Places like nightclubs or pubs are frequently visited in order to find partners for love, sex and relationships. This study examins behavioral patterns and trends among young adults in these environments. A computer-based questionnaire has been implemented on entertainment establishments - two studentclubs, one youth club and three nightclubs - in Malmoe and Lund in southern Sweden. The emprical material contains at most 149 answers, and at least 109. Sex, love and relationships are less important than expected, but are still some of few big reasons for visiting nightclubs.

Kunskapen om TV- och datorspelmissbruk bland ungdomar är idag väldigt begränsad. Stillasittande/fysisk inaktivitet, som TV- och datorspel ofta innebär och som kan innebära negativa konsekvenser, blir allt vanligare. En semistrukturerad intervjustudie har genomförts på sju män i åldersgruppen 17-29 år i syfte att undersöka drivkrafterna bakom mäns spelbeteende i tonåren. Dessutom har information om spelmissbruk bland ungdomar inhämtats av fyra yrkesverksamma inom spelområdet. Detta samt kopplingar mellan TV- och datorspel och spel om pengar har gjorts p g a bristen på forskning om TV- och datorspel.

This Bachelor Thesis in the area of Computer Science and Work Science describes the process of design and development of an IT-tool between the municipality of Ron-neby and TietoEnator a development and consultancy firm, the Gothenburg office. The thesis focuses mainly on the cooperation between the consultant designer and the local municipal. Through cooperation, the organisation is incorporated into the tool and the tool is incorporated into the organisation. Concepts that are central in this thesis are design, cooperation and tailoring. A question raised is, if distance work and extensive cooperation might be a good way of working in the process of design and development, when the organisation is being incorporated into the tool. Advan-tages and disadvantages of this way of working are discussed. Our studies show that distance work is a good complement for personal meet-ings between designer and co-developer.

That increase the demand of security for all systems, both against internal and external threats. The demand on the authentication method used today increases. Today they normally uses password or some kind of smart card. The Internet has played an important role for libraries giving them a means of fulfilling their democratic mission of giving equal access to everyone, including people with disabilities. In order to achieve this it is of the utmost importance that they ensure that their web sites are accessible. In this masters thesis we have examined to what extent the web sites are accessible. The thesis is based on theories of human-computer interaction, information architecture, pedagogy and a checklist. The checklist is derived from established international guidelines from W3C, which has been adapted to, and is used by Swedish public authorities to achieve the mission of a ?24-hour authority?.

The euthropthication of the Baltic Sea is a threat that is beginning to be taken seriously by the governments concerned. In Sweden, regulations concerning the allowed nitrogen (N) concentration in the effluent water from wastewater treatment plants are being tightened up. The Rimbo wastewater treatment plant has been imposed to reduce the annual mean concentration of total N in the effluent water to levels below 15 mg l-1. A more and more common way to reduce the nitrogen level in wastewater is to let the water pass through a wetland. This study investigates the possibility to build this kind of wetland at the outlet of the Rimbo wastewater treatment plant.A prestudy of the topography, soil characteristics and groundwater flow indicates that the land area in question is well suited for the construction of a wetland.

Internationally most Internet trade related payments are performed with the use of a credit card based payment system on the Internet. Payment against invoice is still most common when trading over the Internet in Sweden. The security development, comfort and timesaving indicate that credit card based payment systems on the Internet soon will have a breakthrough in Sweden as well. The Swedish legislation concerning payment is neither especially extensive nor suited to electronic payments but to payments performed with notes and coins. Användandet av trådlösa nätverk ökar med rask takt och blir allt vanligare. Enligt en artikel i Computer Sweden kommer de trådlösa näten att ha 20 miljoner användare om 4 år. Analysföretaget Gartner Group har nyligen gjort en undersökning bland företag, vars syfte var att ta reda på hur stort intresset var för WLAN. Resultatet visade att 50% av företagen funderar på att köpa och installera WLAN-lösningar (Planet Wireless september 2001). Syftet med detta arbete var att beskriva hur den inbyggda krypteringsfunktionen WEP som för Wired Equivalent Privacy fungerar och hur säker den är, dvs hur lätt man kan knäcka krypteringen. Följande frågeställningar har besvarats genom litteraturstudier och ett praktiskt försök: Hur är trådlösa nät uppbyggda? Hur fungerar den inbyggda krypteringen WEP och hur säker är den? Vad kan man göra förutom att använda sig av WEP för att skydda sig mot avlyssning/intrång? Det praktiska försöket bestod av att knäcka WEP-krypterade filer med hjälp av programmet WEPCrack.

Vid objektorienterad systemutveckling är det viktigt att man genomför en analys- och designfas, dels för att man inom ett utvecklingsteam lättare ska kunna visualisera hur ett system är tänkt att bli och dels för att kunna fånga och åskådliggöra kundens krav. Till sin hjälp i dessa faser har man metoder/processer och modelleringsspråk. Varje företag har i regel haft sin egen variant av ovan nämnda, men allteftersom kom kravet på en gemensam standard att bli oundvikligt. Sedan ett antal år tillbaka finns nu en standard. Trots det finns det säkert företag kvar som ännu inte antagit denna standard.

Användandet, eller frånvaron, av öppen källkodsprogramvaror inom offentlig sektor är något som på senare tid har diskuterats flitigt både i artiklar och i internetanslutna diskussionsforum. Den offentliga sektorns behov av investeringar i nya IT-system kommer dessutom att öka i och med realiseringen av Statskontorets vision om 24-timmarsmyndigheten. Detta examensarbete undersöker hur välbekant begreppet öppen källkod är, vilka attityder som finns mot begreppet och hur stor utbredningen av öppen källkodsprogramvaror är hos Sveriges kommuner. Av resultatet framkommer att 60 % av alla IT-chefer och motsvarande i kommunerna känner till begreppet väl, att 80 % av alla tillfrågade upplever öppen källkod som något positivt och att drygt 30 % av alla kommuner redan använder någon form av programvara baserad på öppen källkod. De viktigaste fördelarna med öppen källkodsprogramvaror är den låga kostnaden, tillgången till all källkod och att man snabbt kan få del av andras förbättringar. I flera länder i både Europa och Asien, såväl som Sydamerika förekommer rekommendationer, eller åtminstone diskussioner, om hur öppen källkod bäst kan användas för att stödja den offentliga sektorn i respektive länder. This study examines the cultural place and status of video and computer games in the Swedish public library. Using works on popular culture and the theories of Pierre Bourdieu, this study employs quantitative methods, as well as textual analysis, to analyze the results of an online questionnaire with 19 questions focusing on selection criteria, shelf placement, perceived competence, as well as reasoning for having or not having these games in the library. 286 out of the 440 libraries contacted is participating in the study, and the libraries consist exclusively of public libraries in Sweden that are found in the database of the Royal Library.The results of this study show that a larger number of libraries than previously indicated have started to provide electronic games to their patrons. At the same time, patterns in the data and comments suggests that these games in many cases still do not enjoy the same level of cultural recognition as other media. Indicative of this is the way most libraries seem to focus on the medium being exclusively for their young patrons, with seem-ingly very little in the way of investment for adults.
