BACKGROUND: Today?s societal changes, including high rate of change and increasing information flows, are increasing the demand on the individual mental capacity. It becomes increasingly difficult to analytically process all the different dilemmas and everyday decisions as individuals have a limited mental capacity available to make these decisions. Thus, it has been suggested that ego-depleted relies more heavily on intuition, which is less burdensome, when making decision. However little is known about to what extent intuitive decisions differ from analytic.

As we travel more and more by train it becomes increasingly important that the time we spend traveling, is of great quality. This has been the foundation of this master thesis and has shaped the outcome of it. The traveling experience, that is, the experience of the landscape that flashes by outside the train window, is an important aspect in railway planning and an aspect that should be taken into greater consideration. The purpose of this master thesis has been to examine how to compose or improve the travel experience for an already planned high speed railway and how the travel experience can be combined with other aspects, which have claims on the landscape. This thesis is based on a literature study and a case study of Ostlänken. The work describes Ostlänken, a planned high speed railway in Sweden between Järna and Linköping, with top speeds at 300-320 kilometers per hour.

Statistik visar att fem procent av alla sjukskrivna i Sverige är lärare. Sjukskrivningar orsakade av den arbetsrelaterade ohälsan har under senare år alltmer även kommit att förknippas med psykosociala faktorer. Syftet med studien är tvådelat. Vi ville för det första undersöka hur grundskollärare anser att den psykosociala arbetsmiljön påverkar deras hälsa. För det andra ville vi undersöka om lärarna anser att lärarutbildningen har bidragit till deras förmåga att hantera den psykosociala arbetsmiljön eller om hälsofrämjande insatser behövs.

Cumulative effects are seldom treated in Swedish Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA). This report treats these questions and which procedures and methods that can be used when assessing cumulative effects in EIA. This report is a literature study where also a case study is a part. The case study shows how existing methods for cumulative effects can be used in practice. The report is concentrated on biology and treats cumulative effects on premises of biodiversity and roads. Cumulative effects include both direct and indirect effects.

Since the early 1940s in Sweden, subsidies have been a recurring feature in housing politics.Throughout history, these have been used as a management measure to control theconstruction of housing and to promote the Swedish welfare state. The political parties aretoday disagreeing on how much responsibility the state should carry for citizens housing. Tosolve the Conflict, the dwelling has to be defined. Is the dwelling to be considered a socialright, like education and healthcare or is the dwelling to be considered a product for the freemarket, driven by supply and demand?The positive population growth in Stockholm has lead to an increased demand for dwellings.The supply of dwellings has not been growing at the same rate, which has implied higherhousing prices and longer wait for rented apartments.

Whiplash is a bodily injury, where the person that is injured is subjected to force towards the neck, mainly in traffic accidents. Even low speed accidents can cause severe damage due to the complicated muscle and nerve structure of the neck. Symptoms range from neck aches and headaches to numb fingers and this makes the Whiplash injury difficult to diagnose. Whiplash is also a treacherous injury due to the fact that the symptoms can not be objectively verified. The principal symptom of the injury is pain, which is to its nature highly subjective.

Syftet med den här uppsatsen är att belysa hur konflikten mellan separerade föräldrar påverkar den enskilda förälderns föräldraskap och vilka följderna blir för barnen. Vi har också velat ta del av separerade föräldrars erfarenheter av den hjälp som erbjudits dem och barnen i samband med föräldrakonflikten, för att få idéer till utveckling i arbetet med att stödja föräldrar och barn då föräldrarna är i konflikt.Vi har valt att göra en kvalitativ studie där vi intervjuat nio föräldrar. Urvalskriterierna var att de deltagit i samarbetssamtal eller medverkat i vårdnads, boende, och/eller umgängesutredning. För att få svar på hur konflikten påverkat det vardagliga föräldraskapet var kriteriet även att barnen skulle bo till minst hälften av tiden hos den förälder vi intervjuade.Den familjerättsliga lagstiftningen och dess förarbeten kan ses som en ram som styr barns och föräldrars rättigheter och som styr föräldrars skyldigheter i förhållande till sina barn. Det är också inom den ramen vi befunnit oss då vi analyserat den hjälp föräldrar och barn fått i samband med konflikten.

