The collection of hazardous waste from the household around Swedish municipalities varies. 1% of the households waste is hazardous waste. It has hazardous features that can give bad consequences for the nature and human health if we don?t collect it and treat it. Therefore the law controls it, the municipalities have responsibility for the household waste.

IKEA HaparandaTornio employ some two-hundred people in its furniture retail store.Keeping track of staff statistics and employee information has previously been achievedthrough the use of a basic Microsoft Office Excel spreadsheet. The store?s human resourcesdepartment requested an upgrade to this system with the hope of speeding up andsimplifying the administrative process, as well as to make it easier to monitor HR-relatedtarget statistics. The following report documents the development process of that upgrade ascarried out by the author. The project draws on research in usability design and cognitivepsychology to develop a user-friendly interface.

The Smart Grid technology has during the last decade been established as a way to create a greater flexibility on the electricity grid that will be needed as the development moves towards an increased share of renewable primary energy sources in the electricity production. One part of the Smart Grid technology is the ability to shift loads in time, to adapt to either price or emissions, known as Demand Response. This project, which was conducted at KTH in collaboration with the consulting corporation Capgemini, examines the economic, environmental and social aspects of the Demand Response technology. In the project, three household products are used in a model that derives the potential savings in costs and emissions of CO2e. The results show that the actual savings measured in SEK are small, but that the savings measured in percent can be as high as 20 percent. Reduction of CO2e emissions is slightly lower.

In Rio De Janeiro, 1992, was the first document signed that meant a responsibility for industrial countries to decrease their emissions, United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). Thirteen years later was the first legal binding document signed, the Kyoto protocol, and for the first time industrial countries all over the world was bound to decrease their emissions on greenhouse gases. Within the framework of this commitment, three flexible mechanisms (Clean Development mechanism, Joint Implementation and Emission trading) were introduced with the function to reduce the economical costs of the commitment. Biological pest management is defined as control of pests using their natural enemies. This method has been used in Sweden since the 1970´s and it has been developed ever since. Biological pest management is today relatively common among commercial growers but there are good possibilities to apply this method in the home gardens as well. The aim with this thesis is to compile a report from both the companies that are marketing the products and the home gardener´s point of view. This should give a better understanding of the market and how it could be improved. We will give examples of products that represent the different kinds of organisms that are being used in biological pest management. Our hope is that this will be an introduction to all interested in biological pest management. The legislations regarding registration of organisms are still a matter of discussion and are causing problems to producers, distributors and the market in general. Why isn´t biological pest management more common in the home garden? The main reason appears to be the lack of knowledge in the subject. What are the benefits using biological pest management when it requires so much knowledge and it´s more expensive than conventional pest management? With the environmental problems we face today, we hope that every single gardener has an interest in developing an environment as clean as possible, even if only in one's own backyard..

This study, a narrative analysis of it, deals with the term, home, its importance and the use of it by Child welfare investigators in the city of Malmö between the years 1930-1936. Commonly used and acknowledged, home stood for security and order while the term, street, had just the opposite meaning. Living in the countryside symbolized health and sensibility, while city life was considered to be cramped, dirty and immoral. The responsibility of achieving the liberals and conservatives ideal of a sunny, clean and orderly home was given to the woman of the house, as was the task of keeping the home morally correct, and providing the necessary atmosphere for proper upbringing of the children. Consequently, the basis of theory, using Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels in regards to the conflicts between the upper and lower classes, and even theories of Jane Lewis of woman´s connection to home and family, have been the grounds for the study.

Detta examensarbete syftar till att utreda inneklimat- och energisituationen i Lekaryd kyrka. För att göra detta har klimatmätning genomförts, samt simuleringar med datorsimuleringsprogrammet IDA ? Klimat och energi. Kyrkan har höga energikostnader och för att få kännedom om energiförlusternas storlek och fördelning, har en kartläggning av kyrkans energiflöden genomförts i syfte att fastställa dess energibalans. Målet är att resultaten från klimatmätningen och datorsimuleringarna ska kunna användas som underlag vid utarbetande av åtgärdsförslag för en lönsammare och ur bevarandesynpunkt skonsammare drift av Lekaryd kyrka.

