Using Varshney's theory about intra- and interethnic networks, this thesis examines how civil society in southern Thailand is built up.During 2004 the violence between Muslims and Buddhists rose in southern Thailand. The government tried to fight the insurgency using violent police and military forces, resulting in hundreds of deaths and part of reason why Thailand is loosing rank in Freedom House's democracy index. Varshney means that a civil society built up on intraethnic networks works favourable to violence between different ethnic groups. Sorting out and defining what is meant by ?ethnic? and ?civil society?, this thesis shows why to look at the insurgency in southern Thailand as an ethnic conflict surviving partly because of an intraethnic civil society.

Survey's purpose is to illustrate why and how the process happened when Piteå relocated its commercial port away from Skuthamn to the new construction on Haraholmen 1950-1973. How decision-makers worked to achieve their goals, how the work changed and what incentives motivated them to act. The results showed that the decision was taken not to retain the existing commercial port in large part due to Skuthamns physics attributes, which made it impossible to ship large deep vessels from there. The reason that the decision about the port took such a long time was due to a local political conflict which was based on interest in the ownership of Haraholmen. The reason for the location of the trading port became Haraholmen had political backgrounds.

Det finns många faktorer som påverkar hur svårlöst en konflikt är. Vi undersöker en av dem, nämligen skuggnätverken, genom att titta på kausalsambandet mellan skuggnätverk och staters olika uppbyggnadsprocesser. Begreppet skuggnätverk är en adaption av Nordstroms ?shadows? ? det vill säga ekonomiska och politiska länkar som på både lokal och internationell nivå rör sig utanför de statliga direktiven. Genom att studera skuggnätverkens utbredning i fyra afrikanska länder: Sydafrika, Kongo, Angola och Sierra Leone, ser vi de effekter som de har haft på de ekonomiska, politiska och sociala områdena i respektive länder.

Swedish Armed Forces are according to their development planning process taking actions to establish a new joint unit (SWEWOSE), with electronic warfare capability. SWEWOSÉ S main task will be designated to produce electronic warfare libraries for electronic warfare systems within the armed forces. The unit shall have capability to support with libraries in any state of conflict situation even if the supported unit with library needs conducting operations abroad.This essay examines the requirements that justify the establishment of a new unit in times when the armed forces conducting reorganizations and cutbacks in both economy and personnel.The possibilities to buy complete system solutions from an external supplier are examined. This essay contains a comparative analysis of Erik Olin Wrights Marxist class analysis and Michael Hardt and Antonio Negris post-Marxist class analysis as presented in their books ?Empire? and ?Multitude: War and democracy in the age of Empire?. I discuss the shift in analytical focus from state level to global level that Hardt and Negri's analysis represent and the ensuing relevance of this for contemporary class analysis. The study's starting point is the cultural, economic, social and health which is relevant when different levels of society affirms. The aim has been the basis of the representation levels of society discern what is valued and given priority as well as the measures and the strategies used in implementation. The empirical data underlying the study is qualitative studies with respondents from a university, a hospital, a school, the Swedish Embassy and an organization in order to create an image of different levels in society means to implement preventive measures on HIV and AIDS to their citizens. The result demonstrates that there are clear shortcomings in its implementation guidance on prevention measures for HIV and AIDS as lack of resources is based.

The aim of this study about wind power planning in forest was to examine the factors and restrictions, which represent technical limitations, biodiversity, tourism and amount of energy for wind farms in Kronoberg County. Suitable areas for wind power were identified from the collected information about planning principles and potential conflicts. From the suitable areas the potential energy gain is calculated. Methods used were mainly a literature review, interviews with experts and practitioners, GIS analysis and a rough calculation of the energy gain. The section of information and facts describes in general wind power planning and possible conflicts.

I olika perioder har ämnet våld inom psykiatrin lyfts fram i media, ofta i samband med att ett våldsdåd har begåtts av en ?våldsam psykpatient?. Varken i media eller i den tidigare forskningen är det vanligt att ämnet blir belyst ur ett patientperspektiv. Denna kvalitativa studie försöker fånga ett inifrån-perspektiv och tar sin ansats i att försöka beskriva vad som kan leda fram till att det uppstår konflikt- och våldssituationer på en sluten psykiatrisk avdelning. Studien har genomförts med hjälp av samtal med sju personer med erfarenhet av våld under sin vistelse på en sluten avdelning.

Vår sociologiska studie är baserad på intervjuer och en enkätundersökning. Vårt syfte är att öka allmänhetens förståelse för arbetsförmedlares yrkessituation. Vi intervjuade både arbetsförmedlare och arbetssökande med utgångspunkt att undersöka hur relationen dem emellan påverkas av lagar och regler. Vi har använt oss av kvalitativ metod då det är en förutsättning för att besvara vår problemformulering. Vi har även ett kvantitativt inslag i form av enkäter för att få bredd och generaliserbarhet. Vi har analyserat vårt resultat utifrån sociologiska teorier.

By interviewing 10 people in leadership positions from various companies and      countries, this thesis had as main objective to find out how the view the of what environment promotes the intrapreneur to make the organizations more competitive and successful. By transcribing and interpreting the interviews, we have found the keywords that could answer our research question. Our method has been based on a qualitative approach with an inductive direction. The leadership has been shown to have a significant role in terms of company culture and the intrapreneurs ability to contribute to the development of the organizations. The culture is essential.

Internal marketing has been proposed as a means of gaining competetive edge in a market where service quality is an important precursor to performance. Still, the practical application of internal marketing remains relatively limited, which is hypothesized to be partly attributable to a widespread lack of the required philosophy which facilitates the effective implementation of internal marketing. The concept of internal market orientation (IMO) has been proposed as an accurate representation of this philosophy. This thesis attemps to assess the relevance of an IMO in relation to the internal marketing activities of an organisation. The findings of the study imply that IMO related activities impacts the effectiveness of internal marketing and that it thus provides a valuable tool in the process of implementing internal marketing strategies..

The topic for this essay is tutoring for nurses. The study is about nurses who work in a nursing home for the elderly and who want to get tutoring and more education. Qualitative method was used and twelve nurses who worked in a nursing home were interviewed. The interviews were taped and written down.
