The purpose of this thesis has been to determine experimentally how good a peltierelement is to convert waste heat from wood burning. Three different peltier elementswere used in a Comparison study. The Comparison was mainly done to know howmuch power could be obtained from each element. Even, a circuit with a step-upfunction has been created to give a higher output voltage than the peltier elementitself. The result of the experiments was a low output power, the highest valuereached 2.18W.

Previous research indicates that the academic journal in many cases is the most valuable and important source of information in scientific work. The aim of this study is to investigate students usage of academic journals in Comparison to their usage of other document types, as illustrated by the citations given in LIS students master theses 1999-2001. This is a thesis project in the field of information technology which begins by evaluating existing food price Comparison systems and subsequently aims to design an improved, web based system for said purpose. The system features interfaces for price reporting, price Comparisons as well as various search and review functions. The objective is to create a system able to compete with existing price Comparison systems, which requires careful selection of products that can be found in all foodstores that also represent different households; a user-friendly price reporting and price Comparison interface and an efficient tool for ensuring the validity of reported prices.The designed system features a more accurate formula for calculating average prices in events where the real price is missing; a more reliable security mechanism forv alidation of reported prices and a more comprehensible interface for viewing price reports, reporting prices, reviewing stores and products in Comparison with existing systems. The system does, however, suffer from some optimization issues primarily in the form of inefficient database modeling; SQL queries and JavaScript code although testing has shown that these shortcomings do not hamper overall performance to such a degree that usability is compromised. Further usability testing performed on the system with five test subjects shows that a high level of overall user-friendliness has been achieved even though some special features, such as the detailed report containing price information per product for each store need to be improved.It is not possible to say at this time whether or not the designed system will be able to compete with existing ones or if the very concept of food price Comparisons per se is viable in terms of profitability and marketability.

The aim of this thesis is to compare two different classification schemes with each other and see what the differences and similarities are when classifying literature concerning film and television. One of the schemes is of general kind, Klassifikationssystem för svenska bibliotek (SAB) and the other is a special system, FIAF Classification scheme for literature on film and television. The focus of the examination is on comparing the structure, contents and division of firstly the main classes and secondly on comparing the notation and the auxiliary tables in the schemes. The theoretical framework of the Comparison is based upon theory of classification but the conclusions drawn are though mostly of a more subjective character. In addition to the Comparison itself interviews have been made with four libraries, two with experiences of SAB and two with experiences of FIAF.

When the Tranemo library moved to new localities in 1991 there were also some changes made to make the library more user-friendly. The purpose of this essay is to see how a useroriented change can be done and how it has been perceived by members of the library staff and the library users.This is done by the following means:l) interviews with members of the library staff,2) a questionnaire to the users in Tranemo,3) a comparative questionnaire to users of the libraries in Skara and Lerum.The Comparison was concentrated on how the library presents its material. The result of this Comparison shows that even though there is a difference among the three libraries, the difference is small and it is impossible to say for sure that it has anything to do with the changes that have been done. The purpose of this paper is to examine how events can be successful and stay competitive.Festivals are a big part of the event world and it can be difficult to understand why certainfestivals are successful and others not. In this paper we have conducted a Comparison betweentwo major festivals in Stockholm. Both of them reached success, but nevertheless one of themfailed, while the other one is still successful. With this Comparison, it appeared that there aremany aspects that help a festival to reach success but also factors that can make a festival afailure. To conduct this study, a number of interviews have been carried through; these havelater been put in relation to different theories about festivals.

Literature and music as an expression of art have some parts in common, others can quite differ. Both are using a language, and both can exist in written representations. You can find such written or printed items in library catalogues. The aim of this two years master's thesis is to examine how cataloguing of printed fiction-literature and printed music looks like, what differences you can find in cataloguing of printed literature and printed music.This study is based on a comparative methodology and two different theories are used. The first describes the common tasks for library catalogues as they are known traditionally and recently (as FRBR-conceptual model), the other is a Comparison of the two art-species literature (fiction) and music.This paper's first part is a Comparison of how printed literature and printed music are catalogued in the Swedish national catalogue LIBRIS.

The thesis strives to answer the question whether there are any differences between how young customers, in Comparison with older, are affected by brands when buying different products. The purpose is to get a clearer idea about the brands' importance in the future and in that way also to give guidance to companies about how to best market themselves and there products.To answer the question, an experiment was conducted with 480 respondents taking a survey where they had to rate a product after reading a short text about it. Some of the texts stated that a specific brand was behind the product while some said the product was produced by an unknown brand.The result of the study was that young people showed a greater propensity of rating products with a brand higher than products without brands, in Comparison with the older respondents. This gives reason to believe that brands progressively will become an even more important tool for marketers and an unmatched asset for companies in the future..

Less diversity and more homogenization in the media`s news range is the subject for our bachelor thesis. By analyzing and comparing three separate weeks in two of Sweden's largest evening newspapers Aftonbladet and Expressen we wanted to discoverhow the diversity between the two newspapers had changed over the years, more precisely from 1993 until now. Had there been a homogenization or not? We wanted to study this because it is a long going debate about the news stories becoming more and more the same. An important debate because less diversity in news events and news presentation may lead to less diversity in public opinions and knowledge.

The bicycle is an individual means of transport. Many people prefer to cycle over short distances and in congested areas rather than take travel by car or public transport. This is a study of the use of bicycle as an option for commuting to work. It is a Comparison between three cities: Stockholm, Copenhagen and London. The constructed house is a one-floorhouse of 137m2with façade plaster, situated in Borlänge, Sweden. The house has a wooden framewhich is built on a on sight cast concrete foundation, on the ground. This report is a bachelor's thesis of two students from the Energy and Environment degree at KTH Stockholm. Grinda is an island situated Stockholm archipelago. Skärgårdsstiftelsen is landowners and manages the area. Grinda Wärdshus, a guest house located in the island, currently uses an oil-fired boiler as a heating system. The aim of this thesis is to investigate whether wood chips or pellets is, from a sustainability standpoint, a suitable heating method for the guest house.

This study is comparing curriculums in Physical Education between Sweden and Finland. The Comparison was done based on former curriculums and previous research. Results from previous research showed differences between countries and curriculums. The Energy Market Inspectorate is implementing a new tariff regulation in Sweden.