Bakgrund: Både kateteranvändning och residualurin kan leda till flera komplikationer i efterförloppet. Att studera detta ansågs betydelsefullt ur ett kvalitetssäkerhetsperspektiv.Syfte: Att beskriva förekomst av postoperativ residualurin efter neurokirurgi relaterat till kateteranvändning. Syftet var även att belysa hur sjuksköterskor dokumenterade detta och om eventuella riktlinjer fanns och hur de i så fall följdes.Metod: Kvantitativ, retrospektiv studie med deskriptiv ansats. En journalgranskning genomfördes och de 144 patientjournaler som studerades på den aktuella vårdenheten valdes ut genom ett konsekutivt urval.Resultat: Nästan samtliga patienter vars journaler studerades hade haft urinkateter under operationen. För de patienter där residualurin hade förekommit var detta dokumenterat i standardvårdplanen hos samtliga.

Control and comparison of various cleaning methods on restaurants in Södra RoslagenThe purpose of this report is to find out and analyze the efficiency of cleaning methods in restaurant kitchens. The investigation was carried out through unannounced inspections at 89 restaurants in Södra Roslagen (municipality of Danderyd, Täby and Vaxholm). ATP-measuring was done on a plate, a knife, a bench surface and a cutting board. The ATP-method measured the amount of food residue on equipment and working surfaces after cleaning, with a luminometer and swabs. Restaurant staffs were asked to describe in detail how and when the last cleaning was carried out on the surface.

Electricity production from renewable energy resources such as wind energy and photovoltaics is variable. Integration of these intermittent resources into the electricity system leads to new challenges in how to manage imbalance between supply and demand on the grid.One way to meet these challenges is to develop so-called smart grid solutions. One idea, called demand response, is to adjust the amount or timing of energy consumption, e.g. by control of household appliances, to provide flexibility that could be used to balance the grid. In aggregate, when applied to many units across the system, large volumes of energy could be made available when needed and this grid flexibility can be used as a product on the electricity regulation market.Despite the potential benefits, the number of demand response bids is currently low.

The project was carried out with SwedSafe AB, engaged in hearing and manufacture of earplugs. Since the company is a world leader in the sale of these products, it is important that they keep a higher level of quality of these products.Production of earplugs is currently a automated manufacturing process that is divided into four conveyor belts and one of the conveyor belts is what will be affected in the project. The belt affected during this process is exposed to various elements such as filling, closing, fermentation and extraction of products. Because the belt gets dirty, degraded products and the work environment is affected. To increase the quality of products and improve the working environment requires an automatic cleaning process, which collects dirt from the belt.The aim of the project is to design a machine that prevents the belt from becoming dirty, preserve molds clean and improve the working environment without disrupting production.

Starka samband har tidigare framkommit mellan den maximala styrkan i knäböj på två ben och sprintkapacitet rakt fram på varierande distanser men inte på sprintkapacitet i agility. Gemensamt för de flesta studier är dock att styrketesterna endast utförts på två ben.Syftet med studien var att undersöka korrelationen mellan maximal styrka i enbensknäböj i smith-maskin och sprintförmågan i löpningar, både rakt fram och med riktningsförändringar.Testgruppen bestod av 19 män (23,9 ± 2,5 år) med regelbunden träningserfarenhet av intermittenta lagsporter. Sprinttester gjordes på 5, 10 och 20 meter rakt fram samt ett zigzag agilitytest för att testa sprintkapacitet med riktningsförändringar. Enbensknäböj i smith-maskin genomfördes med stången på axlarna och ett djup på 110 grader vinkel mellan femur och tibia.Resultaten av studien visade på signifikanta korrelationer mellan den maximala styrkan i enbensknäböj och sprintkapaciteten på 5 och 10 meter samt i agility. När den maximala styrkan var relaterad till kroppsvikten hittades signifikanta korrelationer mellan 5 och 20 meter samt i agility.
