discourse? and the?Weeding out discourse?.The two main questions are: What views of the public librariesselection of works are expressed in the Tintin debate in Tiotretton,and how do the views relate to each other? What concepts arespecific for the debate, and what meanings do they get in thesedifferent views?In the concluding chapter I discuss which consequences theseopposing opinions can have for the future selection processes ofthe library..

En idrottsförenings ekonomi är idag avgörande för hur den sportsliga verksamheten kan bedrivas. Många föreningar måste jobba hårt för att få verksamheten att gå runt. Ett sätt att arbeta på för att få in pengar är att locka företag att sponsra verksamheten.Denna studie ställer upp en hypotes för Uppsalaidrotten om ett linjärt samband mellan föreningarnas synlighet hos publik och i media gentemot deras sponsringsintäkter. Studien undersöker sedan om denna hypotes stämmer genom att studera tre idrottsföreningar valda utefter deras synlighet i media och hos publik samt tre företag som sponsrar Uppsalaidrotten. Den insamlade informationen har analyserats med hjälp av en analysmodell baserat på teorier om sponsring.

Saker som tas upp och diskuteras är teknikutvecklingen och konkurrensen mellan redigeringsprogrammen. Den historiska aspekten presenteras och förklaras för att lägga en grund till hur det ser ut i dagsläget. Några av de sakerna som jag kommer fram till är att teknikutvecklingen ofta sker på användbarhetens bekostnad och att användaren ofta måste anpassa sig efter tekniken.

The purpose of the thesis is to examine the thoughts and opinions of a selected group of people regarding the terrorist attack that occurred in Stockholm 12/11-2010. This study has been conducted through the method of focus group interview. The study was methodologically and theoretically inspired by Grounded Theory, which simply means that the participants' opinions have formed the theory of the study. As a result of the study, we can see that the main focus of the discussion held by the participants was through a we and them thinking-perspective. Furthermore, the study reveals that the participants tried to include who we (muslims) are, and to exclude who they (non muslims) are, while arguing in the discussion. Another definition is the one of here and there, where the participants defined terrorism and what causes it. Finally, media's role was discussed in relation to the creation of the medie-muslim. To explain the participants' perceptive, part of Appadurai?s Fear of small numbers and part of Brune?s Dark magic in the white media was used..

In this essay I trace the historical theme in Djuna Barnes?s Nightwood, stressing the importance of the concept of forgetfulness in the text. Read alongside Nietzsche?s On the Use and Abuse of History for Life as well as his later thoughts on genealogy, the novel can be seen to concern itself with that same dilemma of history that he articulates in his philosophy. That is: how not to be overburdened by historical knowledge to the point where it petrifies life and prevents any real and novel action, and how at the same time, to make oneself conscious of ones own historicity, so as not to be governed to much by the past.I argue that Robin inhabits what Nietzsche would call the unhistorical state, whereas the other characters, in contrast, struggle with their relation to the past.

Syftet med studien är att studera förskolans måltider och hur matematik kan åskådliggöras i dessa, samt se hur pedagogerna synliggör och talar om matematik i måltiderna. För att ta reda på detta har vi tagit hjälp av litteratur, observationer, samtal och social media. Observationer har genomförts av en förskolas måltidssituationer (frukost, lunch och mellanmål) under två dagar. Efter observationerna genomfördes samtal med pedagogerna kring observationernas syfte. Studiens frågeställningar har lagts ut på en social media där verksamma pedagoger medverkar för att se hur pedagogerna talar om matematik i måltiderna.

Syfte & frågeställningar: Studiens syfte var att studera effekten på medieanvändares attityder. För att få en djupare förståelse och uppfattning om effekter på attityden så användes barnläkarfallet som ett exempel av anmälningsfall.Hur och på vilket sätt kan media komma att ha effekt på användarnas attityder?Metod & material: Studien är gjord efter en kvalitativ metod där datainsamlandet bestod av två fokusgrupper. Totalt deltog tio personer och intervjuerna transkriberades och delades upp i teman (kodningsschema) som sedan analyserades enligt framing teorin.Huvudresultat: I resultatet kunde man utläsa att de båda fokusgrupperna hade oliker attityder gentemot barnläkarfallet. Detta trots att de båda fokusgrupperna tidigare hade en liknande uppfattning om hur media arbetar och sade sig vara källkritiska.
