Syfte: Studiens syfte var att jämföra en ny extubationsalgoritm med sedvanligtextubationsförfarande. Gruppen som studerades var patienter som genomgått en HIPEC-operationoch vårdats på Centrala intensivvårdsavdelningen.Metod: I En randomiserad kontrollerad klinisk pilotstudie randomiserades patienterna till en av tvågrupper. Därefter extuberades patienten enligt en studiealgoritm eller post-operativ standard.Resultat: Syresättningen var väsentligen oförändrad för studiegruppen (37,5 kPa till 36,6 kPa)medan den sjönk för kontrollgruppen (50,1 kPa till 40,6 kPa) vid jämförelse mellan 10 minuter efterankomst och 15 minuter efter extubation. Efter 13 till 18 timmars kontroll strax innan patienternalämnade intensivvårdsavdelningen var syresättningen på samma nivå som 15 minuter efterextubation för både studiegruppen och kontrollgrupp. Således kvarstod en försämrad syresättninghos kontrollgruppen vid utskrivning jämfört med 10 minuter efter ankomst.Slutsats: Studien visar att det skulle kunna vara fördelaktigt att extubera patienter enligt denstudiealgoritm som testats jämfört med dagens kliniska standard.

Feedback is a tool that can be used to give students the confirmation of their accomplishments , helping them to increase understanding of the results of a performance and to alert students if change is required for future performance. Other studies and reports regarding clinical practice in education has shown that students feel that feedback has good impact on learning and positive effects such as enhanced self-confidence. Onboard training forms a major part of the education at the four-year nautical science education in Kalmar, in four years, one year is spent on board ships. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to find out how students at the four-year nautical science program in Kalmar felt that they receive feedback after completing on board training and how they wish that such feedback would be given. Six students were interviewed, three from grade one and three from grade three.

The aim of this study is to investigate what kind of support unaccompanied children needs when arriving in Sweden, according to the staff that is receiving unaccompanied asylum seeking children in Sweden. The method is qualitative and is based on interviews and previous research. The result shows that the main subjects who were of interest from the interviews are elementary need, the support offered, security, ?parental gestalt?, education, leisure, obstacles in the work.All the interviewees describe young people's needs very different when it differs from person to person. The support children receive is the most important factor that unaccompanied children need to be developed and get a better and safer life.

Background Swedish nurses are required by law to document nursing care. Studies have proved scarce in nursing documentation with regard to written language, the nursing process and the nurse´s caring perspective. Educating nurses in using the VIPS model have improved nursing documentation. Few studies have included nursing documentation of psychiatric care.Aim The aim of this study was to describe nursing documentation within psychiatric care of inpatient settings.Method A quantitative, retrospective descriptive research design was applied. A total of 60 nursing journals from a psychiatric department of six wards were studied.

Background: Folate is a water - soluble vitamin necessary for normal DNA synthesis among  other mechanisms. Folate deficiency can cause megaloblastic anemia resulting from abnormal erythrocyte d evelopment. At the Department of Clinical Chemistry, Linköping, analysis of folate is performed with Siemens ADVIA Centaur® XP which uses an immunochemical method with chemiluminimetric detection. Currently, the assay is conducted on serum, is poured off and frozen after 48 h and treated with light protection because folate is considered to be light sensitive.Methods: This study tested lithium heparin plasma for analysis of folate with Siemens ADVIA Centaur® XP with the aim to be able to perform a package of analyzes in anemia investigation from the same collection tube. Furthermore, the stability of folate was studied for up to 168 h and examined regarding light sensitivity.Results: Statistically significant higher values were obtained in the analysis of folate in lithium heparin plasma than folate in serum (p < 0,001).

Background:Chronic heart failure (CHF) is a complex clinical condition. The higher survival rate after heart attack and other heart diseases, plus aging population, has led to more CHF patients. Symptoms can have negative impact on exercise capacity, ability to perform activities of daily living and quality of life. Heart failure clinics have been established to help better quality of life. Helping to stabilize and maintain patients´ health can reduce the need of hospital admission.

Bakgrund: Sjuksköterskans arbete innebär att dagligen möta patienter i olika situationer, ofta  komplicerade  vilket  innebär  många  tankar  och  känsloupplevelser.    För  att  fortsätta utvecklas  som  sjuksköterska  samt  bearbeta  upplevelser  behövs  tid  till  handledning  och reflektion.  Det  finns  flera  olika  handledningsmodeller.  Syfte:  Syftet  med  studien  är  att utifrån  tidigare  forskning  beskriva  sjuksköterskors  upplevelser  av  kollegial  handledning.  Metod:  Litteraturbaserad  studie  med  kvalitativ  inriktning.  Resultat:  Det  framkom  fyra viktiga     huvudkategorier     med     åtta     underkategorier.     Huvudkategorierna     var, handledningsgruppen,  stöd,  reflektion  och  profession.  De  följande  underkategorierna, trygghet  och  motivation,  välbefinnande  och  kollegialt  stöd,  bearbetning  av  känslor, tillfredställelse och bekräftelse, stärkt yrkesidentitet, personlig utveckling samt kvalitet och engagemang.    Diskussion:  Sjuksköterskor  anser  att  handledning  är  viktigt.  Ges  de  inte möjlighet   till   reflektion,   riskerar   känslor   och   upplevelser   att   bli   ett   hinder   i omvårdnadsarbetet.  Det  är  dock  viktigt  att  handledning  utförs  på  rätt  sätt,  för  att  ge sjuksköterskorna  rätt  motivation  att  medverka  i  handledning.  Sjuksköterskorna  når  både personlig   och   professionell   växt   genom   att   utbyta   erfarenheter   mellan   kollegor. Konklusion: Sjuksköterskor har behov av  handledning, både i form av reflektion för att undvika att känslor och tankar blir ett hinder samt i sin professionella växt. Titel: Våld i nära relationer ? Sjuksköterskors erfarenheter av att möta våldsutsatta kvinnor, en systematisk litteraturstudie.Bakgrund: År 2011 anmälde 12 471 kvinnor att de blivit utsatta för våld i en nära relation. Skador som våldsutsatta kvinnor drabbas av är allt från psykiska besvär till svåra fysiska skador. Många av dessa kvinnor behöver komma i kontakt med sjukvården och sjuksköterskor i olika organisationer.Syfte: Syftet med litteraturstudien är att beskriva sjuksköterskans erfarenheter av att möta kvinnor som utsätts för våld i nära relationer.Metod: En systematisk litteraturstudie där inkluderade studier granskades och kvalitetsbedömdes. Resultaten analyserades och tematiserades utifrån likheter och skillnader.Resultat: Huvudresultatet påvisade sjuksköterskornas känslomässiga svårigheter att möta kvinnor som utsätts för våld i nära relationer, då det bland annat påverkade sjuksköterskans privatliv.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the presence of arterial insufficiency in patients undergoing CABG surgery and whether arterial insufficiency is a risk factor for postoperative wound infections in the harvesting leg. Patients who had CABG surgery were enrolled consecutively. A total of 144 patients participated in the study. During their hospital stay demographic data was recorded, as well as pre-, intra-, and postoperative tests and risk factors. The patients answered a questionnaire regarding postoperative wound infections 30 days after surgery patients answered a questionnaire regarding infections.
