Textila material
Under ett samarbete med underklädesbutiken Bornevings har information om textila materialtagits fram. Butiken erbjuder alltid god service när det gäller utprovning av plagg men saknarbaskunskaper om textila material och hur de tillverkas. Textil informationen har tagits framför att underlätta detta problem. Kunskapsbristen kommer nu att eliminerats så personalen kanerbjuda den bästa servicen.För att få reda på hur informationen på bästa sätt skulle redovisas för butiken studeradespedagogik. Inlärning fungerar olika för alla, vissa tar till sig bilder medan andra lättare kanregistrera text.

Abstract The purpose of the study is to examine how children perceive the relation between play and sex and analyse it from a gender perspective. This by answering the questions: "Is the children?s choice of place, materials and company in play dependent on gender?" and "Is there a significant difference between the sexes and/or ages?" The study was done through twelve focusgroup interviews with three children in each group except two groups of two children in each. Eight boys and nine girls of six years old and nine boys and eight girls of nine years old were interviewed. Boys and girls were interviewed in separate groups and the questions were open ended and followed up.
Blood compatibility of biomaterials made of recombinant spider silk
Native spider silk is an attractive lightweight natural polymeric material with a unique combination of strength, extendibility and flexibility. Synthetic, recombinant spider silk is an attractive biomaterial with several possible fields of application.
When a foreign material is introduced to blood, this can for example cause unwanted coagulation and complement activation.
The aim of this study was to investigate if coatings of heparin or albumin could improve the blood compatibility of films of recombinant spider silk and to develop an initial method to do so. Hypothetically, objects like pacemakers, stents and dental implants could be covered with spider silk films of high blood compatibility to reduce potentially harmful foreign body reactions caused by the immune defense. Increased blood compatibility would likely lead to improvements for both the individual patients and the society thanks to reduced load on healthcare institutions.
Our objective was to assess the blood compatibility of both functionalized and non-functionalized recombinant spider silk by evaluating coagulation and activation of the complement system of the immune defense.
Coagulation was evaluated visually on glass slides and complement activation was analyzed by measuring the concentration of the complement system mediator C3a in blood samples that had been exposed to the different materials.
This study introduces a non-toxic and easy performed method of improving the blood compatibility of recombinant spider silk films by adding a heparin coating.
Heparin coated surfaces had statistically significantly higher blood compatibility than uncoated surfaces. The effects of albumin coating of films were less clear compared to the results of heparin coated films.
Complement activation could not be evaluated because of high activation in all samples prior contact with the materials that were included in the study..

Betydelsen av biologiska aktivitets- och experimentmaterial i förskolan
The purpose of this study was to gain greater knowledge of how preschool teachers and children using an experimental- and activity box in biology. To find this out, I have used the participant observation method and semi-structured interviews since my study is qualitative. The result of the work led to a greater understanding of the biologybox. It was shown that preschool teachers' involvement is very important for children and that the biologybox contained good and inspiring materials. Although educators desired that there was more material to choose from as well as the usage time of the biologybox should be longer than 3 weeks..

3D FE Analys av korttidsmätningar hos samverkansbro med integrerade landfästen över Leduån
Broar med integrerade landfästen är i Sverige i dagsläget en relativt ovanlig brotyp, som endast finns av ett fåtal slag. Främsta fördelarna med integrerade landfästen är att rullager inte behövs mellan överbyggnad och landfästen. I nuläget finns inte tillräckligt med underlag för normer med tydliga riktlinjer och regler för projektering av sådana broar. Därför har projektet INTAB startats som har till huvudsyfte att studera integrerade broar och anpassa bronormer till dessa. Som en del i projektet INTAB (Economic and Durable Design of Composite Bridges with Integral Abutments, RFCS, 2005-2008), gjordes 2006 en pilotstudie där en samverkansbro med integrerade landfästen byggdes över ån Leduån som är belägen ca 50 kilometer söder om Umeå.

The aim of this thesis is to describe the principles of metal cutting by laser, how laser cutting is applied in practice and to identify how Swedish companies are using laser cutting. For the theoretical and technical description of laser cutting literature studies are the primary source of information. The empirical basis for the mapping of the Swedish industry for laser cutting is grounded on a survey; this includes Swedish companies that use laser cutting in their production.

The Regional State Archive in Uppsala [Landsarkivet i Uppsala] has several archives left from various types of educational institutions in the counties of Dalarna, Södermanland, Uppsala, Västmanland and Örebro. This archiv-al guide reveals the main content of some of the school archives. It goes through the archives of the elementary school, state secondary grammar schools and private secondary grammar schools. A few special schools for the blind and the deaf children are included. The essay also brings up records from community homes and reformato-ries for children and young adults who experienced certain difficulties and therefore could not adjust to the ordi-nary educational system.

