This is an empirical study of how the mathematical talk of adult learners constructs/reconstructs different mathematical discourses. The study is to be regarded as an attempt to develop a discursive approach within the field of mathematics education and to complicate the status of mathematics in education and in society in general. My theoretical underpinnings consist of three possible mathematical discourses ? Coercive, regulative and emancipative mathematics. From a discursive psychology perspective, I let these discourses function as analytical interpretive repertoires in relation to the adult learners? rhetorical use of mathematics and their claiming of mathematical subject-positions, named the coerced, the self-regulating and the responsible mathematician.

The purpose of this paper is to explore what objects that can be seized and how the management of a seizure should be conducted. Ability to take enforcement against an individual should be carefully weighed against the rights and freedoms that exist. Seizure is one of the various restraints that exist, and the regulation on which they appear is mainly in the Code of Judicial Procedure, Chapter 27th. To be able to apply Coercive measures, it is fundamental prerequisite that a criminal investigation is initiated, but there exist some significant exceptions to this. There are also rules about who has the right to provide for the seizure, the decision can be taken by a prosecutor, an investigator, a police officer or, in special cases, the court.

Following his quantitative study of air power, Robert Pape developed a theory which focuses on undermining the target state's military strategy. According to Pape it is possible to explain the outcome as a result of military vulnerability. This essay seeks to determine if Pape's theory can predict the outcome of Operation Unified Protector. By using a mixed methods approach on four hypotheses, it will be determined if the operation was a successful case of coercion, if NATO acted according to Pape's model and whether this achieved the desired effects or not. The results reveal that the theory could not successfully predict the outcome of the conflict.

The purpose of this study was to analyze how the key staff concept is used in residential care for children and young people and which role the key staff concept plays in the organization.The study was based on semi-structured qualitative interviews with six key staff and two managers from two different residential care facilities for children and young people. The theoretical perspective used was the neo-institutional theory and Hasenfeld´s term Human service organizations.One of the conclusions of the study was that the key staff describe that they have a central role when it comes to the treatment of the children. Another conclusion showed the variety of tasks that the key staff have, like the administrative work that they do. They also have an educational role, similar to the one that parents normally have which means that they are responsible of parenting the children. They also described themselves as a link between the children and their social network.

This qualitative interview study examines the shared and discrepant experiences that nine professionals, three from each field of psychiatry, social service, and housing have from working with people with hoarding disorder, and their view on help. The main difficulty when working with hoarding disorder is described as lack of insight and understanding of the severity and consequences of the disorder among people with the disability. Professionals highlight the importance of proper diagnosis and cooperation among disciplinary teams working with hoarding disorder. Approaches differ regarding the issue of how to best help a person with hoarding disorder, especially as the emphasis of autonomy becomes more prevalent. The landlords who were interviewed expressed the hoarders? need of help from the society, whereas the social service interviewees accentuated voluntariness and motivation as a favorable long-term management.

The overarching goal of this paper is to explain the intensive occurrence of partnerships ? regarded as a specific organizational structure ? in the formulation and implementation of Regional Growth Programs.By using theoretical concepts from new institutionalism, the paper tries to examine the explanatory capacity of this theory in the specific case of partnerships. The basis is a skeptical stance towards the conventional interpretation that views partnerships as rational organizational tools. Hence, the purpose of the paper is also to compare our own institutional explanation with the conventional.The paper finds that the occurrence of partnerships can be understood as the effect of an intensive institutional pressure. The government has, in what we regard as the institution for regional development, prescribed the partnership as a rational solution ? a rationalized myth - to the regional growth problem.

Bakgrund: Lagen om psykiatrisk tvångsvård och Lagen om rättspsykiatrisk vård ger rätt att vårda patienter mot deras vilja. I psykiatrisk vård förekommer specifika omvårdnadsåtgärder som bältesläggning, tvångsmedicinering och avskiljning. Dessa väcker många känslor och kräver att sjuksköterskan arbetar med hänsyn och respekt. Relationen är en central del inom psykiatrisk omvårdnad och ska baseras på tillit och empati. Syfte: Att belysa sjuksköterskors uppfattning om tvångsåtgärders inverkan på omvårdnadsrelationen.

