Sit, Eat, Drink, Talk, Laugh ? Dining and Mixed Media

Sit, Eat, Drink, Talk, Laugh ? Dining and Mixed Media, is an exploratory study of qualities in everyday life and challenges people to enjoy the qualities of mundanity. Seeking inspiration in ethnographic studies, field work was conducted in domestic settings, returning an extensive body of material to work from. The study challenges people to absorb the moment, reflect and enjoy, rather than pacing through a lifetime, with a constant focus on the future instead of the present. This work takes a starting point in food and dining as a social activity, where interactive sound and a reference to online social media is explored through two interventions.

Ett liv i frontlinjen: Ett förteckningsarbete i Margareta Böttigers arkiv

This study is primarily an account of my examination work in archival science which took place in the archive of Margareta Böttiger, the state epidemiologist at the Swedish Institute for Communicable Disease Control Stockholm. The records are from Böttigers period of work, mainly divided into three parts, polio, HIVS/AIDS and vaccination. Of these I have focused on polio with was the area she got renowned for. Moreover, owing to the uniqueness of the material this study has focused on the properties of the archive as a working-life archive which I propose as a special type of personal archive with unique attributes. To summarize, a working-life archive has in comparison with other personal archives a more fluid process of archiving where the profession is important, not the personal production of records.

Palliative care is founded on a holistic attitude, with the goal to alleviate suffering when a cure is no longer possible. Palliative care affirms life and regards dying as a normal process, providing possibilities of a quality time for the patient and family. Studies show that an increasing number of people choose to live the final phase of their life in their own home. A requirement for end of life care is an effective team work, where the nurse is responsible for more advanced care, and the caregiver?s provides the immediate care.

The aim is to find out how teachers apply the knowledge they get from mathematics pilots in preschool and from mathematics developer in the municipality, as well as how they work further towards the children with mathematics. The study is based on qualitative interviews with two teachers, one mathematic pilot and one mathematic developer. They also stressed how important it is to point out to the kids that it is mathematics that they are doing. The conclusion of the study is that the teachers agree that it is their approach towards the children that is important and how they can lead the children?s interest of mathematics forward.

This thesis concerns the term contemporary history and its role in landscape architecture. Today?s contemporary history is defined as the planning and architecture connected to the 60s and 70s, in Sweden carried out as a large scale planning project called ?Miljonprogrammet?, which set out to build one million new residences in ten years. Initially, the term contemporary history and its complex of problem are examined. To deepen the picture of today?s situation, a historical review has been made, starting in early 1900s ending in 2000s concerning how different planning and architectural influences has varied through the years.

En novellsamling blir till

This essay discusses my proposed collection of short stories. The aim has been to examine the texts in terms of form and thematics, and position of the texts in a social context. First I present the collection, and then look at the texts from stylistic angle. I have chosen to use the concept of descriptive style. I have picked out certain parts of my texts in order to see which effect they have on the reader (in this case I).

The use of information technology (IT) has expanded to be available in large parts of the society. With reference to this mobility has become an increasingly used term, which reflects changes in our lifestyle, travelling and mobile artefacts. The technology development that has occurred in recent decades has made it possible for people today to be more mobile than before as they no longer are tied to a fixed workplace. Mobility has changed the ways to lead, coordinate andmeasure work productivity in organizations. It has also added new ways of working. The mobile development also means more challenges and changes in today?s modern organizations. The purpose of this paper is to analyse how employees in a consulting form use mobile technology in a work context, how they interact with others and how individuals reason about mobility.

The purpose of the study was to discover how nurses can maintain a good quality of life for cancerpatients at the end of life. We examined seven scientific articles in accordance with Polit, Beck & Hungler (2001) criteria for scientific validity. We used Carnevali's (1996) model of demand and resources as a frame of reference. The results showed that physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs affect quality of life in different ways. It also came out that it was difficult to measure something as individual as quality of life..
