Att kombinera flera olika undersökningsmetoder i ett projekt är något som sker dagligen. Detta examensarbete har utförts i ett projekt som inom geotekniken kombinerar relativt sällan använda metoder. Samtidigt som i stort sätt hela undersökningsprogrammet är utfört på vatten.I examensarbetet utvärderas de geotekniska undersökningarna som Vectura Consulting genomförde för projektet City Link i Stockholm under tiden hösten 2011 till våren 2012. Undersökningarna utfördes på uppdrag av Svenska kraftnät för konstruktionen av City Link vilken är en TBM driven tunnel som skall gå under Centrala delarna av Stockholm. Examensarbetet är utfört på uppdrag av Vectura i Sundsvall där Per Nilsson har varit drivande i de frågeställningar som examensarbetet tar upp.De använda undersökningsmetoderna i projektet har varit Jb-sondering, reflektion- och refraktionseismik, MWD-styrd sänkhammarborrning och kärnprovtagning.

Uppsatsen, Bulgariens väg mot EU ? en studie om handel och specialisering ? , undersöker de ekonomiska effekter som Europaavtalet har medfört för Bulgariens del. Avtalet etablerade ett frihandelsområde mellan Bulgarien och EU och syftade till att förbereda landet för ett framtida EU-medlemskap. Vidare verkade Europaavtalet för ett främjande av handelsutbytet mellan de två parterna genom handelsliberalisering. Studiens primära syfte är att skildra Bulgariens utveckling under en tioårsperiod med avseende på handelsmönster och specialisering.

När informations- och kommunikationsteknik (IKT) blir en naturlig del av undervisningen kan det få positiva effekter på elevernas inlärning. Men historien visar också att när ny teknik introducerats genom politiska ställningstaganden och statliga satsningar har den inte alltid använts på det sätt som var tänkt. Kritik har framkommit mot att många lärare har otillräckliga kunskaper om tekniken och om hur den kan användas. Interaktiva skrivtavlor är ett av de verktyg som för in IKT i klassrummen. Enligt Burden (2002) kan skolor gå igenom tre faser vid införandet av ny teknik.

The transformation of the Swedish Armed Forces is bringing about major changes in many areas. Indirect fire is one capability affected by these changes. Financial savings, a shrinking organization and higher eligibility requirements mean that fewer soldiers will gain access to exclusive high-tech support resources such as the JAS 39 Gripen aircraft and the ARCHER artillery system. This thesis aims to examine whether access to indirect fire capability can be increased through the use of civilian products and communication networks. Technology development in the civilian mobile communications area is exponential and nations such as the USA, facing challenges similar to those of the Swedish Armed Forces, devote substantial resources to research and development.

Universitetsstudenter har ofta ett riskabelt alkoholbeteende ochupplever depressiva symtom under studietiden, vilket kan ha svårakonsekvenser. Förklaringarna till alkoholkonsumtion blanduniversitetsstudenter har ofta fokuserat på studenters motivation tillsocialisering med andra studenter. Litteraturen har också fokuserat påförstaårsstudenters övergångsfas i förklaringarna till depression.Denna studie involverade 117 universitetsstudenter i ett medelstortsvenskt universitet. Studiens huvudsyfte var att undersöka omstudenter som bytte ort för att studera dricker mer alkohol ochupplever flera depressiva symtom än studenter som studerar i sinhemort. Resultatet visar på en betydande skillnad i alkoholkonsumtionmellan de två grupperna, vilket tyder på ett samband mellan flyttenfrån hemorten och alkoholkonsumtion..

Preschool is a place that is continually undergoing change at a rapid pace and developing the skills of our educators is essential for their ability to keep up with these changes. Guidance conversations can be used as a vital tool for the educators competence development.The purpose of this essay is to investigate how educators, special educators and preschool principals think and reason about the use of guidance conversations in preschool.A qualitative method has been used in the shape of interviews with educators, special educators and preschool principals working within different districts of a medium sized city in the south of Sweden.These interviews revealed that the use of guidance conversations is often controlled by specific needs and is used when a problem arises amongst the children. There are many expectations on the special educators role in these conversations, one of which is the role of conversation leader with the purpose of guiding the conversation amongst involved parties and give them the tools they need to resolve problems by themselves instead of delivering packaged solutions..

