Since the late 50th century, the automobile has been normative in the Swedish society (Lundin 2008). This has led to an urban environment deeply characterized by the motor vehicle and its necessities, while other means of transportation, such as train and bicycle, have been ignored and put aside. However, over the past decades, a new trend has been seen in urban planning as a consequence of the increasing knowledge of the negative qualities caused by the car. As a result, the bicycle is seen as a conceivable transport mode.This thesis examines cycling on four issues:- Why is there a need of more cyclists? - How can the total number of cyclists as well as the number of satisfied cyclists increase? - Which factors affect the choice of transport mode? - Which factors affect the choice of route?The first two questions are discussed from a literature study that was conducted at the beginning of the thesis.

The essay is a discourse analysis of the media's attitudes toward computing. The aim is to compare what the media is really saying about the usage of tablets, computers and compare it to what the research is saying. In addition, it examines what the media says about socialization. We analyze the newspapers Dagens Nyheter and Expressen and will first compare these two together and see what attitudes that emerge, and then seek similarities and differences with the previous research and theories including socialization learning, attitudes and Consumption. Conclusions we can draw is that Expressen has a more negative attitude towards the use of computers while the Dagens Nyheter has a more positive attitude, but is also more objective to what they write about.

The present climate discussion has made energy efficiency an interesting topic. Saving energy does not only help the climate but also saves money for the energy consumer. The purpose of this thesis was to examine the potential of heat recovering from milk cooling. Two milk farms, one with voluntary milking system, VMS, and the other with conventional milking system was used to measure interesting temperatures and electricity Consumptions. The numbers were used both to do theoretical calculations and to construct a SIMULINK model. To calculate the potential for heat at milk farms theoretical calculations were made in MATLAB using a reference farm with different combinations of heat recovery and pre cooling. The farm was assumed to keep a dwelling house with the annual heat Consumption 18165 kWh.

Energimyndigheten har drivit ett projekt kallat ?Förbättrad energistatistik i bebyggelsen? för att få mer kunskap om energianvändningen i byggnader.  Denna rapport fokuserar på ?Mätning av hushållsel på apparatnivå? som var ett delprojekt.Diverse regressionsmodeller används i denna rapport för att undersöka sambandet mellan elanvändningen och de olika förklarande variablerna, som exempelvis hushållens bakgrundsvariabler, hushållstyp och geografiska läge, elförbrukningen av olika elapparater samt antalet elapparater.Datamaterialet innefattar 389 hushåll där de flesta är spridda runt om i Mälardalen. Ett fåtal mätningar gjordes på hushåll i Kiruna och Malmö.Slutsatsen vi kan dra från denna uppsats är att hushållens bakgrund, hustyp, geografiska läge och antal elapparater samt dessa apparaters typ har relevans för elförbrukningen i ett hushåll..

The marketing strategies discussed in today?s literature are often developed for larger compa-nies and are therefore poorly fitted for smaller businesses with little resources, such as the small resort Enaforsholm Fjällgård in Jämtland. Hence, this paper focuses on presenting and discussing the marketing strategy storytelling and whether it is applicable to Enaforsholm Fjällgård. This mountain resort was given to the Royal Swedish Academy of Agriculture and Forestry (KSLA) in 1937 as a trust fund to be managed in the spirit of the grantor A.W. Bergsten.

 The luxury market has steadily grown from the industrial revolution and onwards. Changes in society, trends and the increased living standards has enabled more people to consume luxury goods.The world is going through a major economic crisis at the moment. Studies shows that companies that have focused on added value rather than lowering prices has survived past financial crisis. It is also obvious that companies act very different during times of crisis. Adding to the problem is trends that point to a more careful Consumption and environmental awareness.

Uppsatsen beskriver arbetet och undersökning för hur deduplicering i filsystemet ZFS påverkar effektförbrukningen. En större mängd redundant data förekommer i centraliserade lagringssystem som förser virtualiserade servrar med lagringsutrymme. Deduplicering kan för den typen av lagringsmiljö eliminera redundant data och ger en stor besparing av lagringsutrymme. Frågan som undersökningen avsåg att besvara var hur ett lagringssystem påverkas av det extra arbete som det innebär att deduplicera data i realtid.Metoden för att undersöka problemet var att utföra fem experiment med olika typer av scenarion. Varje scenario innebar att filer kopierades till ett lagringssystem med eller utan deduplicering för att senare kunna analysera skillnaden.

