Metaforen har genom historien fängslat filosofer, och redan på Aristoteles tid fördes en diskussion kring metaforens plats i språket och vad metaforer kan tänkas betyda. Innan man börjar undersöka detta bör man nog först och främst stanna till och fråga sig vad en metafor egentligen är. Det finns ett otal metaforer och variationerna är oändliga, men i regel består en metafor av ett eller flera objekt i ljuset av attribut hos ett annat objekt. Metaforarbete sätter således två entiteter i en relation till varandra, en relation som oftast anses baserad på någon typ av likhet. Ett klassiskt exempel är Shakespares berömda scenmetafor ur As you like it ? ?All the world's a stage / And all the men and women merely players / They have their exits and their entrances?.

With self-hypnosis as a method, I work with levels of consciousness in relation to practice. Focus lies in the relation between a language of materials and an inner experience. How do material expressions function as mediums of a spiritual matter between a beholder and me? The trance functions as a space for a spiritual contact/communication. Abstract images of crystalline glaze on ceramic tiles are direct results of these acts.

THE PAINTING CHILD. A DISCOURSE ANALYSIS OF AESTHETIC PROCESSES OF LEARNING IN RELATION TO DEWEY´S ART AS EXPERIENCE.The aim of this study is to present a discourse analysis made on five-year-old children during art activities in a preschool in Sweden. The questions asked are: how does interaction take place between the children, or the child and the teacher, during art activities? And what does this tell us about the relationship to art in preschool? In Art as Experience John Dewey claims that art is separated from other experiences of life, but that it ought to be close to ordinary life-experiences. Today visual culture is important in society but not in school.

"The Value of Knowledge - Towards a Virtue Epistemological Position" The classical question, first posed in Plato's Meno, concerning the value of knowledge constitutes the starting point of this essay. Value analysis has long been neglected in epistemologist's accounts until its re-emergence with the tradition called ?virtue epistemology?, in particular with scholars following Ernest Sosa. Like virtue ethics virtue epistemological accounts changes the focus from the object to the agent, i.e. from knowledge to intellectual virtue.

Abstract The purpose of this project is to develop a modular processor card which is intended to work as a platform for Kitron Development Karlskoga. The modular processor card is meant to be used as a control system in development projects, mainly in medical and industrial products. The processor card will consist of a central unit with the basic functions for a control system. Furthermore there will be complete modules with machine commodity and programming, to pick exactly the necessary functions for a specific application. With consideration to the specification of the development and the main unit, I chose an adequate microprocessor (AT90CAN32) as core and interface circuits to stated border areas. The construction is first completed in the program MultiSim and then remade in the program OrCAD Capture. The programming language C was used in the software model.

By studying literature concerning design, didactics and reflection, and complementing those explorations with interviews with experienced design educators, this thesis challenges the idea of aesthetic media education being purely aesthetic in its characteristics. Drawing from their own experiences as a media aesthetics educator and an industrial designer, the two authors argue that the work flow used within most fields of design, commonly known as the design process, might provide a suitable didactic alternative to a field of education lacking relevant methodology. The literature study offers a better understanding of the design process and how it may be defined and viewed within an educational context. The interviews provide a more practical insight into the world of design education. The result shows that the design process as a didactical method theoretically offers both elements of critical thinking as well as direction and frames for students lacking aesthetic and artistic experience.

This paper investigates the ongoing talks between the Swedish libraryassociation (Svensk Biblioteksförening) and the Swedish Publishers?Association (Svenska Förläggareföreningen) regarding a new payment modelfor e-book loans in Swedish public libraries. The current model allows an ebookto be lent an infinite number of times and for each loan the library paystwenty Swedish kronor to the supplier, Elib, which in turn passes half of thatsum on to the publicers.The reason for the talks is that both libraries and publishers have reason to bedispleased with the current model. For the libraries it has proven to be aneconomic challenge, for the already strained library economies, sincepayment is made directly by the individual library from the media budget.The publishers also have reasons to want a change of model since thecompensation they receive from the libraries is not enough for them tocontinue publishing e-books and making a profit. They argue that to protectthe commercial e-book market the principle of free loans has to be replacedby a model that introduces ?friction? in the form of limitations on how manytimes a title can be loaned.This study is based on interviews with representatives from both sidesinvolved in the talks, along with a representative from Elib and a librarian.An analytical tool has been constructed by the author to aid in the process ofuncovering arguments and standpoints in the interviews.

Stormwater from trafficked areas often contains high pollution levels. In traditional stormwater management design, stormwater is first transported away through piped networks, and then in most cases passes through oil separators before finally reaching the recipients. While this traditional method removes certain pollutants from the stormwater, it does not reduce the total flow, as in the case of ecological stormwater management. In the ecological method the stormwater is not simply transported away, but is recirculated through infiltration, percolation, and detention. The aim of this study is to investigate possible advantages of ecological management designs, in contrast to traditional management.

