This project includes development of new packaging for dry spices and an investigation of how to automate the production line. The preliminary investigations show needs of an environmental friendly packaging possible to re-close. After screening for suitable materials three concepts were developed, a stand-up pouch, a plastic jar and a metal can. The pouch was excluded in a concept choosing process. In this process it was also decided to further develop the metal can concept.

Background: The women who were called in for further examinations after a breast screening had all their examinations and test during one day. This organization has been conducted since 1993 in this clinic, but has not previously been evaluated. Aim: The aim of this study was to investigate the patients? experiences of the organization, in a radiologic breastcancer clinic, where all the examinations and the test-results were given at the same day. Method: An empirical quantitative study was performed.

ABSTRACTBackgroundPostpartum depression (PPD) occurs in 10% of women who have recently given birth. Postpartum depression is treatable but unidentified and untreated it could lead to serious consequences. There are multiple instruments for screening available. The Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale is the most frequently used and is regarded as the best instrument. AimThe aim of this study was to analyze to what extent and how midwifes and primary care nurses identify mothers with symptoms of depression respectively PPD.

Human Papilloma virus (HPV) can lead to cervical cancer, a common form of cancer in Sweden and globally. A vaccine has been developed for the most carcinogenic strains of HPV. In Sweden it is planned that the vaccine be included in the public national vaccination program for children. The aim of this study was to illustrate attitudes towards future sexual habits and preventive cervical cancer screening among young women and parents of girls vaccinated against HPV. This study is a part of a larger project where interviews with young women aged 17 to 26 years and parents of girls aged 13 to 17 years compose the foundation.

In many products a compromise between ground clearance and the required space to store the product has to be made. This problem attracted the attention of the authors of this thesis.The objective of this project is to develop a functioning solution to a foldable wheel. The solution should be applicable to several types of product groups. A limitation for this work has been made so that the work only covers solutions for lighter vehicles.The purpose is to drive this project forward, so that a solution can be found. Furthermore the purpose of the report is to clarify how the authors proceeded to design and construct the wheel according to a fixed specification.

In Sweden, detailed development plans (DDPs) go through a screening process to decide whether their implementation could cause significant environmental impact or not. The criteria in the legislation were studied to see if an environmental impact assessment was needed. This study also investigated 26 DDPs from 12 out of 13 of the municipalities in Östergötland and how they meet up to the demands in relevant legislation, for example the rules for Environmental Impact Assessments. Plans that concerned suburban communities and new housing were selected. The environmental issues highlighted in the plan documents were compared to selected topics from the GIS data base 'Östgötakartan' to see if the assessments made by the municipalities were reasonable judged.

SAMMANFATTNINGSyftet med studien var att studera hur sjuksköterskan inom intensivvård använder NuDesc(The Nursing Delirium Screening Scale) och om de anser sig ha tillräcklig kunskap för attbedöma delirium med hjälp av NuDesc.Studien är en kvantitativ tvärsnittsstudie med datainsamling via en enkät som konstrueratsspeciellt för denna studie. Enkäten besvarades av 15 intensivvårdssjuksköterskor på ettuniversitetssjukhus i Mellansverige.Resultatet visade att bedöma delirium på en intensivvårdsavdelning uppfattas avrespondenterna som ganska svårt även om de tycker sig ha tillräckligt med kompetens attanvända bedömningsinstrument NuDesc. Den psykomotoriska förlångsamningen tillsammansmed hallucinationer/ illusioner uppfattas av sjuksköterskorna som svårast att bedöma..

Normalt åldrande innebär förändringar hos individen som kan påverka tal, språk och sväljning. Ökad känslighet för inre och yttre påverkan hos den åldrande individen samt sjukdomsbild kan skapa problematik, vilken kan ge upphov till svårigheter med tal, språk och/eller sväljning, som i sin tur påverkar den upplevda livskvaliteten. Geriatriska patienter karaktäriseras av nedsatt funktionsnivå och kroniska sjukdomar, därför ställs krav på specialkompetens för vård och rehabilitering av dessa patienter.Syftet med föreliggande studie var att genom screening undersöka förekomst av tal-, språk- och sväljsvårigheter på geriatriska avdelningar i två städer i södra Sverige. Därtill undersöktes även orofacial påverkan och hälsorelaterad livskvalitet. Totalt 42 patienter från geriatriska avdelningar med inriktningarna allmängeriatrik, strokerehabilitering och ortopedi deltog.

Is it possible to conduct a joint organizational change despite different circumstances and different starting points, and still talk about the same organizational change? Can all the work that leads to more efficient operations fall into the same category? How can such concept gain legitimacy? The result shows that by talking about a concept, in this case, Lean, as something that leads to a better and more efficient organization, without for that matter have to set a defined content of the concept you still can present the process as one concept. Tough the concept will be practically blank. But there is still a rhetorical value in the concept of Lean. The organization institutionalizes the concept and obtains in this way legitimacy from its surroundings.

