The purpose of this study is to evaluate an existing user interface. The company in question has a web-based user interface (available through logging in via their website), but they are interested in making the process of using the interface more convenient and the interface more accessible, so that users without a background in computing can properly manage the interface. At the same time they want to apply additional functionalities in order create and to manage increased traffic on the company?s website. For this reason it is important to take into account the issues involved in human-computer interaction (HCI) as well as aspects of cognitive psychology in order to make the tool and the web interface more usable, more motivational, and therefore more efficient and professional.

The aim of this thesis is to develop a truly useful sound quality simulator for the VHA-40. The system will help the sound engineers to position the loudspeakers for optimal sound by simulating loudspeaker configurations and visualizing the resulting sound quality and quantity. Computer based information systems play an important role in modern military combat vehicles. The crew needs to be able to quickly get information about both the vehicle and its outer surroundings in order to quickly make the correct decisions. In this report, we describe the development of a prototype new information system for the BvS10 vehicle, manufactured by BAE System Hägglunds AB in Örnsköldsvik.An important aspect of the system is the time it takes from the point that the information is generated by the vehicle sensors until it is presented to the user. The system must be able to ensure that it never displays information that is out of date. Thus, it is important to create a layer and component based architecture for the solution, making it possible to control, in detail, the information?s age as it moves through the system.

During the last decades the evolution of information technology and the increasing ability to access information have been discussed in many ways. In the beginning the focus was on the technology but now the discussion is more and more about the use of information and how to develop knowledge out of it. There is an ongoing discussion about the difference between knowledge and information. The subject of this Master s thesis is to find out if and how the Swedish elementary school has written into its mission statements to help the pupils to become information literate. For this purpose I have examined literature about information literacy and pedagogic as well as legislation and other documents that control how the Swedish elementary schools work.

Övervakningssystem har haft en viktig roll i samhället under en lång period. Syftet med dessa systemen har inte ändrats, det är alltid säkerhetsaspekten som har varit huvudpunkten. Effektiviteten på ett övervakningssystem beror oftast på den mänskliga faktorn, någon måste bearbeta bildflödet som spelas in för att dra definitiva slutsatser. Under senare år har dessa övervakningssystem, i takt med teknologins utveckling, blivit mer intelligenta. Metoder som tillämpar automatisk analysering av en given bild har introducerats, vissa av dessa tekniker har redan hunnit bli en standard. Denna studie ska utveckla en prototyp som använder sig av tekniken och stresstesta för att identifiera eventuella brister.

Abstrakt:Syftet med föreliggande akademiska studie är att kartlägga vad självskadebeteende innebär, varför det utförs och vilken behandling det finns att få. Resultatet som togs fram genom kvalitativa, semistrukturerade djupintervjuer, både med personer som själva har erfarenhet av självskadebeteende (de primära informanterna) och yrkeskvinnor (de sekundära informanterna) som kommer i kontakt med det. Resultatet går ej att generalisera då antalet informanter inte kan representera hela populationen. Goffman förklarar i boken ?Jaget och maskerna? på ett bra sätt individernas agerande och handlingar i samhället och Mead beskriver med sin teori ?The self? de primära informanternas personlighet.

When searching for better and more practical interfaces between users and their computers, additional or alternative modes of communication between the two parties would be of great use. This thesis handles the possibilities of using eye and head movements as well as voice input as these alternative modes of communication. One part of this project is devoted to find possible interaction techniques when navigating in a computer interface with movements of the eye or the head. The result of this part is four different controls of an interface, adapted to suit this kind of navigation, combined together in a demo application. Another part of the project is devoted to the development of an application, with voice control as primary input method.

Studiens syfte var att undersöka de uppfattningar om missbruk som råder inom FoU nordvästs kommunala öppenvårdsmottagningar samt att göra en kartläggning av dessa insatser. Våra huvudfrågeställningar var: (1) Hur definierar öppenvårdsmottagningarna inom FoU nordväst centrala begrepp inom missbruksområdet? (2) Vilka insatser erbjuder den öppna missbrukarvården inom FoU nordväst och vad innebär vissa av dessa? (3) Vilka teorier och metoder om missbruk baserar öppenvårdsmottagningarna inom FoU nordväst sitt arbete på? För att kunna besvara våra frågeställningar gjordes initialt en förstudie i form av en postenkät som mottagningarna fick besvara. Utifrån dessa svar utformades våra intervjufrågor och den fiktiva klienten vinjetten Janne). Undersökningsmetoderna har varit kvalitativa halvstrukturerade intervjuer med personal på de åtta mottagningarna samt vinjettmetoden.Intervjuerna strukturerades i följande fyra teman: (1) Vinjetten Janne, (2) Resursutbud och definitioner av vissa insatser, (3) Tankar om missbruk samt (4) Övriga centrala begrepp.