The intention of this final thesis is to examine how to create a schoolyard that inspires children at the age of 6 ? 12 years to play and give them possibility to develop. To get a lot of knowledge in this subject, I have combined studies of literature with practical studies at Hosjöskolan in Falun. During my practical studies I have done interviews, walks in the area with the children and visited other schoolyards. I have based a design proposal for the schoolyard of Hosjöskolan on these studies.
Förbättrad vakuumtätning mot kabeln under plastextruderingsprocessen
This thesis is about developing a design that provides improved vacuum seal between a lead coating and a plastic coating during plastic extrusion processes of cables. This report is a part of the course MSGC 17 for Bachelor Engineers in mechanical engineering.The work is performed at Nexans Norway AS in Halden where they have a production of high voltage cables for sea-, and offshore industry. A problem they face is that they do not get enough good seal at the attachment to the plastic extrusion machine. They want to achieve a vacuum between a lead coating on the cable and a plastic coating of the cable for plastic extrusion, which is something they do not achieve today. The thesis is thus to come up with a design that provides better sealing against the cable.The work involves a construction part with the phases of product development processes.

Ett problem med elektroniska patientjournalsystem är att arkitekturen för patientjournalerna inte är gemensam vilket försvårar automatiskt utbyte av patientdata. En arkitektur har skapats inom ett projekt som heter openEHR. Förhoppningen är att denna arkitektur ska klara av automatiskt utbyte av patientdata mellan elektroniska patientjournalsystem.I openEHRs arkitektur används något som kallas arketyper. Arketyper är återanvändbara modeller för att begränsa, strukturera och förklara vad som lagras i elektroniska patientjournaler som bygger på denna arkitektur. Istället för att områdesspecifik information, som vad ett blodtryck är, skapas i systemet flyttas den och annan liknande kunskap ut från systemarkitekturen och in i arketyperna.

During the spring of 2013 we developed a visual identity for Jönköping Bandy, a bandy association in Jönköping, which was founded in 1947.Jönköping Bandy?s main problem was the low interest for the association by the local people. The association also had problems with the economy, which made it hard for them to merchandise themselves.In Jönköping, there were a lot of sport associations, and therefore, it was difficult to find sponsors. One way to help the association, was to create a good visual identity for them. A visual identity that would reflect on the proper values of the association.The intention was: ?Through graphical design, we want to convey Jönköping Bandy to a larger amount of people, and get increased knowledge in graphical idiom.? and was torn apart into these three questions:What core values does Jönköping Bandy have, and how can we convey them through the visual identity?Which visual materials does Jönköping Bandy need?How do other teams in Allsvenskan Södra merchandise themselves through their websites?The work began with a study of relevant theoretical literature, with focus on graphical design.
Träplastkompositer ? ett material för framtiden? : en kvalitativ studie om marknadens önskemål för att göra träplastkompositer till ett mer attraktivt material för framtiden
Minskad efterfrågan på traditionella produkter från skogsindustrin kombinerat med ökad efterfrågan på icke-fossila material medför att företag inom skogsbranschen alltmer intresserar sig för nya produktsegment. Holmen New Business Development, en forsknings- och utvecklingsavdelning inom företaget Holmen arbetar med att utveckla produkter där trä kan ersätta traditionella alternativ. En möjlig produkt för avdelningen är Wood Plastic Composite (WPC), ett material som består av en kombination av en plastmatris och ett träbaserat fyllnadsmaterial som kan ges olika egenskaper vilka skiljer sig från rena trä- och plastmaterial.
Syftet med denna studie var att undersöka hur designers och produktutvecklare inom olika svenska branscher ser på användandet och utvecklingen av WPC inom sina produktområden, både idag och i framtiden. För att undersöka detta har 18 kvalitativa intervjuer genomförts med företag inom möbel-, köks-, fönster-, dörr-, staket- och trallindustrin.
Studien visar att ett lågt pris, hög beständighet mot till exempel röta, fukt och mögel samt att materialet går att bearbeta på samma sätt som trä är de mest önskvärda attributen hos framtida WPC-material. Miljövänlighet hos produkten är ett attribut som respondenterna tror kommer få större betydelse i framtiden men som kunderna inte är beredda att betala för idag.

Projektbeskrivning: Bakgrund: Vid valsning av tunna band med hög hållfasthet används reversibla mångvalsarsverk. Kundkraven är höga vad gäller bandens planhet. Planheten kan styras genom de planhetsställdon som valsverket är utrustat med. Syfte: Förvärva kunskap om hur de olika ställdonen inverkar på planheten. Varje enskilt ställdons inverkan på planheten kan undersökas genom att genomföra en föreskriven förändring av ställdonets läge och därefter utvärdera planhetsförändringen som uppkom.