Vi väljer inte att födas, men bör vi som en fundamental mänsklig rättighet kunna välja hur eller när vi ska dö om vi är ohjälpligt dödssjuka, kan den valmöjligheten bidra till ett bättre liv? Uppsatsen är komparativ med explorativ inriktning och pekar på många dilemman som är viktiga att reflektera över när det gäller frågan om aktiv eller läkarassisterad eutanasi bör tillåtas eller inte.För att uppnå syftet att försöka svara på uppsatsens problemställning, förs en diskussion, häri avgränsad till att belysa hur viktiga influenser i samhället resonerar; våra riksdagspartier, de största troslärorna samt för ämnet relevant forskning. Jag har läst sekundär, men också i ett fall primär, litteratur i form av böcker och artiklar för att lära om olika perspektiv, samt intervjuat människor som arbetar med döden eller nära relaterade frågor. Jag har slutligen också varit på en föreläsning för läkarstuderande, om dödshjälp..

Det verkar vara naturligt för oss människor att i metafysisk mening ha realistiska uppfattningar om världen. Våra vardagliga intuitioner säger oss att ting som exempelvis stolar och bord existerar, och att de gör det oberoende av oss och vad vi tänker, tror och tycker om det. Vi verkar också ha en intuitiv förståelse av sanning som någon form av korrespondens mellan ord och värld. Ett påstående som ?bordet är brunt? verkar till exempel vara sant om bordet faktiskt är brunt.

Syftet med arbetet är att ta reda på vilka kunskapsformer som kan synliggöras i Skolverkets kursplan för ämnet musik samt hur dessa kunskapsformer kan relateras till Skolverkets offentliga dokument kring bedömning och innehåll av musikämnet.Uppsatsen bygger på textanalys och litteraturstudier. Med metoden genomför jag en djupgående analys av dokumenten Kunskapsbedömning i skolan ? praxis begrepp, problem och möjligheter, Bedömning i yrkesämnen ? dilemman och möjligheter  samt ämnesplanen för instrument- eller sångkursen på gymnasieskolans estetiska program.Studiens teoretiska utgångspunkter utgörs av ett tredelat kunskapsperspektiv. I bakgrundskapitlet presenteras även perspektiv på bedömning och tillhörande metoder som används av yrkesverksamma lärare. I resultatdelen presenteras den analys som har gjorts  av Skolverkets texter om vad musikalisk kunskap innebär.

Det handlar således om en vetenskaplig revolution, där teorivalet är höjdpunken och avgörande för revolutionens seger.I denna bemärkelse har teorivalsfrågan blivit centralt för vetenskapens utveckling och det svåraste att avgöras, synnerligen i sammanhang av komplexa strukturer som Kuhns paradigm eller Lakatos? forskningsprogram.I uppsatsen behandlas den roll som inkommensurabilitet, metodologi, kriticism, testning och de sociopsykologiska faktorer spelar beträffande teorivalsfrågan, samt avgörandets grundvalar. Lakatos? progressivitetskriterium går ut på att förklara forskningsprogramsvalet som rationellt handlande, medan Kuhn liknar paradigmvalet vid en gestaltväxling eller en religiös omvändelse.Utan en rationell förklaring av teorivalsproblematiken förblir den en gåta och vetenskapens utveckling förblir oförklarlig..

E-commerce is becoming more common in Sweden and many Swedes buy clothing and sporting goods online. Online fashion retailers offer a visually pleasing range of products, which places greater emphasis on the aesthetic design of the online retailer. This paper examines how the perceived credibility of an online fashion retailer is influenced by the aesthetic design through a first impression. This study was conducted through ten interviews where the informants observed, assessed, and then discussed the online fashion retailers that were used in this study. Results show that recognition of an aesthetic design and a perception of usability and professionalism affects the perceived credibility in a positive way.

The purpose of the study is to show the conditions there are by working with aesthetic expressions in pre-school and how these activities are implemented. Questions that we are going to discuss are: What are the conditions for working with aesthetics in pre-school? How is the work implemented when it comes to aesthetic expressions? Our ambition has been to study what conditions it takes to use aesthetic expressions in a way that is meaningful for the children and also show the conditions and alternative methods that are present in different schools. We have used a web survey to reach a result in the study. This web survey includes questions about the different aesthetic activities and has given us the answers to the questions above. The result shows that there are different ways of working and different views at aesthetic expressions.

Denna undersökning behandlar spel i kontext till lärande och matematik. Genom att gestalta ett spel undersökte vi, författare hur olika designval kunde påverka lärande. Målet var att spelare skulle lära sig genom situationsbaserat lärande och där genom få möjlighet att överföra sin kunskap till sitt vardagsliv. Undersökningen hade sin utgångspunkt i ANT (actor-network theory) som användes som metodologi för att analysera och reflektera över de val som gjordes. MDA (Mechanics Dynamics Aesthetics) användes som ett ramverk för att utveckla själva gestaltningen.