The purpose of this study was to examine the goals, possibilities and rationales that could be found in the discussions concerning the digging of ditches by governmental subsidiaries in order to drain the peat bogs of late nineteenth century Sweden. A further aim was to look at the effect on the landscape on a local level i.e. Släthults moss in Bäckaby parish, Småland in the south eastern part of Sweden. In order to be able to explain the connections between politics and landscape changes in a local population and its deciding bodies, influenced by ideas, science and production, a quadruple helix model developed from a triple helix model by Björn-Ola Linér was used. As a model of environmental history, three step thought was used, borrowed from Donald Worster.

This essay intervenes in the politics of urban segregation in Stockholm. The main aim of the essay is to analyze and describe how advanced marginality and territorial stigmatization are expressed in the lived experiences of four unemployed youths, that have participated in a labor market training program located in the ?social vulnerable? area Rågsved. With a theoretical framework based in Henri Lefebvre?s production of social space the empirical findings are interpreted in regard to how the youths produce social space in dialectical interplay with urban politics, advanced marginality, territorial stigmatization, and their local neighborhood.

Leopard (Panthera pardus) räknas som ett av de fem stora kattdjuren inom släktet Panthera, och är den art av de vilda kattdjuren som har störst geografisk spridning i världen. Med avstånd som sträcker sig från Afrika i väst och delar av Ryssland i öst, är det inte så konstigt att flera skilda underarter uppstått. Som helhet är arten leopard klassad som nära hotad av IUCN, International Union for Conservation of Nature, men flera av dess nio underarter är starkt eller akut hotade. Genom litteraturstudier och statusrapporter från IUCN ges i denna undersökning en kort sammanfattning av hur distributionen av leopardens underarter ser ut i världen, samt vad som utgör deras största hot mot en fortsatt överlevnad. Generellt sett har leoparden många egenskaper som talar för en positiv framtid.

Ethical evaluation of scientific studies carried out using animals is legally mandated in many countries and has been so in Sweden for over three decades. The animal ethics committees (AECs) responsible for the task have however been subjected to criticism; common critique being that the wrong issues are discussed and that the ethical evaluation is thus incomplete, that there is a lack of coherence across committees and that the committees are not as democratic as they might appear. This study investigates the view of Swedish AEC members on a number of issues in order to shed some light on the mandate and functioning of the committees, and on the grounds for ongoing criticism. In a survey and interviews AEC members and other persons connected to the committees gave their views on the AEC task in relation to their roles, the ethical evaluation per se and whether or not emotions such as empathy play any part in it. There were significant differences found between AEC member categories and several issues were encountered, many of which have been stressed in previous studies.

Regionalisation has become an increasingly important phenomenon in a globalized world. As models of regional integration, the European Union (EU) and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) are two prominent examples. This thesis seeks to explore through a comparative analysis, the different mechanisms and institutions for handling breaches against fundamental values within the two regional organizations. Inter-linked with the issue of the legal-institutional framework is that of what values the mechanisms are designed to protect. The method used for the analysis is first and foremost that of public international and European law, but the thesis also attempts to give a broader picture of the issues presented.

Today we have more game species than ever before in our landscape, both regarding number of species and number of individuals. The increasing number of wild species is an increase in game recourse for the countryside. The increase of game species, however, has negative effects on forests and agriculture land. The negative effects for forestry are damages on economic important trees, due to losses in production and quality. However there are ways to decrease the damage on valuable and important trees.

The first two weeks in a pup's life is called the neonatal period. This period is dominated by growth and development of organs and senses. The puppy is born blind and deaf and the physiological disability makes it unable to move properly. The neonatal period is characterized by a lot of sleeping. The pup receives the important milk and warmth from the bitch.

SammanfattningVad är en transformation, och vad den kan vara? Hur kan en strategi för hur man kan förhålla sig till transformationsprojekt se ut?Jag har definierat det som att en transformation handlar om att ta en befintlig byggnad och införa ett nytt program som skapar en ny verklighet.Det kan finnas flera anledningar till att göra en transformation istället för att bygga nytt. Den viktigaste anledningen som jag har valt att arbeta med handlar om att fånga upp de värden som finns i en byggnad och få med sig dem och bygga vidare på dem istället för att skapa helt andra värden. Värden är saker som yta, volym, rumshöjd, ljusförhållanden, material och detaljer. Det är saker som de gjutna betongtrapporna och de speciella fönsterpartierna i byggnaden.