Who is the most typical woman in ELLE Sweden (2013)? In this study we investigated the typical woman represented in the Swedish fashion magazine ELLE (2013) for women. Does a typical woman exist in the magazine at all and if so ? in what words and roles is she described in? How is this woman perceived in relation to the male gender? Based on the theory of constructionism; that the gender (i.e. What is female versus male) is constructed in the society and that media has an affect on our physical and psychological well being as well as our behavior and thoughts, the investigation of the female gender representation in women magazines, was of great importance to us.

In the beginning of this century United Nations expressed their concern about the lack of female participation in politics through a number of resolutions and conventions. To ensure sustainable development and democracy, United Nations argued the importance of women?s participation in every level of politics within a state.Burma is a country that is in the middle of an ongoing democratization process and women are not considered to participate in this process. The purpose of this thesis is therefore to analyze the experience of politically involved Burmese women in their political participation progress.This study has been realized through semi-structured interviews with nine Burmese women, in both Thailand and Burma. The questions that have been asked are about what societal and cultural barriers women meet when they are, or want to be, political involved, both from the society and within their own political organizations.

The purpose of this Master?s thesis is to examine what role the new city library in Halmstad has for its users. The questions posed in this study are: What do the users actually do at the library? What roles are the most significant according to the users? Have the politicians succeeded in their intention of realizing a modern library according to the users? The theoretical starting point is Andersson?s and Skot-Hansen?s theory of four different roles of public libraries. In order to extend the model we added a fifth function; the one of aesthetical experience.

Background: The meeting industry has had undergone a extensive changes due to a number of factors. The globalization has meant that supply increases and congress organizers have more options to choose from. Development in communications, for instance internet, means that meetings can take place without a physical presence. Congress organizers as clients have also changes. Stockholm as position as a leading city to hold congresses in has also changed for the worse, in 2006 Stockholm dropped of the top-10 list.

I vårt examensarbete har vi studerat gränspunkter som är skapade genom förrättningar och dokumenterade i koordinatsystem som inte längre är aktuella att använda. Vi har studerat kedjan från inmätning av befintliga gränspunkter, till att de är transformerade och införda i Trollhättans Stads databas.Vi har arbetat med tre olika områden i Trollhättan, vilka är Skoftebyn, centrum och Kalltorps By. De har tillkommit vid olika tidsperioder, har olika typer av bebyggelse samt är redovisade i olika typer av koordinatsystem. Genom vårt arbete har vi sett att olika områden i Trollhättan har olika väl bevarade gränsmarkeringar. I de villaområden vi studerat har flertalet av gränspunkterna återfunnits, medan de i centrum varit obefintliga, sånär som på gränsmarkeringar utvisade med hushörn.För att få ett djupare sammanhang har vi gjort en historisk tillbakablick där vi studerat gränser ur en allmän synvinkel.

The population growth and urbanisation in low-income countries bring issues of poor living standards and miserable sanitation conditions onto the agenda. If well-functioning waste management systems were developed, this could master some of the problems. The already existing local informal waste handling system that is common in many low-income countries, needs to be developed with proper sorting and composting solutions to decrease the environmental burden and improve the overall situation in the dense cities. This master?s thesis project is performed with the intention of developing functional decentralised waste management units in the city of Pune, India.

From a democratic point of view the existing organisation with municipality sections in the city of Malmö, Sweden will be examined. The matter of how an alternative organisation should be structured will also be discussed. Two incompatible models of democracy theories will be arranged: libertarian democracy and participation democracy. The intentions with the reform were primary to increase the civic participation. By applying those values that are used to characterize participation democracy it will be shown whether the local participation has actually increased.

The numbers of natural disasters caused by extreme weather are increasing through out the world. A large majority of the research concerning the climate shows that this is a trend that can be expected to continue. At the same time the urbanisation is increasing more than ever and for the first time in history more than fifty percent of the population lives in a city. How we build these cities will have a crucial importance for our adaption to the new climate. In Sweden, our capacity for an adaption are high because of our economic situation as well as our rather well built society.

The aim of this essay was to understand how teachers identify and deal with the problems surrounding economic vulnerability among their students.  A qualitative study method was conducted by seven semi-structured interviews with teachers from a big city in Sweden. When analyzing my result I found support in Goffman's stigma theory as well as in previous research. The teachers identify economic vulnerability amongst their students through their material belongings, when the class does something extraordinary, and through how the students communicate. Problems that the teachers can see in the classroom for economically disadvantaged students are that they can be aggressive, unruly and become introverted. Problems with studies and shoplifting are also common.