This thesis examines different methods for the cooling of data centers. Several means of cooling with the refrigeration cycle have been studied, as well as the feasibility of using free cooling in different parts of Sweden. In addition, the possibilities of transferring excess heat to a nearby district heating system were investigated. It was found that in all investigated cases except two, the data center could be cooled solely with free cooling for at least 300 days a year when only the outside air temperature was considered as a constraining factor. The limit was then set to 20 °C.The vast majority of all district heating systems in Sweden get little to none of their heat from other excess heat sources.

This master thesis takes its point of departure in the conflicting worldviews of modernism and post-modernism. As traditional segmentation theory springs from the modernist worldview, this study aims to contribute to the understanding of the complexity regarding market segmentation for lifestyle brands in contemporary society, where the consumer is often claimed to be post-modern. The research was conducted in Malmö and Lund and involved 25 Converse users as respondents. The methods used in this thesis starts with observations as a sampling technique in order to locate the respondents. Short interviews and photo documentation followed.

Denna studie avser att ta reda på om någon förändrad effekt kan fås gällande bränsleförbrukning och emissioner då dieselolja strömmar igenom ett magnetiskt fält innan det förbränns i en dieselmotor som driver en generator. Utrustningen som ger upphov till magnetfältet har tillhandahållits av ett kommersiellt företag. Studien består av två delar, en teoretisk del och en praktisk del. I den teoretiska delen presenteras tidigare vetenskapliga studier inom ämnet samt hur tillverkaren av utrustningen menar att tekniken fungerar. I den praktiska delen har tester gällande rökgasemissioner och bränsleförbrukning gjorts.

En miljon människor i Sverige dricker för mycket alkohol vilket kan leda till försämrad hälsa, sjukdom och skador. Sjuksköterskor möter patienter i olika omvårdnadssituationer inom hälso- och sjukvården. Syftet med denna studie var att belysa vad som underlättar och vad som hindrar sjuksköterskor att ställa frågor om alkoholkonsumtion i möten med patienten. Litteraturstudien baserades på 10 artiklar funna via de två databaserna Cinahl och PubMed. Artiklarna har granskats och analyserats och i resultatet framkom tre kategorier vilka har huvudtema och undertema.

Sweden is dependent on secure sea transport. Shorter disruption of imports of fuel and crude oil can be managed with an emergency stock, but a prolonged halt in imports creates problems. For industry, the vulnerability is greater. Fragmented production chains in combination with expenditure reductions in inventory causes a dependency on proper transport of intermediate goods in the manufacturing industry. A lengthy disruption thus involves disruption of production for both domestic Consumption and for export goods containing imported parts.In order to secure shipping routes with a limited number of vessels, Mine Counter Measures (MCM) capacity is required, and according to the Armed Forces, developed with new sensors and autonomous vehicles.

The aim of the study was to compare productivity in first thinning of birch stands, when either energy- or pulpwood was harvested. The systems total profitability was also compared by including forwarding and chipping costs. A Gremo 950 HPVR harvester was used and the same driver was used under the entire study. During the pulpwood harvest a Logmax 4000b harvester head was used and a feller buncher head made by Silvatec was used during the energy wood harvest. Six study unit pairs were located in a birch dominated stand outside Ängelholm in Skåne.

The objective of this work was to introduce measures to reduce energy and water demand at Gävle Söder 17:10. To succeed, this energy audit has been made. The work is based on collected statistics from the property owner Norrporten, measurements, literature review and through consultation with experts in the field. Two models, one for each building, have been created in the simulation program BV2 to estimate the potential of energy measures based on the collected information. The models in BV2 have been verified against the statistics of the energy Consumption.With the help of calculations and simulations, seven cost-effective measures have been identified.
