The secularization theses has over the last decade been a central issue within the sociology of religion. The two classic theses has been criticized for being one-sided and only focus on the change from traditional to modern society. The intention of this study is to evaluate this critique and to discuss what is defendable in the early secularization thesis in our contemporary world.This essay?s primary purpose is to compare the secularization theses Weber?s The Protestant Ethic and the Spirit of Capitalism and Durkheim?s The Elementary Forms of Religious Life. I use two analytical models, posing three levels and three categories of secularization, in order to make the comparison explicit.

Produktplaceringen är idag, utöver att bidra med realism till spelet, också ett sätt för spelförlag att finansiera spelen eller att i utbyte själva synas i annonsörens mediekanaler. Idag finns produktplacering representerat mestadels i sportspel där reklamen anses bidra till realism, men det förekommer även produktplacering i andra spelgenrer. Syftet med denna uppsats har varit att försöka redogöra för produktplacering i konsol- och dataspel som ett fenomen.

Syftet med det här arbetet har varit att välja ut och integrera en lämplig fysikmotor med öppen källkod i simuleringsprogramvaran EWSim på Totalförsvarets Forskningsinstitut (FOI). EWSim är ett ramverk för duellsimulering i olika telekrigsscenarier. Teorin bakom fysikmotorer och några vanliga tekniker för fysiksimulering har beskrivits kortfattat. Tre fysikmotorer har presenterats och utvärderats med avseende på lämplighet för integrering i EWSim.Fysikmotorn Bullet valdes ut och integrerades i simuleringsprogramvaran. En av de huvudsakliga slutsatserna av arbetet är att fysikmotorer som Bullet mest kan bidra med ökad visuell realism i EWSim.

Background: Climate changes are a growing concern all over the world today. In June year 2006 the European Union accepted a new strategy for the Unions work against a sustainable development. The concept of taking consideration to all the aspects of an organisations/a company's activity is something that have been in focus during later years. Social and ethical aspects are in focus and questions regarding these aspects are more commonly included in the companies yearly reporting. A sustainability report is characterised by that it takes into account not only environmental aspects, like ordinary environmental reports, but also social and ethical aspects of a company's activity with it's surroundings.

For this study I use a critical realism approach and the aim with the thesis is to elucidate humor as a socially reflexive tool. My investigation has its starting point in the stand-up comedy arena, which I mean can exemplify a social context where the communication is focused around humor. I mean that humor can be used to create imaginary variations of the knowledge and truths, which we live our lives according to. The asymmetrical interpretations of the socially reflexive tool humor can be used to identify, elucidate, and cope with the diverging truths of life. But even though humor has boundless possibilities to reshape knowledge, it is also limited by the social contexts where it is mediated and by the involved individuals that create the humor or sanction the humor positive and/or negative..

By describing and analyzing a self made composition for the Swedish folk music instrument ?nyckelharpa? with emphasis on playing techique, dissonance treatment and interpretation questions are reflected upon regarding how dissonances and andvanced harmonical progressions are treated on a limited instrument such as ?nyckelharpa?. By emphasizing the traditional norm connected to the interpretation and instrumentation of traditional Swedish folk music (a traditon in which the nyckelharpa is included) and comparing the te- chniques connected to it with the recent composed material in a western classical context the possibilities and limitations in composition and interpretation are further investigated. Thus the musical experience and the documentation of the process of composing a concert for nyckelharpa provides a knowledge base for reflective analysis upon questions regarding interpretation, composition and dissonance treatment. This thesis also provides a brief summary of traditional playing and bowing technique as well as a short historical description of the Swedish traditional instrument ?nyckelharpa?..

Syftet med denna studie är att bidra till ökad kunskap om kommunikationsbrister inom en utbildningsförvaltning och hur man kan synliggöra dem. I denna uppsats har valet av genomförande grundat sig på den kvalitativa metoden genom intervjustudie. Utifrån de elva intervjuer har i resultatet kommit fram att kommunikations begrepp är svårt att definiera men att en rak kommunikation och öppenheten mellan parterna är väsentlig för en god kommunikation. In this thesis I discuss and analyse the relationship between USA and Europe since the end of the Cold War. Many authors claimed that the Soviet threat was the glue that kept the continents together. Now that threat is gone and new challenges have risen. In what way has this relationship been influenced by the new challenges this new era stands for? By doing a case study and by using two quite different theorists, John Mearsheimer an offensive realist and Joseph Nye who is a liberal institutionalist, I?ll try to show how for example September 11, anti-amerikanism and NATO can be explained and understood.

This paper investigates the possibilities to construct automatized portfolios based on optimizations strategies that could outperform comparable indexes. The study is based on time-series of Swedish stocks dating from 1986 to 2006. In the research four different portfolio optimization techniques were studied. These were: the Classical Markowitz Approach, Mean-Absolute-Deviation, Minimum-Regret and Conditional Value-at-Risk of which the three latter are based on generated scenarios. The behaviour of these models was studied for different choices of parameters such as backward time-horizon and targeted average return.

Syftet med en här uppsatsen var att undersöka vilka egenskaper hos spelfilmer som komvuxelever uppskattar mest, undersöka möjliga förklaringar, samt se hur läraren kan utnyttja detta. Jag har använt mig av en kvantitativ metod i form av enkätundersökningar som bedrivits i fem klasser på ett komvux i södra Sverige. Jag har utgått ifrån fyra teorier i min analys: Psykoanalys, semiotik, kognitivism och feministisk teori. Resultatet som jag kom fram till var att de flesta eleverna föredrog de lite mer lättillgängliga hollywoodfilmerna, som de var mer bekanta med. Det rådde små och få skillnader mellan män och kvinnors uppfattningar av spelfilmsavsnitten.

Via en teknisk undersökning om vad som händer när man utför regelbrytningar inom bildutsnitt och vinklar har vi fått bevisat för oss att det är tekniskt möjligt att skapa kontraster och dramatik inom modeporträtt med hjälp av att bryta riktlinjer..
