The aim of this study was to provide an understanding of the situation of an often forgotten group in foster care, the carers? own children. Our main focus was to explore this group?s experience of foster care, their experience of participating in caring for the foster children and their possible need of support and help. Our chosen method was qualitative interviews with six adult children of foster carers, two men and four women.

The study deals with the beliefs that relatives of alcohol and drug dependent persons, and representatives from social services have to the various forms of support available for the relatives. Those who participate in the study points out that there are many people who have a need for support as a relative of an alcohol or drug addicted individual, but that there are circumstances that make them choose not to seek assistance. The study shows that the relatives can experience a reluctance to seek support from social services because of how the organization looks like. The study is qualitative, where the collection of the empiric material has consisted in six semi-structured interviews. Three of them have been with relatives of alcohol-or drug-dependent persons and three have been with social workers in various professions, whose work consists of helping both the relatives of people with alcohol and drug dependence as well as people who are dependent.

    AbstractThe aim of the study was to describe factors of nurse?s experiences when they give NIV treatment to patients with acute respiratory failure in a lung department. Semi structured interview questions about how nurses experience to give NIV treatment on a ordinary lung department was done on 10 nurses, who work in a lung department were NIV treatment is given. Data were analyzed with content analysis. In the result there was shown two themes.

Question of the research: Which Music philosophical ideas can be traced in the instrumental teaching of a community music school? Two teachers and their students have been videotaped. Data from the tapes and from interviews with the teachers and students have been analyzed by means of a category system, which grew out of the theoretical overview.

Syndecan-1 is a cell surface proteoglycan which participates in cell adhesion, differentiation, motility, morphogenesis and intracellular signaling. The two glycosaminoglycans heparan sulfate and chondroitin sulfate are covalently attached to the ectodomain of syndecan-1 via a tetra saccharide linkage sequence. However, the ectodomain can be modified having only one or neither of the glycosaminglycans attached. The glycosaminoglycans are capable of binding ligands such as fibroblast growth factors (FGFs) and support activation of receptors. The purpose of this essay is to examine how same-sex couples experience the second-parent adoption process. To assist us, we have used our questions: how do the couples describe their experiences of the adoption process? Which are the couples? stories about the experience of contact with the involved professionals? What are the opportunities and barriers for same-sex couples to start a family? How do the couples describe their experience of reactions from the community and society, and how do they think the future will look like for same-sex couples? This study has been achieved through a qualitative approach. The empirical data is based on seven semi-structured interviews with same-sex couples or pair members that want to or have had a second-parent adoption. The theory we have used for analyzing the results is phenomenology with focus on queer theory, heteronormativity, and power.

This paper explores the emic use of ?Internet trolls" and trolling behaviour in one specific Internet community. The findings are compared with, and put in relations to the conventional definition of Internet-trolls as individuals who deliberately, typically anonymously, antagonize other users of online common spaces.A forum dealing with matters of relationship issues in the Swedish online community Message Board of Familjeliv.se, was the subject of field-work that provided the basic empirical material for the research; three comparable threads on the subject of infidelity. These could all be said to contain suspected trolling, and such suspicions were also ascribed participants throughout the discussions. The analysis was undertaken mainly in terms of quality of narrative, performance and interaction.A comparative method and a genre analysis out of a holistic and functionalistic perspective is used to shed some light on how forum participants organize themselves and steer narratives towards desired outcomes.

Uppsatsens syfte är att pröva tesen att Radiosportens sändningar har blivit mer jämställda mellan 1995 och 2007. Det som undersökts är utrymmet som kvinnor och kvinnligt idrottsutövande får i sändningarna i förhållande till män och manligt idrottsutövande. Metoden att besvara frågan är kvantitativ. Radierade sekunder har räknats och fördelats mellan kategorierna kvinnliga och manliga röster och kvinnligt och manligt idrottsutövande. Kriterierna för jämställdhet är att de kvinnliga rösterna är proportionerligt representerade och att kvinnligt idrottsutövande får ett proportionerligt utrymme i Radiosportens sändningar. Undersökningens resultat visar att Radiosporten har blivit mer jämställd under  undersökningsperioden, men att det inte går att säga att ökningen är stabil från år till år. Resultaten visar också att kvinnor och kvinnligt idrottsutövande inte får utrymme i nivå med andelen kvinnor eller omfattningen av kvinnligt idrottsutövande generellt..

This entail an increasing strain on the medical service when to nurse and treat patients with diabetes type 2. To support and empower the patients in their choices, which will affect them for life, is a challenge to the nurse. The nurse is an important character in nursing care when patients take a more active part in treatments. The aim of this literature review was to exam the factors, which influence diabetes care.

The purpose of the study was to find out how teachers in a school in Kenya conducted the education of mathematics in standard 4-6. The focus was how the teachers worked with children in need of special support in mathematics.To find out the purpose a case study was made with two interviews and seven observations with four teachers on a rural school in Kenya. The following issues were: Which standards were there in the classrooms during lessons in mathematics in Kenya? How did the teachers express the view of children in need of special support? The main conclusion was that different teachers teaching in mathematics looked the same.The teacher was standing in front of the blackboard where the teaching occurred and the pupils were sitting lined up in their benches. The teaching of the pupils was about repetition and imitates the teacher and mostly filling the gap that the teacher made them say.

Vilket motiv och vilken metod som används för att bevara ekosystem, växt- och djurarter har skiftat under olika epoker. Idag skyddas naturreservaten genom mer eller mindre lyckade metoder, och för att lyckas behövs olika faktorer uppfyllas. I skogsreservatet Thuma i Malawi arbetar en ickestatlig organisation med att bedriva ett naturvårdsprojekt med syfte att rehabilitera områdets ekosystem. Fokusen, i denna deskriptiva studie har varit huruvida den historiska utvecklingen inom naturvården, från stängsel och utestängande till involverande och deltagande, mot Community-based conservation, har fått genomslag i naturvårdsförvaltandet av Thuma samt hur dessa strategier påverkar befolkningen runt reservatet. Genom observationer och intervjuer med bland annat by-överhuvuden, reservatarbetare och företrädare för förvaltarorganisationen har situationen i och kring reservatet kunnat kartläggas.
