The aim of this master?s thesis is to examine the virtual reference service Ask the Library [Bibblan svarar] from a postmodern perspective. Ask the Library is a Swedish online reference service that is run by the country?s public libraries. The postmodern theories of Jean-François Lyotard are used to study how information is managed and transmitted within the service.

Detta examensarbete beskriver dator- och nätverkssäkerhet. Syftet med detta examensarbete är att undersöka den interna nätverkssäkerheten på en gymnasieskola. Speciellt viktigt att undersöka är de kriterier skolan har, om kriterierna uppfylls och på vilket sätt dessa kan testas. Tester utfördes gällande säkerhetsprogramvaran för att säkerställa att den verkligen var säker mot intrång. Tester genomfördes även för att kontrollera att elevdatorerna hade ett BIOS-lösenord närvarande, att eleverna hade lagringsutrymme på servern men inte kunde överskrida lagringskvoten, och att eleverna var lokala administratörer på en bärbar klientdator.

Denna rapport analyserar testhanteringsverktyg åt Statens Kriminaltekniska Laboratorium. Ett testhanteringsverktyg är ett samlingsnamn på ett verktyg som testar och dokumenterar resultatet på diverse mjukvarutester. I rapporten analyseras tre gratisverktyg, deras funktioner och hur man går tillväga för att använda dem. De tre verktyg som används och betygsätts är Testia Tarantula, TestLink och Testopia. TestLink är det verktyg som får flest poäng, men det är inte det verktyg som slutligen rekommenderas.

Denna studie är en analys av romanen Heart of Darkness (1902) och novellen An outpost ofprogress (1898) av Joseph Conrad (1857-1924) i syfte att undersöka berättelsernashuvudsakliga tematik ur en postkolonial infallsvinkel samt vad Conrads avsikt tycks ha varitmed porträtteringen av elfenbensagenten Kurtz. För att genomföra denna analys har jag gjorten närläsning av Heart of Darkness samt An outpost of progress och samtidigt tolkathändelseförloppen.Tolkningarna är delvis mina egna samt delvis baserat på tidigare forskning. Efter att hagenomfört dessa närläsningar är min slutsats att Conrads huvudsakliga avsikt var att skildaden mänskliga moralens förfall genom den ondskefulla girigheten. Det är denna girighet somhan definierar som det mörka i en människas hjärta. Genom framställningen av Kurtz visarhan exempel på detta samt hur farlig en skicklig retoriker kan vara..

This essay examines middle school students? understanding of a text read aloud to them in English and the connection between the degree of listening comprehension and the expected increase of vocabulary throughout middle school. The same listening comprehension test was carried out in grades 4, 5 and 6 in a middle school in order to survey differences in English listening comprehension in regard to the ability to reproduce the content of an oral text. The result shows that there was a progression from level to level when it comes to comprehension and the number of words reproduced and that this progression was most noticeable between grades 4 and 5..

The purpose of this study is to compare the contents, editorials and front covers of Sweden?s oldest girl?s magazine Veckorevyn during two different years, in which the magazine had two very different chief editors.In the year 2000, Emma Hamberg got the job as editor-in-chief for Veckorevyn, with a vision of changing the way the magazine represented young females. She wanted to add a more feminist viewpoint to the magazine, since she felt that Veckorevyn didn?t live up to its claim of being ?a girl?s best friend?. Six years later, the famous Swedish fashion editor Ebba von Sydow became editor-in-chief for Veckorevyn, with the intention of making the magazine better, smarter and more fun for young girls.

Pomace is the solid remains (i.e. stems, pulp, seeds, and skins) after pressing for juice. The annual production of apple pomace is 593 000 ton worldwide. Its field of application depends on local conditions. In order to investigate the field of application of apple pomace in the Southern Sweden, six persons on companies with production of apple juice were interviewed.

Syftet med denna studie var att försöka datera en sedimentstratigrafi genom att undersöka möjligheten till korrelation med resultaten från en tidigare studie via tefrokronologiska metoder. Tefrokronologi är studierna och metoderna där man identifierar och daterar tefra (vulkanaska) i lagerföljder för att användas som ett synkroniseringsverktyg mellan olika sedimentstratigrafier. I denna studie genomfördes analys av organiskt kol, XRF-scanning, extrahering och mikroskopering av tefra samt försök till kemisk analys genom elektronmikroskopering av en borrkärna från Fågelmossen i södra Sverige. Tefra hittades i botten av borrkärnan och med hjälp detta fynd i kombination med främst analys av organiskt kol kunde borrkärnans stratigrafi korreleras med resultaten från den tidigare studien..

Background: It is required that health care professionals continuously work with patient safety and quality improvements, and the skills of registered nurses are significant in this work. However, quality improvement also requires commitment and knowledge about how to improve health care and ensure patient safety. There is a lack of studies that highlights the importance of supportive functions for this work. Nurses in clinical settings can be utilized as facilitators that make things easier for other health care professionals who are engaged in quality improvement and patient safety. In order to gain understanding about the significance and needs of nurses with a role of facilitator, it is urgent to learn from their experiences of facilitating quality improvement in health care.Aim: The aim was to study nurses? experiences of facilitating quality improvement of nursing care, patient safety and multi-professional collaboration in health care.Method: Semi-structured qualitative interviews were performed with ten registered nurses who had experience of being in the role of facilitators.

AbstractPresentation of the problem: The goal with this graduation project is to produce a new visual concept for the student newspaper Campus, this will be expressed in the form of page templates. The page templates will have a visual concept that appears through graphical elements. The client's wishes were that the student newspaper should be audience appropriate, attractive, inviting, reliable, modern and functional to work with.Theory: In order to implement the wishes and in a good way produce a consistent visual concept, we took a starting point in theory of graphic design. This theory has taken many of its principles from aesthetic theory, and therefore have we also used aesthetics to provide a deeper theoretical aspect. The principles we used in graphic design is; how to create a unity in the layout by using basic elements such as text, images, and white space.

Variation in tuber quality within a single field was one of the motives for a pilot study in Halland, in south-western Sweden conducted during 2002. Quality problems in potatoes have been increasing due to the aggregation of several small fields with different land use history into larger farm units, which are heterogeneous in soil properties and fertility. The study in Halland indicated that both the uniformity and the mean size of tubers may increase from site-specific K fertilization, whereas total yields may be unaffected. The results from this pilot-study with site-specific fertilization showed that tubers reached a more uniform quality and gave a more uniform mean size, while the total yield wasn't affected at all. Site-specific K-fertilization has been applied for some years in Halland with good results. The aim of this study was to test this technique in another potato growing area.
