Riskbedömning och riskhantering i samband med vägbyggen
The aim with this thesis is to investigate the risk management at the department Road construction, The National Road Administration Region Mälardalen. The aim is also to study how the risk management could be improved to better support the project leaders. Included in theses aims is to examine potential problems with the current risk management and to suggest changes. It is of utter importance to define the concept of risk, to study how risk can be measured and in which ways risk can be analyzed. In doing so, a literary study has be done and fourteen respondents has been interviewed.Risk is to be seen more as a concept than a quantity.
Implementering av ett magnetlager
Magnetlager bygger på att med magnetisk kraft få rotorn att sväva så att den aldrig kommer i kontakt med statorn. Minimalt slitage och oberoende av smörjmedel hör till de största fördelarna med magnetlager. Marcus Granström har i ett pågående examensarbete visat att det är teoretiskt möjligt att bygga ett magnetlager. Marcus Granström har tagit fram en Simulinkmodell över processen inklusive regulator. Vidare finns flera olika tänkbara regulatorer föreslagna.Detta examensarbete är en fortsättning på Marcus Granströms examensarbete och utgår från de modeller som tagits fram.

Technical consulting companies are together with the rest of the actors in the construction business constantly depended on the current economic situation on the market. How to adapt the organisation depends on the current situation on the market.To adapt the organization in the best way possible the companies need to recruit and educate personal. It is then very important to find a solution on how the current change of generation in the companies will be handled. The large and very much competent group of 40-talists will in a few years retire.
Styrning av flotationen i Aitikgruvan
I den här rapporten beskrivs utförande och resultat vid ett försök att öka automationen av flotationen i anrikningsverket i koppargruvan i Aitik utanför Gällivare. Anrikningsverkets syfte är att skilja värdemineralerna, d.v.s. främst mineraler innehållande koppar men även guld och silver, från resten av mineralerna i malmen. Flotationen kan delas in flera mindre delar. En av dessa kallas samflotationen och kan i sin tur delas in i råflotationen och scavengerflotationen.

Analys av turbulensmodeller för CFD
This thesis has been a part of Forsmarks Kraftgrupp AB's evaluation of a turbulencemodel used in simulation of turbulent flow called PRNS (Partially Resolved NumericalSimulation). This model has promising properties and may be of use in savingcomputational resources. The purpose of this thesis was to analyze this model andcompare it with industrially applied models such as k-omega SST and LES (Large EddySimulations).PRNS works as a hybrid of the k-omega SST and DNS (Direct Numerical Simulation)where a constant, RCP (Resolution Control Parameter) with a value between 0 and 1are selected. This constant is then used in the calculations and determines thebehavior of the simulation. When RCP is set to zero the equation are the same as fora DNS simulation and when RCP is set to one the equations for k-omega SST issolved.

Denna rapport studerar identifiering och reglering med en extra armsensor ? accelerometer ? på en flexibel industrirobot. Studien har skett både simulerat och experimentellt på en industrirobot.Vid identifiering med accelerometer befinner sig accelerometern i ett roterande koordinatsystem. Denna rapport presenterar en kompenseringsalgoritm för att transformera signalerna från det roterande koordinatsystemet till ett rumsfast koordinatsystem.I denna rapport presenteras regulatorstrukturerna I-PID, II^2-PID och LQG, vilka alla återkopplar motorvinkel och armvinkelacceleration.

Design av PID-regulator baserad på kommersiell processormodul
The idea to develop a platform for a PID-controller came from the need to control the temperature in an espresso machine in a more exact way than a thermostat could perform. In discussions with Syntronic AB the idea developed into PID-control for industrial use. Syntronic AB suggested that the platform should be based on a commercially available processor module to shorten the development time. The suggestion included the use of the microcomputer Raspberry Pi, which supports USB, HDMI, memory card and Ethernet.The work began with establishing a schedule for the 10 weeks of the projects duration, and after that a system specification listing all functions, implementation and limitations was made. When the foundation of the system specification was done, a preliminary system design took shape.Because of the Raspberry Pi´s lack of Analog-to-Digital converter, a circuit board containing Wheatstone bridges, differential amplifiers and a two channel Analog-to-Digital converter was fabricated.

In the current situation is the straight tube cutter, that provides Luvata?s line of large recoolers with copper tubes, manually operated. To prevent damages and facilitate mounting the tubes must be properly arranged when they leave the machine. This report aims to investigate and present an automated solution where the operator does not need to participate in the process. A number of theories have been drawn up and tests have been done.
Implementering av Constant Fraction Detection vid avståndsmätning
This thesis is performed at Saab Bofors Dynamics in Karlskoga and investigates a technique for ranging with laser pulses. The investigated technique is called Constant Fraction Detection (CFD). Described briefly, the received laser pulse is split into two equal parts, where one part is delayed half the pulse width and inverted. This signal is added to the original pulse. The resulting curve has the shape of a laying S and the detection of the zero level is used to stop the time measurement.
Automatisk segelinställning hos en segelbåt
Syftet med detta examensarbetet är att ta fram en modell av ett segelinställande system hos en segelbåt. Detta för att ställa in storseglet hos båten per automatik. Anledningen till ett segelinställande system kan vara att man vill hålla nere vikten hos båten då manskap väger mer än systemet. Andra aspekter är att personer med segelbåtar som saknar kunskaper, eller tycker det är besvärligt att ställa in seglen vid turer med båten, kan använda systemet för att underlätta seglingen. Man undviker då att använda motorn på segelbåten och kan då spara bränslekostnader.Segelinställningen görs genom att en sensor mäter varifrån vinden blåser i förhållande till skrovet, samt efter vilken hastighet vinden har.
Acceptansgränsen för solceller i lågspänningsnät : Kan den ökas?
Microproduction, also called distributed generation, is something that has become more and more popular in the electric grid. Microproduction can however lead to unacceptable performance if several units are installed in the same low voltage network. It is therefore good to know a limit where the performance of the low voltage network becomes unacceptable based on given parameters. This limit is usually called hosting capacity.In this report the hosting capacity with respect to voltage and current have been studied in three low voltage networks which are located in Falu Elnäts concession area. This has been done by simulations in a GIS-program where critical times of the grid have been simulated.
Vakuumbrytare i småskaliga vattenkraftstationer
This master thesis has been performed at Vattenfall Power Consultant in Gothenburg and Trollhättan for Vattenfall Vattenkraft. In this report vacuum circuit breaker in small-scale hydropower stations with the rated power 4 MVA and below has been studied. Models of the stations are modeled and analyzed in PSCAD/EMTDC to study the high voltage transients that are created after current chopping with vacuum circuit breaker. Vacuum circuit breaker may chop the current before it reaches zero value, which means that high voltage transients can be created. The equipment of the stations can be destroyed by high voltage transients.The purpose of this thesis is to examine the use of vacuum circuit breaker in small-scale hydropower stations and the risk for high voltage transients from current chopping.According to the results there is a risk of high voltage transients after current chopping with small synchronous generators in stations with the operating voltages 0.4 kV and 3.6 kV.
Reglering av matarsystem vid höghastighetskapning
Today small metal parts are mass-produced as for example rollers in cylinder bearings. At high velocity cutting the metal is cut with a great force in a scissor-like device. Both precision and repeatability is important to be able to guarantee good quality, but from an economical point of view it is also important to keep a great manufacturing capacity. The part of the process that is most time consuming is when the metal bar, that is about to be cut, is fed to the right position. Therefore it is interesting to examine if the time used for positioning can be reduced.
