Syftet med uppsatsen är att visa på likheten mellan Dan Browns The Da Vinci Code och sagans struktur, aktörer och handling, samt att påvisa romanens didaktiska möjligheter. Utifrån Vladimir Propps sagoteori och Northrop Fryes arketyper och historiska kategorisering samt ett studium av populärromanens likheter med sagan utifrån Ulla Lundqvists undersökning görs en strukturalistisk analys. Vidare har en mindre enkätundersökning gjorts för att skapa en uppfattning om hur en grupp elever på en gymnasieskolan uppfattat romanens didaktiska möjligheter. Resultatet visar att The Da Vinci Code innehåller sagans struktur, med endast några få avvikelser från den kronologiska ordningen, samt att romanens aktörer överrensstämmer med Propps teori och Fryes arketyper. Handlingen uppvisar tydliga inslag från sagan, och överrensstämmer med de sagoelement som Lundqvists undersökning visar, så som exempelvis dualism, magi, i överförd bemärkelse, och ett lyckligt slut.

The Swedish right-wing party the Sweden Democrats gathered much attention during the Swedish general election of 2010. The party?s immigration policy clashed with other major Swedish parties perceptions and the Sweden Democrats got major coverage in Swedish media even before the election had taken place. Despite controvercies surrounding the party, they eventually succeeded in getting into the parliament.This study explores how the coverage of the Sweden Democrats in five large Swedish newspapers has changed between 2009 and 2013. This was done by studying two periods, each period taking place a year before the next general election.

In the recent years auditing scandals all around the world, deficient internal control has attracted a lot of attention. This has contributed to further requirements on insight and internal control. Those scandals have seriously damaged the auditor?s profession and contributed to a reduced trust among the public. Therefore an extensive work to recover and stringed the trust was started all around the world.

?Colosseum- Code of Hammurabi? var titeln på det spelprojekt jag deltog i under kursen ?Spelprojekt II? vårterminen 2006. Spelet är ett fightingspel för upp till fyra spelare som äger rum i en arena i öknen. Då tiden för exjobbet närmade sig bestämde jag mig för att vara med och vidareutveckla spelet till XBox 360.För att få ett proffsigare intryck av arenan till Colosseum valde jag att i en historisk kontext omarbeta arkitekturen efter storyn till ?Colosseum- Code of Hammurabi".I arbetet ingår att finna en lämplig setting och tidpunkt för arenan.Resultatet har blivit en arena som influerats av många olika kulturer, från den babylonska dynastin till Rom och det Parthiska imperiet.Eftersom historien inte alltid erbjudit nakna fakta har jag efter egen förmåga fyllt i de tomrum som uppstått för den kontextuella designen, men även behållit vissa av de stilelement som utmärkte designen i Colosseum- Code of Hammurabi..

Since the 1970s voting behaviour has changed. Party identification and class voting has declined. As the electorate becomes more volatile, campaign strategy and party image becomes essential. Political communication and mass media now play an important role in election campaigns. Therefore, researchers take an interest in the impact of media on public opinion.

Who will win? Popular and literary framing in media coverage of Nobel Prize in Literature by Magnus Wennerberg Autumn 2013Instructor Mats Ekström The question at issue in this essay is how does mass media frame Nobel Prize in Literature? The starting point is to study whether game framing is occuring in media coverage of Nobel Prize in Literature. Previously, game framing has been studied in coverage of politcs, contrasted against issue framing. Game framing means that media frame politics as a game, a contest between politicians about power. This kind of framing is supposed to be used by media in purpose of attracting larger audience.

The purpose of this thesis is to evaluate three search engines with regard to retrieval effectiveness of information specific to Swedish users. Coverage and the precision in result descriptions are also examined. The three selected search engines are Google, MSN Search and Svesök. 30 queries were tested against the search engines and the first 20 result descriptions and results were judged for relevancy. Relevancy was judged by a binary scale.

Bakgrund: Code of Conduct är ett verktyg som används i syfte att förbättra arbete med Corporate Social Responsibility. Det kan beskrivas som en regelsamling för hur företag ska agera i olika situationer och kan ses som ett instrument för att skapa en socialt ansvarsfull kultur. Code of Conduct berör områden som socialt ansvar och miljö. Forskning ifrågasätter huruvida företag använder sin Code of Conduct i PR-syfte eller om företag använder den för att göra gott i samhället. Det finns svårigheter att säkerhetsställa att leverantörer lever upp till företags CoC och vad konsekvenserna blir för de leverantörer som inte efterlever denna.Syfte: Syftet är att undersöka varför företag arbetar med en CoC.  Detta för att öka kunskapen kring vad företagen gör för att fylla gapet mellan uttalad CoC och leverantörers grad av efterlevnad, samt undersöka vilka konsekvenser som uppstår vid avsaknad av efterlevnad.Metod: Studien är av kvalitativ art och har utförts genom en flerfallstudie.

