Today there is a shortage of skilled IT-technicians in Sweden. It is approximated that Swedish companies can hire 31 000 IT-technicians in 2015 and the need seems to increase in the coming years. One proposed solution to this problem is to make programming more desirable to youths. In this study we attempt to investigate the effects of an introductory course in computer science on youths? (16-17 years old) in a classroom setting.

This thesis describes new methods for automatic crack detection in pavements. Cracks in pavements can be used as an early indication for the need of reparation.Automatic crack detection is preferable compared to manual inventory; the repeatability can be better, the inventory can be done at a higher speed and can be done without interruption of the traffic.The automatic and semi-automatic crack detection systems that exist today use Image Analysis methods. There are today powerful methods available in the area of Computer Vision. These methods work in higher dimensions with greater complexity and generate measures of local signal properties, while Image Analyses methods for crack detection use morphological operations on binary images.Methods for digitalizing video data on VHS-cassettes and stitching images from nearby frames have been developed.Four methods for crack detection have been evaluated, and two of them have been used to form a crack detection and classification program implemented in the calculation program Matlab.One image set was used during the implementation and another image set was used for validation. The crack detection system did perform correct detection on 99.2 percent when analysing the images which were used during implementation.

This essay follows a Media Teacher in her work as a coordinator and an artistic leader for a European project called Legalopoli concerning laws and ethics in a senior level school for 13-16 year-olds in Mora, Sweden. The students write film stories about how their characters have to make choices in ethical dilemma situations. Then the learners create interactive computer games together through practical film work. At the same time we can see how the educator also gets into difficult ethical situations, when she is working with the students. This forces her to self-reflection.

Detta arbete handlar om antivirusprogram och vad det finns för hjälpmedel för hemanvändare utan teknisk bakgrund att finna det antivirusprogram som passar dem bäst. Målet med arbetet är att producera en guide för hemanvändare som ska hjälpa dem inför deras val av antivirusprogram. I detta arbete har tre olika metoder använts för att besvara de frågor och den hypotes som ställts. Först gjordes en litteraturstudie där bakgrundsmaterial inhämtades. Nästa steg var att genomföra intervjuer med experter inom området för att ta reda på vad guiden skulle innehålla. Som sista steg utfördes en enkätundersökning som riktade sig till hemanvändare för att ta reda på om den framtagna guiden besvarade hypotesen.

The main purpose of this bachelor thesis is to examine the existence of criteria and to what extent high school students use these criteria when they are collecting information for a school assignment. I also compare students attending different high school programmes with each other and compare students on different levels of education.I have done a quantitative study with 284 students in which the students have filled out questionnaires.The result shows that the most common way to evaluate information is to compare sources with each other. Students also look at how the information is written, and they want the information to be detailed and easily available. More seldom used criteria include consideration of the authority of the writer, determination of how up to date the information is, and gauging the perspective of the information.The result also shows that students attending a high school programme that prepares them for higher education are better at evaluating information than students attending a high school programme of vocational preparation. Students at a higher level of education are also better at evaluating information than students at a lower level of education. .

The main purpose of a Flight Data Recorder (FDR) is to facilitate the investigation of incidents. In order to interpret the data that has been recorded in the FDR the data has to be visualized in some way. This can be done with software on a computer or with hardware that is specific for the model of aircraft that the data originates from.The aim of this project is to visualize data for six parameters from the FDR of Saab 2000 in an avionics rig. The avionics rig resembles the cockpit of Saab 2000 and the displays in it are identical to the ones found in the plane. All six parameters are shown on the same display.Due to safety regulation vital systems in aircraft are doubled, with one system on the left side and one on the right.

It is with scholarship from these that this Website has been possible. The work whit the ?Art school? started in the autumn of 2005 and ended in May 2006 on distance from Stockholm towards Blekinge technology school in Karlshamn. The Webb place is for the general public, but most for people who have interest in art and for those how want to learn more painting in different mediums. Purpose The purpose of this study is to evaluate the treatment results and adverse drug effects for 14 dogs receiving a new paclitaxel preparat named Paccal vet. The evaluated dogs are chosen to enter a pharmacogenomical study. Therefore, this paper intends to give an introduction to pharmacogenomics. Finally this study also aims at finding the homologue genesequenses in dogs to seven genes that are important for metabolism of paclitaxel in humans. Materials and metods The dogs went through 2-4 cycles of paclitaxel treatment, they received a new water-soluble formula named Paccal vet, at dosages of 100-150mg/m2. Treatment results and adverse effects are listed for each dog in table 1.

This thesis work resulted in a template for how the thermal spray process can be controlled through robot programs. The robots today and their programs need to be replaced, therefore a new structure which can be matched with the new robot systems is needed. The work is limited to only concern structured programming on the new robots on Thermal Spray Centre (TC) with the programming language Rapid. The basic data for the program was retrieved from interviews with concerned personnel at TC, from studies on process parameters for thermal spray and from existing specifications at Volvo Aero Corporation (VAC). The thesis work briefly describes the process thermal spray and the four methods used at VAC.

Folkets Hus och Parker gav under våren 2008 en förfrågan om att under sommaren uppmäta den ljudtrycksdos en normal festivaldeltagare tillskansar sig under ett festivalbesök. De mätningar som genomfördes skedde på tre olika festivaler, Hultsfredsfestivalen, Peace & Love och Storsjöyran. Mätningarna skulle ske över hela festivalbesöket och inte endast innefatta mätningar av konserter, för att kunna ge en rättvisare bild av den ljudtrycksdos som en person kan tänkas utsättas för under en festival. De två av Socialstyrelsen uppsatta gränsvärdena som ska följas är att evenemanget ska hålla sig under ett medelvärde på max 100 dB(A)LEQ och dess toppvärde får vara högst 115 dB(A). I överlag kunde vi se att ljudnivåerna hölls relativt bra inom riktvärdena på de tre festivalerna.

Föreliggande kandidatarbete har till syfte att undersöka fenomenet Webskrapning. Webbskrapnings-program (också kända som Web Wanderers, Crawlers, Spiders eller skrapare) är program som söker igenom webben automatiskt för att extrahera information från webbsidor. Ett exempel på web skrapning är när ett företag samlar in data om prissättningar på en vara eller en tjänst och sen använder informationen för att producera billigare erbjudanden. Detta ger företaget en fördel så att de kan fokusera mera på att marknadsföra sin sida/tjänster. Utöver detta så blir de utsatta företagens servrar också hårt belastade med trafik (skrapning) från ?icke kunder?. Efter att ha genomsökt både akademiska och allmänna källor via informationsinsamling, av denna information så dras slutsatsen att man inte fullt ut kan hindra skrapning av hemsidor. Detta på samma sätt som man inte fullt ut kan hindra någon IT-attack, det finns inga 100 % vattentäta system.

A LED spectrometer has been constructed for qualitative spectrometry using certain wavelenghts. The LEDs and the photodiode are being controlled with a microcontroller that is connected to a computer to power the components and save data. The spectroanalysis made with the LED spectrometer were significantly different to a standard spectrometer, concluding that more analysis should be made until a final product is ready. Some areas of improvements are suggested. .

What measures should be taken for the organisation to reach a higher level of security for their systems??
