The aim of this project was to improve taste of a liquid food product, comprising extremelybitter and unpalatable amino acids and one unrevealed ingredient. The amino acids were Lleucine,L-isoleucine, L-valine, L-threonine and L-lysine monohydrochloride. Experimentaldesign was set up as a screening of water solutions comprising these ingredients (called BCAAsolutions) and added ingredients with potential to improve flavour. BCAA solution withingredients that were potential bitterness suppressors were evaluated in flavour, bitternessand/or palatability. Solutions of separate amino acids were also studied.

Game fields are one way to divert animals away from sensitive areas, create shelter and forage, and also to increase the biological diversity. In this study I investigated how the plant Composition in six different crop mixes used for game fields affected the biomass production, biomass consumption and biological diversity at the Koberg estate in southwestern Sweden. Six experimental fields were used and each field contained six plots, approximately 1500 m2 each, that was sown with a different crop mix. The crop mixes ranged from a pure grass mix (A), 70 % grass and 30 % leguminous plants (B), 53 % grass, 21 % leguminous plants and 26 % other herbs (C), 100 % leguminous plants (D) to the most complex mixes constituting of 91 % leguminous plants and 9 % other herbs (E) and 87 % leguminous plants and 13 % other herbs (F). The fields were cut weekly during the summer in 2010, to estimate weekly biomass production.

The purpose of this thesis is to analyze the regulatory power, efficiency and impact of export control on Swedish arms export from the 1980s onwards, linked to the delegation of authority of permit license to the Inspectorate of Strategic Products in 1997. An increase in the administrative sector, based on a collective decision making process and established criteria and guidelines, aimed to strengthen the control of arms export to non-democratic and problematic states. In short, the aim of the study is to investigate and analyze whether there was a decrease in the arms export to problematic states or not. On one hand, it is reasonable to assume that the introduction of the new regulation entailed a more strict arms export policy. However, previous research has showed that regulations are sometimes not effective since incentives to breach these may be present.The study begins by examining the Swedish case and situation in terms of arms manufacturing and export, as well as the delegation of authority and legislation applied to the field over time.

The streetscape is a complex environment with a lot of different parts and users. If you look at the streetscapes main parts you have floor, walls, roof and furniture. The floor in the streetscape, the street, consists of the ground and the paving. It can be made of a lot of different materials with both architectonic and practical functions. The walls usually consist of the houses. They have a big influence on the streetscape depending on architecture, heights and widths.

The following report describes an exploratory work about Furillen,an island that belongs to the area Rute, in northern Gotland. Theproject is a result of a selection of texts taken from the author ClasEngström - my grandfather. He wrote, among other things, about theinhabitants of Rute and their experience and ways of dealing with thedevelopment of their society. Through the use of graphic design I havetried to update the content of some of these texts.Much have changed since my grandfather wrote about Rute, whichgave me further reason to update the topic.In addition to the research, I looked at graphic design?s importancefor interpreting the literary content.

My thesis is a combination of theory and practice, where theory is meant to create a context and a background for my interpretation proposal. I wanted to ?access? the ideas that are always in the background of the reasoning which underlies both planning in a larger scale, and the design of a place. I wanted to make a ?work of ideas.? In the process of shaping the proposal, I wanted to be deleted from the site itself.

This thesis aims to study whether the Swedish corporate law is in need of additional rules regarding the Composition of the board of directors from a gender equality point of view. Sweden is internationally a state that is far ahead when it comes to creating equal opportunities for all its citizens. The Swedish labour market consist of men and women to an equal degree, although this is a phenomena that is not reflected on the leading positions in the larger limited corporations listed on the stock exchange. This is a trend that definitely needs to be attended to, since women can provide crucial knowledge that is important not only to the individual corporation but also to the society as a whole. This is strengthened by the fact that demographic differences in boards stimulates creative solutions and well reasoned suggestions.The opponents to legal measures regarding affirmative action base their arguments on the fact that the shareholders right of ownership is limited as a result of such measures and also that rules regarding self-regulation through corporate governance is preferable.

A budget consists of figures showing how much a particular activity has access to during a given year. With a balanced scorecard, these figures and guidelines can be converted in to more easily understandable non-financial instructions for the employees. One of the most significant differences between the budget and the scorecard is that the budget focuses on short-term results while the scorecard focuses on long-term visions and goals. With a long-term thinking the leaders can  set more long-term goals and also make more well-planned investments which increases the possibility for the organization to evolve and become better in the long term. By combining the two instruments a good balance between short and long term perspectives can be achieved, which creates a more effective steeringIn the 1990s, many of the municipalities introduced needs budget, one of them was Gothenburgs municipality.

