The histiocytic diseases are generally rare in dogs and not much is known about the disease. The disease complex that includes both a reactive form and a tumour form, is however common in certain breeds, among them the Bernese Mountain Dog. As the literature is very limited on the subject of histiocytic diseases, my aim with this thesis has been to gather current knowledge of these diseases. I have also attempted to estimate the frequency of the diseases among the Swedish Bernese Mountain Dogs and investigate if they appear to be more common among certain families..

Stroke is one of the most common diseases in Sweden and the third most common cause of death (National guidelines concerning stroke, 2000). Dysphagia is a common problem for stroke patients with almost 50 percent of patients suffering from severe swallowing dysfunction (Axelsson, Asplund, Norberg & Eriksson, 1989). The purpose of this study was to investigate how stroke patients with dysphagia experience their swallowing disorders. The method used was a qualitative literature study. An analysis of content was carried out using ideas and inspiration from Graneheim and Lundman (2003).

The aging population is a challenge for Europe and there must be cooperation between EU member states to join the challenge to meet. The purpose of this study is to describe and analyze the EU's ability to influence older people's health, based on experiences from a selection of European officials and on a review of the EU's common strategies. The authors studied and problematize the implementation of the strategies that the EU has negotiated for the work against the elderly poor health, with a view of member countries have different conditions. Using qualitative methods, we have collected and processed statements from targeted interviews and publications by a range of European policies. The material was then analyzed from implementation theory and organizational theory, and based on results of previous research. The result shows that the EU is developing common strategies and coordination methods to the aforementioned challenge to meet. The results also show that the differences existing between Member States causes implementation difficulties of the common strategies. The study states ultimately decide that there should be common strategies to facilitate the work of Member States when it comes to countering the elderly poor health.

Abstract: A public service sector in constant reformation is a common phenomenon in Sweden. This also includes the municipal care organisations. A central role in those reformations has the public middle chief who often is the one to implemented reforms to the organiza-tion's staff.This study is examining the role of the public middle manager in care organisations dur-ing the implementation of common ideologies value foundation in a present organisa-tion's reform. The study tries to elucidate in which way the public middle managers in municipal care organisations experience their roles, which expectations the management of the organisation has on their roles and how a present organisation changes inflict on the contents of the role. If the middle manager in a municipal care organisation feels like normative for the personal group is another aspect.There are four concepts used as theoretic framework in the study, organization, imple-mentation and public middle managers in a general aspect and the middle manager in a municipal care organisation in a specific aspect.

Epilepsy is a common neurological condition in dogs, being a common reason for death in the statistics from the insurance company Agria in Sweden. Among the different types of epilepsy, idiopathic epilepsy (IE) is the most common and is characterized by the fact that a veterinary examination does not reveal a cause for the seizures. This study has been conducted through studies of medical records and interviews with dog owners. From a total number of 103 dogs that were neurologically examined for seizures, 42 dogs met the inclusion criteria, being classified as having idiopathic epilepsy. When the study was performed, 28 dogs had died, while 14 were still alive.

Successionsplanering handlar om att ha en strategi för att på sikt kunna ersätta chefspositioner inom en organisation. Arbetet inbegriper att identifiera vilka chefspositioner man kan komma att behöva ersätta på sikt, identifiera potentiella ersättare till dessa positioner och sedan genom olika insatser göra dessa kandidater redo.Denna undersökning syftar till att jämföra hur informanter från privat och kommunal sektor upplever att man arbetar med successionsplanering inom sina respektive organisationer.Vi undersöker om det finns likheter och skillnader mellan de två sektorerna gällande arbetet med detta och försöker förklara vad dessa skillnader kan bero på.Vi har intervjuat tio informanter från tio olika organisationer, fem från privat sektor och fem från kommunal sektor. En nyligen genomförd kvantitativ undersökning visar att många organisationer är missnöjda med hur arbetet med successionsplanering fungerar hos dem. Därför har vi valt att genomföra en kvalitativ studie inom samma ämne för att fördjupa oss i hur enskilda informanter upplever att det fungerar inom deras respektive organisation. Organisationerna i undersökningen skiljer sig åt storleksmässigt.De privata organisationerna tillhör dessutom olika branscher.De likheter mellan sektorerna som resultaten visar på, är att de flesta organisationer har något tillvägagångssätt för att identifiera potentiella chefskandidater och därefter göra dem redo att ta över en ledande position på sikt.