Denna uppsats undersöker om prostatacancerscreening är kostnadseffektivt och speciellt studeras patientens oroskänsla vid screeningen. Till grund för uppsatsen ligger ett antal tidigare studier i ämnet och de för frågeställningen viktigaste slutsatserna från dessa belyses. Slutsatsen är att det inte, med säkerhet, går att motivera införandet av allmän prostatacancerscreening. Beroende på antaganden varierar resultaten mellan $8,400 och $145,600 per ytterligare levnadsår, angivet i 1995 års pris. Vidare saknas det fortfarande resultat från stora randomiserade studier som klart visar att screening sänker dödligheten i prostatacancer.

ECG-Screening for young elite athletesAbstractBackgroundSudden cardiac death (SCD) during physical activity is a frightening and emotional tragedy that draws huge media attentions when it occurs. Fortunately it is a relatively uncommon occurrence but happens nonetheless to young athletes who often seems to be in perfect health. SCD is used as a term for sudden unexpected complications on the cardiovascular system that leads to a deadly outcome normally within the first hour of onset of symptoms and the cause is some sort of underlying cardiovascular disease that gets triggered by physical activity.Normally athletes gets divided into two groups dependent on age, over and under 35 years, and this studies focus is on the younger group since it is often during this period athletes are at the elite level. It is also in this category the most unexpected sudden deaths occur that is not due to coronary atherosclerosis, which is the dominant cause of death, and drastically increases, for people over 35 years old.AimThe aim of this study was to scientific and unbiased analyze peer-reviewed clinical articles todescribe the pros, cons and cost to implement an ECG-screening as a standard before physicalactivities for specifically defined elite athletes.MethodA systematic review was performed and after all data collection 21 articles was chosen to beused as a base for both background and analyze. At the end 10 articles was fulfilling the criteria to be used at the analyze and later the results.ResultsThe implementation of ECG-screening has reduced SCD in Italy by 89 % between the years 1979-2004.

This thesis was conducted at Linköping University and Saab Aerostructures DPS, Linköping, and focuses on the possibilities of flexible fixturing in machining applications. The thesis is part of the research project "Koofix", which is collaboration between Linköping University and a number of companies.The thesis is aimed towards small batch production which, for Saab Aerostructures DPS, means diverse part geometry and that parts are manufactured in very small numbers, sometimes just one piece. The result of this is that expensive dedicated fixtures are made for most parts. By introducing more flexible fixturing methods to this kind of production the cost of fixtures and tooling will be reduced, and make the production more efficient.New flexible fixturing methods has been presented and evaluated through the thesis, which has resulted in three different concepts. These concepts have been the result of literature screening and study of current manufacturing process at Saab Aerostructures DPS.

Bakgrund: Mot bakgrund av ett ökat antal fall med prostatacancer på ett företag erbjöds alla anställda män över 40 år av arbetsgivaren att genomföra en PSA-provtagning hos företagshälsovården i förebyggande syfte. Som företagsläkare är det otillfredsställande att ta beslut om åtgärder utifrån enbart provresultat utan annan information, varför man beslöt att göra en studie av dem som hade erbjudits PSA-prov.Syfte: PSA-screening är kontroversiellt även på global nivå. Syftet var att undersöka attityden till PSA-screening och speciellt klinisk undersökning vid provtagning, informationsnivån om PSA hos de tillfrågade samt eventuella samband mellan attityd/informationsnivå och besvär/ärftlig belastning.Undersökt grupp: 48 män, alla över 40 år - på samma arbetsplats, där man misstänkte ökat antal fall med prostatacancer som tidigare hade fått erbjudande om PSA-test och uttryckt sig positivt om att delta i studien. Härav besvarade 37 enkäten, vilket var den slutliga gruppen för undersökningen. Metod: En enkät med 29 frågor om information och allmän attityd till PSA-screening, eventuellt genomförd PSA-provtagning och/eller läkarundersökning samt eventuella vattenkastningsbesvär och hereditet för prostatacancer tillsändes undersökningsgruppen.Resultat: Drygt 2 år efter introduktionen av erbjudandet om PSA-screening för alla anställda på 40 år eller däröver, var en stor majoritet (89% enligt enkäten) fortsatt positiva till genomförandet av PSA-screening inom Företagshälsovården.

Hälso- och sjukvården erbjuder friska personer hälsoundersökningar i förebyggande syfte. I Sverige dör cirka 700 till 1000 personer årligen till följd av brusten bukaorta. Aneurysm ses hos cirka fem procent av män över 65 år och ger oftast inga symtom förrän de brister. Mindre aneurysm opereras inte utan följs med regelbundna kontroller och det kan upplevas obehagligt att bråcket kan öka i omfång eller brista utan förvarning. Upplevelsen av att delta i screening och diagnostiseras med ett aneurysm är inte tillräckligt undersökt och syftet med studien var därför att hos 65-åriga män som deltagit i screening, belysa upplevelsen av att leva med ett mindre bukaortaaneurysm som inte skall opereras.