The dog (Canis lupus familiaris) is the first species ever domesticated. They can develop a close bond towards other dogs, almost like a relationship among siblings, which can be a high valuable resource for good relations and cooperation?s. Dominance in dogs is sometimes used to explain undesired behaviors and explained as a personality trait. Dominance though, is not a trait in a dog or a source for undesired behaviors, but can rather be explained as a relationship between individuals, were one of them receives more submissive signals from the other.

Diversity of ground beetles (Col: Carabidae) in managed riparian grasslands. The carabid community in moist seminatural grasslands was studied at three different sites in mid-Sweden. Pitfall trapping was carried out during six weeks in spring and early summer 2003. Eight transects, each containing seven pitfall traps, were placed in three different management regimes, either late or continous grazing, or meadow. The species Composition was analysed by ordination analyses, i.e. DCA and CCA.

Dagens hästägare utfodrar inte sina hästar med enbart grovfoder. Många av dem fodrar stora mängder kraftfoder och en del hoppas att det kommer förbättra hästens prestation. Spannmål har ofta ett förhållandevis högt energiinnehåll och lämpar sig därför i foderstater till hästar som har ett högt energibehov. Utfodring av stora mängder energi kan orsaka problem för hästen, bland annat i form av kolik och många stereotypier som vävning, krubbitning och boxvandring. Eftersom det finns hälsorisker med foderstater med mycket kraftfoder i, är det av intresse att undersöka hur olika kraftfoder påverkar hästens hälsa, ämnesomsättning och prestation men även om det går att ersätta kraftfoder med ett energirikt vallfoder.

The farm management system controlled traffic farming (CTF) aims to reduce soil compaction by restricting the field traffic from agricultural machinery to permanent traffic lanes. Literature and empirical findings show that soil compaction and field traffic from heavy machinery may affect crop growth negatively, reducing crop yields. If grass-clover leys are subject to heavy field traffic the botanic Composition might be altered, providing a lower clover content in the forage. Clover as a silage feed is rich in protein providing good conditions for high yielding dairy cows. Grass-clover silage production is generally associated with intensive field traffic.

This paper is an analysis of the novel Season of Migration to The North by Tayeb Salih. Season of Migration to The North was first published in 1967 and it is the most accomplished among several works in modern Arabic literature.I shall focus on one of the two major characters, Mustafa Said, a young Sudanese student whose brilliant career at school in Sudan and Cairo eventually brings him to England; he has a successful academic career in England as a lecturer at the University of London.One of the major themes of the novel is the confrontation between Mustafa Said and England, which in other terms is described as the confrontation between East and West. The conflict is rooted in colonialism. Mustafa Said?s native country, Sudan, was a British colony when the story takes place.

This study was a degree in Master of Science in agriculture with specialization in animal science for the Department of animal nutrition and management at SLU. The subject was created by AS-Faktor, a small company for science and development within the company Lantmännen AB. It was a test of the effect of SPC (Special Processed Cereals) on induction of the endogenous protein AF (an antisecretory factor) in plasma and intestinal lumen in broilers. Previous results have shown positive effects on different intestinal diseases in pigs, horses, dogs as well as in humans. Beside the induction we also studied the effects on results in a conventional slaughter chicken production, including the ability of SPC to compete with or be affected by the coccidiostat, Salinomax.When diarrhoea occurs, it's because there is an imbalance between the secretion and the absorption and it can be caused by for example toxins.

Denna studie behandlar bondehushållets försörjningsmönster och dess utveckling sent 1800-tal. Undersökningen fokuserar på ett svenskt hushåll åren 1870-1900, enperiod då jordbruksekonomin integrerades i marknader och ledde till ökad specialisering, nya jordbruksvaror, ökad rationalisering i produktionen och Bruksdöd för gamla näringar. Hushållet, Tomtas gård i Folkärna socken uti södra Dalarna, utgör ett av de bondehushåll i Sverige som själv dokumenterade processen genom bondedagbokens dagliga och vardagliga notiser.Den ekonomiska vardagen i bondehushållet har studerats för att förstå vad förändringarna innebar för människorna som direkt deltog i-, och påverkades av, marknadsintegreringen. Detta har skett genom att studera bondehushållets medlemssammansättning och tidsdisposition för olika arbetsmoment utifrån antagandet att husbondens livscykel hade en avgörande inverkan på bondehushållets försörjningsmönster. Livscykel förstås här som den tid då gårdsansvar innehas av en husbonde fram till dess att en ny husbonde, son eller svärson, tar över gården.