Dagens teknik har bidragit till att mobiltelefonens användningsområden har expanderat avsevärt de senaste åren. Detta har lett till att alltfler mobila tjänster har dykt upp på marknaden. Uppgiften i detta examensarbete består i att utveckla en version anpassad för mobiltelefoner av den existerande produkten TelMe, som är en webbtjänst för vikarietillsättning inom olika verksamheter. Den mobilanpassade versionen kommer att gå under namnet TelMe Mobile. Problemställningen var att implementera de väsentliga funktionerna i produkten med avsikt för att göra dessa tillgängliga för mobiltelefoner.

This is a qualitative study which purpose is to examine the experiences of the recovery process after a treatment for eating disorders.                                                         The questions we have decided to examine are; how did the women adapt to a healthier life after treatment, what are the women's perceived experiences of the aspects related to identity and identity work, and what external social influence was seen as important for their adjustment process to a healthier life?Methods: We have used computer-supported and semi-structured interviews. There were a total of nine women who took part in the study.                                                                                                                    Results: Majority of these women have been recovered from their eating disorders, but some still have major or minor problems. They found it rather difficult to adjust their life's without an eating disorder.Conclusions: Increased self-awarness led to greater control over the eating disorder. The women could begin to confer the new features that they identified with.

Artificiella neurala nätverk (ANN) har många användningsområden inom datavetenskap. Några av dessa är mönsterigenkänning, robotik, processkontroll, optimering och spel. Detta examensarbete kommer att handla om hur en alternativ lösning på den traditionella arkitekturen av hur ett neuralnät kan se ut. Jag kommer att undersöka om man kan ta ett stort och komplext neuralnät och bryta ned detta till mindre neuralnät utan att förlora kvaliteten på botarna i en spelmiljö kallad Open Nero. Detta för att försöka minska beräkningshastigheten av neuralnäten och förhoppningsvis även göra så botarna lär sig ett bra beteende snabbare. Mitt examensarbete kommer att visa att min lösning av arkitekturen för ett neuralt nätverk inte fungerar speciellt bra då botarna inte lärde sig tillräckligt fort.

This masters thesis deals with smoke spread via ventilation systems. One aim of the thesis is to investigate and explain the differences in efforts to prevent smoke spread via ventilation systems in different countries. A second aim of this thesis is to investigate how frequently occurring smoke spread via ventilation systems in Swedish buildings are. A third aim is to investigate how uncertainties in input variables to smoke spread calculations will affect the result of calculation. To be able to do this the most important input variables are identified and analysed.

Mer specifikt unders?ks framst?llningar av kvinnor som pekas ut som "missbrukare" i LVM-domar och hur domarna bidrar till andrefiering av "missbrukare". Genom att unders?ka hur kvinnor som anses vara i behov av tv?ngsv?rd enligt LVM beskrivs och hur deras situationer representeras diskursivt blir det m?jligt att kritiskt unders?ka vilka sociala konsekvenser andrefieringen kan f?.

Through a case study, I wanted to find out what advantages and disadvantages local companies consider with scrum and what they think about its future. To find out what scrum is, I read the literature and scientific articles and then wrote surveys based on my thoughts. Further, I also wanted to find out if it?s possible to use scrum in a school environment and therefore I visited a high school class who used scrum in one of their projects. The result was good but could have been better as it requires more training of scrum to understand everything. The surveys were distributed to various local companies. After having received a lot of answers, I concluded that the clear priority was the most positive feature of scrum and the most negative was that it was difficult to get the rest of the organization to understand scrum, which creates problems. Both high school class and local companies believe in scrum?s future, even if they think scrum will be partially modified to adapt to the software-development in the future. According to the survey responses, the most important to get the projects to be successful both now and in the future is that everyone who work with scrum is right educated..