This report contains a programming improvement work in a LabVIEW? fire testing furnace control system for SP Fire Technology in Borås. Here materials and products behaviour are tested and evaluated, being exposed to fire. For this task, UGNET is being used for control and surveillance of the testing furnace system. System hardware has been updated gradually through the years, while the software has been neglected.

The goal of this project was to implement and compare Invere Discrete Cosine Transform using three methods i.e. by bit parallel, digit serial and bit serial. This application describes a one dimensional Discrete Cosine Transform by bit prallel method and has been implemented by 0.35 ìm technology. When implementing a design, there are several considerations like word length etc. were taken into account.

The organic farmland is increasing all the time and the goal is that 15 % of the Swedish farmland will be in organic production in year 2010. The organic production needs new and more effective ways to control weeds, and there is the row harrowing coming as a good complement to the conventional weed harrowing. In this experiment is weed harrowing whit different row spaces and row harrowing with a spacing of 25 cm compared. Then are the weed picked and the weight taken of them. The yield is compared in the 7 different ways of treatment. The results is not showing any significant differences in yield even when the row spacing is 25 cm instead of 12,5 cm. Even the spring wheat that is a sensitive crop and has bad tillering is doing well in this experiment. Now with modern technology where the row harrow is controlled by a camera that making the row harrow to follow the rows is it the soil coverage of the crop that is the limit for the speed. In this report a system for Rapid Control Prototyping, RCP, is evaluated through animplementation of the motor control methods Field Oriented Control, FOC, and Space VectorPulse Width Modulation, SVPWM. The evaluation emphasizes on time-consumption andresource utilization on the used hardware and on usability for of software.A new mechatronic laboratory is under development at ABB Corporate Research in Västerås. Itwill be used for both mechanical and motion control design using existing and new hardware.The control structure in a traditional robot system will be interfaced to a rapid prototypingsystem which should allow easy changes to algorithms at different levels in the system.The system designated for this project comes from National Instruments and constitutesLabVIEW Real-time and FPGA module as the software tools. The hardware is a NI Single-Board RIO (Reconfigurable Input Output), sbRIO, development board including a Field-Programmable Gate Array, FPGA, from Xilinx and a microprocessor from FreescaleSemiconductor. Graphical programming is performed in the LabVIEW environment, andthrough Xilinx tools the LabVIEW FPGA code is compiled to VHDL code.A pre-study was carried out to clarify the concept of RCP and investigate different systems forRCP and their traits.

Corporate governance intensified due to the corporate scandals in the USA which led to a new law the so called Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX).In 2005 the "Svensk kod för bolagsstyrning" (The Code) was introduced. The main purpose of The Code is to strengthen the confidence in Swedish companies quoted on the Stockholm Stock Exchange. The Code focuses on the working process of boards. The rules set by The Code places higher demands on the board.  Among many other duties the board has to establish long term operational goals and strategy.

With the globalization, companies in the West chose to shift production to developing countries to cut down costs. This had a major impact when child labor and very poor working conditions in these factories were discovered and led many companies to take responsibility for their suppliers and the employees by adopting voluntary so-called Codes of Conduct.There is a subtle balance to enforce improvement of working conditions for employees at suppliers´ factories and to keep costs down. On the one hand, companies would like to conduct extensive audits at their suppliers to ensure code of conduct compliance and thus protect their legitimacy. On the other hand, audits are expensive so companies would like to minimize audits to keep costs down. Companies thus have to strike a delicate balance in relation to how many and what suppliers they choose to audit.

The purpose of this essay is to examine and compare the news covering of Swedens three biggest cities (the metropolitan areas) and their surrounding areas with the covering of the rest of the country (the provincial areas) in two daily national newspapers, Aftonbladet and Dagens Nyheter. The aim has been to answer the following questions:- What amount of the news coverage in Aftonbladet and Dagens Nyheter concern the metropolitan areas compared to the provincial areas, and how do these two newspapers differ in the news covering of these areas?- Is there a difference in the news articles size and content, depending on weather they concern the metropolitan or the provincial areas?- How has the balance between news concerning metropolitan and provincial areas changed over the recent 20 years?The theories used in this study are News values, the media commercialization and Popular Journalism, and The Agenda Setting Theory. The method that has been used is a Quantitative Content Analysis.Despite the essays hypothesis, that the news coverage in the two newspapers would be dominated by material from the metropolitan areas, the result showed that a majority of the examined articles concern the provincial areas. It also showed that Aftonbladet has a bigger percentage of provincial news than Dagens Nyheter.