Bakgrund: All sjukvård som bedrivs i Sverige är frivillig, även den psykiatriska vården. Dock kan vården ibland ske med tvångslagar mot patienters vilja. När sjuksköterskan begränsar en patients autonomi i form av tvångsåtgärder kan det bidra till att sjuksköterskan upplever det etiskt jobbigt även om syftet är att göra gott för patienten. Syfte: Syftet med litteraturstudien var att belysa sjuksköterskors upplevelser av att utföra tvingande åtgärder mot patienter med psykossjukdom inom psykiatrisk slutenvård, ur ett etiskt perspektiv. Metod: En litteraturstudie med tio kvalitativa artiklar bearbetades och analyserades av författarna.

När en socialsekreterare ska utreda en klient enligt Lag om Vård av Missbrukare i vissa fall (LVM) behöver denne ta ställning utifrån många olika perspektiv. Syftet med denna studie var att ge kunskap om LVM-ärenden ur socialsekreterarens perspektiv samt att belysa deras tankar, uppfattningar och erfarenheter av LVM-handläggning. Undersökningens empiriska material grundar sig på kvalitativa semistrukturerade intervjuer med åtta socialsekreterare. För att kunna tolka och analysera vårt material använde vi oss av utilitarismen och det salutogena perspektivet som tolkningsram.Resultatet visar på att socialsekreterarna upplever både för- och nackdelar i arbetet med lagstiftningen. Socialsekreterarna upplever handläggningen av LVM-ärenden likt ett dilemma.

 Bakgrund: Att vara inskriven enligt lagen om psykiatrisk tvångsvård, LPT, innebär att självbestämmandet tas ifrån en. Eftersom den nya lagen skapades för att skydda patienters integritet undersöker detta arbetet patienternas upplevelser av tvångsvård. Syfte: Syftet var att beskriva patienters erfarenheter av tvång med fokus på tvångsvård inom den psykiatriska vårdenheten. Metod: En litteraturstudie där sju vetenskapliga artiklar ingick. Systematisk granskning av artiklarna genomfördes.

Can Coercive care be justified against drug and alcohol addicts or should treatment be offered on a strictly voluntary basis? This was one of the central questions debated in Sweden during the 70's when the development of a new social legislation, The Social Services Act (Socialtjänstlagen), took place. The first aim of this thesis was to analyse whether the arguments that were presented both in favour for and against coercion were sound. To achieve this, a method for analysing arguments was employed, where a sound argument is defined as acceptable, relevant and adequate. The analysed material consists of both official government reports and books of influential debaters.

Syftet med denna studie är att ur socialarbetarens perspektiv undersöka hur tvångsvård påverkar arbetet med missbrukare. Studien är komparativ och jämför arbetet med missbrukare på Åland som tillämpar finsk lagstiftning respektive Gotland som arbetar efter den svenska lagstiftningen. Metoden som använts är kvalitativ. Fyra socialarbetare med inriktning mot arbete med missbrukare har intervjuats. Intervjuerna har varit semistrukturerade med öppna frågor.

Horses are social, group living animals that spend around 16-17 hours a day on grazing. Horses are often kept stabled in single boxes with a limited feeding time. The forage usually contains grain-based concentrates and roughage.

Svensk kod för bolagsstyrning trädde i kraft 1 juli 2005, Sverige var då ett av de sista länderna i Europa med att skaffa sig en kod. Anledningen till att koden introducerades var för att höja kunskapen om och öka förtroendet för svensk bolagsstyrning, samt att stärka näringslivets effektivitet och konkurrenskraft, detta både inom och utanför Sveriges gränser. Att koden kom just då hade att göra med de stora redovisningsskandaler internationellt sett med Enron och Worldcom som exempel men också med anledning av de felaktiga bonussystem som i Sverige innefattar Skandia, där Skandias förre VD Lars-Eric Petersson i dagarna dömts till 2 års fängelse.De bolag som omfattas av Svensk kod för bolagsstyrning är alla bolag på A-listan samt de på O-listan med ett marknadsvärde överstigande 3 miljarder kronor. Totalt handlar det om 84 st bolag.Denna uppsats syftar till att beskriva hur de berörda företagen på A- och O-listan har mottagit koden med avseende på motstånd till förändring, samt förklara vad motståndet beror på. För att besvara syftet skickades en enkät ut till samtliga bolag.