The purpose of this essay is to explore the significance for former drug addicts who, during their treatment against drug abuse, have had a therapist with a drug addiction in his or her past. A qualitative case study has been used as method in which four former drug users have been interviewed. We have compiled the results based on five key themes in order to get a comprehensive picture of the relevance of common experiences regarding drug abuse, based on former addicts? experiences. This has been done in connection with a review of different theoretical perspectives that we have found relevant to the investigation. Our findings have then been compared with previous research in the field.

The purpose of this study is to examine political crimes in and women?s political activity in 18th century Sweden. The cases of political crimes which has been used range from 1700- 1789 and they form an outline of the patterns of political crime in this century. These cases contain different types of political crimes, but most common ar defamation of the royal family, defamatory writings, rumor-spreading and treason. To study women?s political activity, seven cases ranging from 1749 to 1758 have been more closely studied.

Convective snowbands is a weather phenomenon that is associated with heavy snowfall in a limited area. They are formed over ice-free parts of e.g. the Baltic Sea when there is a cold easterly airflow over relatively warm water. These convective snowbands can cause large amounts of snow along the Swedish east coast, often causing traffic hazards. Sometimes they can even paralyze an entire community.  In this study, convective snowbands that have formed over the Baltic Sea during the period 1980-2009 are examined, in order to find out how often they occur, what place they are most common and in what month they usually appear.

The concept of green IT is a hot topic in the industry right now. The requirements forenvironmental friendliness are becoming increasingly common. There is a lack of knowledge andunderstanding of what green IT means and how it can be achieved. Our study shows that the useof ICT can never become entirely green, but a lot can be done to become greener. We haveproduced a balanced scorecard which in theory leads to better governance, increased knowledgeand a common picture of what the work of greening IT means for employees and theorganization.

En designers främsta uppgift är att hitta lösningar på problem som är svårformulerade vilket kräver full förståelse för designsituationen. Interaktionsdesignern fungerar dessutom som länk mellan olika aktörer i en beställarprocess med syfte att tillgodose slutanvändarens behov, som ofta faller mellan stolarna. Avsikten med denna rapport är att studera hur interaktionsdesignern kan vara den kommunikatör som krävs. Detta har gjorts genom att titta på hur objekt används i kommunikationen mellan designern och dess klient. Studien är gjord genom en videoanalys som tolkats utifrån Herbert H.

Den svenska elmarknaden avreglerades den 1 januari 1996 och handel och produktion med el öppnades upp för konkurrens. Idag fungerar den nordiska elbörsen Nord Pool som den dominerandemarknadsplatsen för all handel med el inom Norden. Varje dag samlas aktörernas bud för utbud och efterfrågan på och systempriset baseras på producenternas marginalkostnader och konsumenternas betalningsvilja. Den internationella marknaden innebär att den gränsöverskridande handeln med el ökar. De nordiska stamnäten är inte dimensionerade för denna omfattande handel vilket ger upphov till flaskhalsar i stamnäten.

This study investigated the effect different contexts have on personality items when they are framed more neutrally. The study was based on a five-factor personality inventory originating from International Personality Item Pool. The inventory consisted of 50 original and 50 neutral personality items and in addition 28 items measuring social desirability. The sample consisted of 150 students from the Department of Psychology, Lund. The students were divided into three instruction groups differing in context.

The primary aim of the current study was to gain increased knowledge about drivers' risk experiences. The study was based on questionnaires answered by 30 private drivers and 30 bus drivers, with 50% men and 50% woman in each group. The study revealed no differences, either between men and women drivers with regard to their experience of risk, or between the groups of private and bus drivers. Gambling is common within the private drivers group. Mistakes are common in all groups.
